Coming to the end of our tenancy with dovetail and they've been excellent. Always very quick and professional to answer queries. We had an issue with cleanliness of the property when we moved in and they resolved it with no quibble. Even though I'm in Bristol and they're based in bath I've had no problem getting hold of them or getting an issue solved. Well recommended... Read more

I consider Dovetail to be amongst the best Letting Agents I have used. The staff always react quickly and efficiently in response to my tenant's and my own problems and queries. They have found me quality tenants who care and respect my properties. They made the whole experience pleasant and easy and were always on hand...often well out of hours! We has a smooth move out and a swift deposit return. Be warned. Terrible. Sad to see more people falling victim to this terrible company. They WILL try to snatch your deposit when it's time to go - the inventory woman is in on it and so is the cleaning company that charge a fortune. £700 for dusting! Do not be bullied, they will then try to cut a deal to get whatever they can. I noticed they have moved premises which has wiped all those 1 star Google reviews from their old Gay St address. As you can see they haven't taken long to rack up some more. Search Yell & All-Agents too there's more still. They were also called Azure Property but changed their name - can you guess why? Well aside from being a typical letting agent with fees for doing nothing, we moved in to a lovely flat, which being brand new meant it came with a thick layer of builders crap over everything. This wouldn't have been an issue, if they then hadn't had the audacity to charge us £75 for a couple of cobwebs on the light fittings when we moved out. If I could give 0 stars, I definitely would. The worst letting agents I have ever encountered. Unhelpful, unfriendly and often very rude. The property was not cleaned before we moved in, it was disgusting, especially as there had been a cat there previously. It turned out that was the least of our problems. Around a month into our contract we had rats in our kitchen from a hole that wasn't fixed and carpet moths everywhere due to lack of prior cleaning and general maintenance on their part. I have hated every minute of living in this house and dovetail haven't helped us at all. 6 months and I have never been so happy to leave!! I couldn't believe they still took money from our deposit after all this. Also, funnily enough the hole that the rat made has still not been fixed... Please, no one ever make the mistake of using them.... Read more

Absolutely disgusting! Kicking us out after 6 months saying it's because of the damp on our flat when we have just been sent a letter stating their going to be letting the property out again as as for the landlord Gerald Trimby he has no heart we are now homeless and suffering from stress and depression due to the circumstances that dovetail have made for us as a couple of 18 and 19 it is disgusting that we have been treated so unfairly and discriminated against! They are coming into the property with no permission or notice and we are having our privacy invaded by the landlord and the agents of the property. Sarah Dedikas the manager has no sympathy and is very rude and so are her staff she should be ashamed of herself for making the people she deals with feel absolutely crap! Disgraceful service and poor manner over th phone and in person. Demanding we have our flat professionally cleaned and left in the same state as when we moved in but, black slimed mould from damp stuck all over the walls in the carpets etc is unable to be turned back to its original state!... A terrible letting agent with huge admin and deposit fees and over priced houses. The property we moved into was a mess upon arrival, clearly not having been cleaned after the previous tenants.The grime in the kitchen was disgusting, there were many damaged items, copious weeds and noticeable damp. When we brought up these issues sooner after moving in we were subsequently blamed for each. It took until the exam period near May that they accepted the damp was rising damp due to the house structure and asked builders to attend which caused difficulties when trying to revise. We cleaned the house and left it in a far better state than we found it, buying additional items for the next tenants to use instead of the broken items in the house. Despite this we had almost 1/4 of our deposit withheld.... Read more

Can't trust these agents, signed a renewal after 1 year on assurance rent would not go up. 2 weeks later rent went up. Give absolutely minimum amount of notice for inspections. The landlord hasn't read the agents tenancy contract example contract stated 'they can't withhold permission unreasonably for pet's' whereas landlord believed contract stated 'absolutely no pets allowed' Hard to get anything fixed in reasonable time, oven broken for a month and bathroom light not fixed in over 6 months. Never clear if letting agent or landlord is to be contacted depending on issue, totally blurred management. Basically anything you expect a landlord or letting agent to do they have failed....
