Having bought our property with Peter Alan over 7 years ago, we recently used their Mortgage Advice service when reaching the end of our fixed term.
Our Mortgage Services Consultant, Georgina Butler, was excellent. She was knowledgeable, well informed and able to help guide us through the process efficiently, whilst also helping us plan what the future of financing our home may look like. I really appreciated her direct approach. She answered all of our questions with honesty, grounded in an understanding of the challenges of current economy for homeowners and families, and with the intention to help as best as she could. At no point did we feel like there was any sort of "sales pitch" or pressure to commit to services that were offered, the decision on how to progress is entirely your own, and we felt we were able to make those decisions confidently with Georgina's advice.
I would definitely recommend contacting her if you are unsure about your mortgage, have some decisions to make about how to manage your mortgage and feel a bit overwhelmed, or simply dont have the capacity to do all the searching and shopping around on your own - she saved us alot of time and unnecessary stress!

Worst renting experience ever and unfortunately learned every lesson the hard way.
For anyone considering renting from these people, cover your backs at every moment
Firstly. The inventory given to us in no way represented the property when we started renting, but I was too nieve and desperate to stop the process
Secondly. Change the locks as soon as you move in, and don't give them the key. In the 2 years we rented from them, twice we had strangers let themselves in with keys that they had been handed without any confirmation from us.
Thirdly. Take pictures of everything and log the time you hand in the keys. As is the normal process moving house everything was done very last minute and by the time we dropped off the keys we'd left the house in a much cleaner state than we had arrived only to find that someone from their team had let themselves in early on checkout day (seemingly while we were unloading at the new house) and took the checkout pictures before we had started the final clean and after explaining to them they had the nerve to try and charge us £500 cleaning fee.
Good luck if you go with them, and as long as you follow these rules, you should hopefully have a better time than us

I had been renting via Peter Alan Llanishen for 1.5 years - the initial process was very quick - they wanted the paper work and payments done straight away. No issues at this stage as it was all very fast.
Thankfully my landlords lived next door so all maintenance issues went straight to them, and I did not have to contact the Llanishen branch whilst renting there.
Fast forward 1.5 years later, I have to move out of Wales due to a new job… I explained to the agency that I’ll need to leave earlier than my end of contract BUT I had found someone who wanted to move in ASAP to the date I wanted to move out of - which was part of my contract.
This took the Llanishen branch approx 3 weeks to even start the referencing process of the interested tenant - I called to chase them up about it and even the interested tenant did too.
To cut an extremely painful and long-story short, both myself and the new tenant were constantly told false information on the status of where things were at, the branch either blamed the delay on the new tenant or on the landlords - when the delay was definitely on their end (the branch seemed to forget that I was friends with the new tenant and lived right next door to my landlords so I would ask them about this info - turns out the Llanishen branch were telling lies to cover up their poorly managed business).
Once the whole back and fourth shenanigans continued, I was then hit with a large re-letting fee, I asked for a breakdown on what I was exactly paying for which to my surprise, most of it was covering the fee of finding a new tenant and advertising the flat, which I had already done for them?!
Anyway, they then pushed back the new tenants start date due to an expired ‘electrical report’, surely this meant that the property would have not been safe to live in, however I was still liable for that months rent even though they knew I had moved out.
I then had to chase my deposit months after I had finished my tenancy despite not having a single charge for damage!
I thought I was done with Llanishen Peter Alan (and Peter Alan as a whole) but I have now been pestered by phone calls - 4 times in the space of 24 hours from Peter Alan, telling me my ‘rented flat has an inspection booked for Monday’… after the first phone call, I told them I did not live at this property anymore and haven’t for 4 months now. This must have not gone through to the lady on the line because she called me a further 3 times to tell me the EXACT same thing, to which I told her again, I am not the tenant anymore and not to call again!
My advice: don’t bother with these lying clowns and avoid the agency at all costs. They are good when they need money and need to push a tenant into an empty property but awful at communication, common sense!

My experience with the Llanishen branch was great, Chris kept me in the loop throughout the whole process with regular calls and updates and I never felt like I was left in the dark. Although we didn't end up purchasing a property with Peter Alan we did get our mortgage through them. Our mortgage advisor, Michael, pushed us through the process quickly and when we submitted our mortgage application we had our offer back within four days! Overall great service ????

