We purchased a house through David and found him extremely helpful and professional throughout. It was a difficult chain with issues throughout the sale (which were completely outside his control). After the sale of our house fell through a few weeks ago, David & Andrew dealt with the situation incredibly professionally and have since secured another buyer for us. Contrary to previous comments, we have found David nothing but fair, professional, informative and pro-active! Both him and Andrew are easy to contact and also happy to be contacted ‘out of hours’. They’ve managed all the viewings, with little distribution and given detailed feedback. As sellers, we can’t fault their services or conduct. We are also using David Ricketts to purchase our next home, and their professional and supportive service has been the same on this transaction. They’ve worked hard to secure this purchase, despite the disruption from our sale. Keeping all parties fully informed of the situation. I have thought hard about how to write this review. We had the unpleasant experience of having to communicate with David through a house we put an offer on. 1. He was incredibly rude and forsful and passive agressive to my wife, to the point she did not want to speak with him any more. He speaks over you and doesn't listen, giving the impression it's all a pain dealing with you. He is ever so polite to try and mask the fact he's being a bully! 2. David cared nothing about us only the sale. 3. He would pester and pester you calling on evenings and weekends 4 or 5 times at a time. 4. He cared nothing about our experience and us at all trying to make us feel sorry for the seller who accepted our offer. 5. He was over dramatic about absolutely everything. 6. It honestly made us feel sick that he technically be being paid by our money. 7. He through other professionals under the bus blaming them for his error. 9. He then complained about my wife to me her husband. It took all my strength not to go and have words with him, trying to remain professional. We ended up pulling out of our offer and I will say a bit of that was down to him and how he made the whole experience horrible giving a bad feeling about the house. My advice find any other estate agent to use.... Read more

Really poor. Would not recommend. David was very rude, would regularly hang up very poor manners. Did not advocate for you, his client, was just chasing the sale. Andrew on the other hand was always professional, nothing bad to say about Andrew but David released keys before funds had transferred... Terrible.... Read more

As both a buyer and seller we have found David "firm but fair" to all parties involved and very useful for pushing chains on to completion. Dave and Andrew gave a 5 star service on the sale of my house in Lisvane. It had been marketed 3 times before by local agents without success. Dave Rickett managed to get the property sold within a couple of weeks and managed to sort out all the problems we had with a chain of 6 with his excellent comunication skills. David Ricketts Estates Agents has provided us with an outstanding and professional service whilst selling our house in Rhiwbina. From our initial meeting and realistic valuation, I knew David Ricketts could be trusted to market and sell our property. David went above and beyond by dealing tactfully and professionally with the tennant that currently occupied the property and ensuring viewings were convenient for her by communicating clearly and professionally. I was hugely grateful for this because it took the pressure off me. Following each viewing we were provided with detailed and honest feedback. My house was sold within 2 weeks of being marketed. Now I know why I see so many David Ricketts boards in Rhiwbina and surrounding areas of Cardiff. I would highly recommend David Ricketts for a smooth sale of your home. I am a legitimate seller. AWFUL SERVICE!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! We were so happy that we got accepted on a property & after that we was treated terribly, even after we gave all documentation it still wasn’t good enough. Even though solicitors usually deal with this we kept having to prove ourselves. Me & my family are still struggling to find a house suitable now, when we should be looking forward to moving in! The way I was spoken too was appalling, I felt so disrespected, never gave me a chance to speak & was also rude to my broker & even he didn’t want to deal with them. Avoid at all costs. Extortionate referencing fees (£750+), threatening phone manner. Called me at work at 9am to demand payment after asking questions about a property at 10pm the night before. Infamous with other letting agents in Cardiff, as so many have shared horror stories about DR&Co with them. Utterly foul.... Read more
