Very pleased by the great and fast work done by Charlotte. Definitely worth 5 stars. This said, I would recommend that the agency amend their cleaning process and impose a professional cleaning to leaving tenants. It would avoid any disappointment.

Charlotte Ireson and the team at Taylor Clarke did a fantastic job of managing the entire rental application process for me, despite my still being in South Africa and the procedural challenges that that posed. I can highly recommend Charlotte and John at Taylor Clarke for their professionalism and efficiency.

We are a small residential company. We gave the management to John Clarke four years ago. In the last year he did no maintenance whatsoever so we decided to take it back and manage it ourselves. He agreed. When we saw the relevant documents many questions arose. He made large payments without asking our permission, transferred increasingly large sums of money into his own accounts without explanation. In the last two months he refused to answer any questions until we paid his fees for more than a year - for which we had never received invoices. In the end he took everything out of our account leaving us with a zero balance. We had to get a solicitor to see the complete files and bank statements. He put our bank account into his own company name so that we had no access to it and have to open a new account. The solicitor warned him that his activities could be considered criminal and that we could report him to the police.
John Clarke is a smooth talking rogue, he does the minimum and charges the maximum.
STAY AWAY. BE WARNED!

Correspondence was really good and application process went really smooth. However when I got to my new property, I found the place in an absolute state. It was really really filthy. Nothing had been cleaned. I spend 2 days cleaning the property I was moving out from (to make sure I’d leave the place immaculate), only to come into this mess. Floors & skirting boards filthy, ceiling covered in cobwebs, windows filthy, fridge & oven looked like they’d never been cleaned. Surfaces and cupboards all dusty, sticky and filthy. Hairs and toothpaste in bathroom sink, urine splashed on the toilet, mould... the list was long. They came to check the place (said it looked fine), and arranged for a window cleaner to come and do the windows and a cleaner to help with cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. The pictures in the inventory were 5 years old and didn’t match the current state of the property. Rubbish. It’s a lovely house in a beautiful area, I enjoy living here, but I had so much work cleaning it!! Something they should have done before I got the keys. Disappointing.
Other than that no complaints...

When we first moved into our property it stunk of drugs, the carpet was dirty and there were bits wrong all over the place! They should have taken photos of it but they “forgot” the iPad! On leaving the house we cleaned it 10 times better then what we got it in! But yet they wanted to pick up on little things so they could keep the deposit! I’ve rented before and other companies would have been happy as anything to have received the house as we’d left it. So my advice would be to go with a different estate agents where their actually professional!

Taylor Clarke Lettings have been extremely professional in the letting and management of my property in Greater Malvern. I live in London and dealing with Taylor Clarke Lettings make this process very straightforward as they effectively deal with the day to day management of the property. I would recommend John Clark and his team to anyone who requires a letting agent in the Malvern area.