I felt it appropriate to write a review to explain the brilliant service I received from Peter Alan. I had a rental property in St Mellons and needed a quick sale in order to pool funds with the sale of my girlfriend’s property to buy a new build.
During this time estate agents were furloughed as it was at the peak of Covid-19 Pandemic. Chris, who was calm, reassuring and professional, gave me a great advice in order to maximise the best price possible in the local area for a property of my size. He also gave me tips on the negotiations with the cash buyer. The longer- term plan was to sell the bigger property and on the back of the service there was only one runner, which was Peter Alan.
Chris was honest with me throughout and had the advantage of colleagues knowing the market in the local area.
I would thoroughly recommend Peter Alan if you are planning on renting or selling a property. There was no pushy sales tactics, just honesty throughout the whole process.
If there was a rating this would definitely be 10/10.

We were fortunate enough to have Julie Jeffries (Station Road branch ) as our agent .
Her professionalism and friendly demeanor was the perfect combination and she excelled our expectations. This was especially remarkable due to it being the first day back after lockdown ; however you wouldn't know this due to how effectively she seemed to be implementing the new rules.
It highlights how you cannot account for knowledge and experience , Thank you Julie ! ...no doubt a real asset to Peter Alan.

Melanie Davidson, Christopher Robinson, Molly Louise Erickson and Caterina Heron-Davies are vile human beings. I was recommended to use Peter Alan and I will never be using them again. I will also be recommending that all my contacts stay away. You are disgusting people and you are ruining a reputation that once was so strong and reputable. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Writing as a buyer, rather than one of Peter Alan's customers, I was happy with my experience.
Molly Newman, in particular, was extremely helpful, patient and quickly grasped exactly the sort of house that we were looking for: indeed, we ended up buying a house that she matched us with after viewing another house that wasn't suitable for us.
In addition, Chris Robinson was equally patient, thoroughly reasonable throughout and a welcome calming influence in what can sometimes be a fraught process.

so sadly disappointed with Peter alan llanishen. I requested my house to be taken off the market on numerous ocassiins after people messing me around . and 2 months on still advertised. Peter alan Also leaflets around doors stating my house was sold with the number of the house on it and guess what not sold so also false advertising . I could carry on but lost all confidence in Peter alan night mare for me avoid avoid avoid

I’ve been using Peter Alan to advertise and manage my property for the last three years. They have done an outstanding job. They are professional, effective, dedicated and accommodating, especially if there are maintenance issues and I’m outside the country. The maintenance team always think outside the box. Bought our house and went with their mortgage advisor James, he was excellent. The overall experience of going to Peter Alan felt easy, they take care of everything, and keep you well informed. James was a major help, he made everything clear to us at our meetings, he was very accommodating to our availability, was always there to answer queries over the phone and pass on things he couldn't answer. Peter and Gemma were courteous and professional at all times. I had asked them to act as a find-only agent for a tenant. They were honest about the type of tenant that would respond despite it not precisely fittin the required profile. They were able to answer 99% of my questions and were true enouh to say when they didn't know. They exercised tact and patience when the first 3 or 4 applicants presented were turned down; however the right one came along very shortly afterwards. I believe that Peter was a little surprised when asked to put the property on for a little more than he had recommended to find that it was snapped up very quickly all the same.
So I would hihly recommend them despite the small thing that follows.
And not a big thing at all, they arranged everything including payment to Deposit Protection Scheme. However there was further work neccessary on my part to complete all the fields that the DPS show. It seems that they had not been passed across when paymentb was submitted by Peter Allen. I have had to send the Tenancy Agreement to the DPS so that they can update the said fields.

Pathetic. My neighbor's house is let out by Peter Alan and their fence fell down in September 2017. The landlord was informed at the time and Peter Alan was due to fix it and never did. Five months later and numerous calls to Peter Alan and the fence is not fixed. If this is the standard of their maintenance care it doesn't say much for the rest of the business. Will definitely be avoiding them for any homes I sell/rent in the future.
