This agency is one of the worst agencies i would ever rent a house with. I tried renting a 3 bedroom property, the process took about 3 weeks, at the start of the process everything was alright, however, they asked for information every day and i had to provide it as soon as possible or else they kept threatening me that they will immediately put the property up for rent on their website so that i cannot rent it anymore, they were mentally torturing me. I couldn't take so much stress as i am a diabetes patient. Moreover, i had to move immediately as i had to apply for secondary school admissions for my sons but they didn't understand that at all. Furthermore, they kept telling me they will move on with the process but after i paid them the fees, they kept making excuses for not giving me the property and keeping the fees. By the third week, they said that the process has been completed and everything is fine but 2 days later, they said it was not acceptable and made more excuses, eventually i gave up and they didnt even return the fees i paid as they said it was my fault even though i provided everything. After that my kids couldn't go to a good school. However, the agent Sam was alright, she did what she could. But, i would not recommend this agency to anyone. Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone at Douglas SmartMove. I’d been trying to find a property to rent for a few months with no joy and was beginning to lose my mind and faith in the whole estate agents business. Such unprofessionalism and at times downright rude. That is until I met the team at Douglas SmartMove. From the outset they were professional and upfront about the property I was interested in. (None of this oh if you want it you’ll probably have to bid higher if someone else is interested). Once I told them I was interested and needed to move quickly they went above and beyond to get everything sorted. Emailing and texting regularly to make sure I was kept up to date. (I have to say I was literally a nightmare, harassing them all the time for fear of losing the property) ???? even so they remained totally professional and guided me through the process. I quickly realised I could relax and let them do their jobs. I’m now in my rental accommodation and they remain on hand for any questions which are dealt with swiftly. I’ll definitely be using them to guide me through the process of buying a house once I’m ready to move on. Hi have used Douglas Smartmove a few times now over the past few years. They have always been professional and communication has been good. This has been brought to the fore recently in the last house sale which the Covid pandemic and the lack of mortgage availability played havoc with. The house sale fell through several times through no ones fault but they continued to market the house and push the next sale never giving up, when at time I felt like doing so. Credit to them... I initially used Douglas Estate agents around six months ago. After my tenant (who had signed a twelve month contract) needed to vacate the property due to redundancy, Mary and her team worked extremely hard to find a suitable tenant whilst at the same time trying to cut the financial losses for everyone concerned. Over the past 12 months our company has built a fantastic relationship with Douglas Smartmove estate agents. They have a have personal touch to what they do. The senior head Mary and her team go the extra mile in ensuring the customer experience is the best it can be. More recently, one of our properties (from Douglas) had a few internal issues due to general wear and tear. Within one hour, Douglas smart move sent our engineers and maintenance teams to address the issues. The service was professional, sincere and speedy and I honestly couldn’t believe how quickly they turned a stressful day into a positive one. On one particular occasion I let their company down and they managed to turn things around for me and said we understand that these things happen. It’s not just about business for them, they are a team driven by understanding and compassion who seek to ensure a long term relationship proposers for all involved. We sold our rental property through Douglas Smart move on the £699 plus VAT deal and and the service for good. We had a decent number of viewings early on and a couple of offers. They were very helpful at handling all the viewings on our behalf as we don't live nearby. They arranged the EPC for us and organised a local plumber to fix a leak at a very good price. House sold for £699. Job done. Thank you.... Read more
