Stuart has sold us one house and helped us with valuations and other advice several other times. We have always been impressed with his professionalism and moreover his plain and simple helpfulness. I have no hesitation in recommending John German in Ashbourne for all things “property”.
I would highly recommend Stuart and his team to sell your house - their communication and attention to detail has been excellent. Selling your house is not always an easy process when there can be so many people involved in a chain, so you need to ensure you choose an estate agent who is experienced in all the possible scenarios. Well Done!

This estate agents is much superior to others in my experience over recent years. If George says he will ring you back he always does. If we have a question whose answer takes some exploring he does this too. He answered many questions from our buyer to try to enable a smooth sale. Bags haws are always there when you need them from start to finish. The photographs and writing up the sales advertisement to completion nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend and will be using them once againfor any future sale. Thank you FIona and FRancis JOrdan.

We recently sold our business through Ernest Wilson's and to choose them was our best decision. They were professional, thorough, friendly, and there to 'hold our hand' and answer any questions at anytime and quite often out of their working hours.
The knowledge and expertise in business sales by Mr Robert Williamson is outstanding. His understanding and accuracy in valuing businesses is something that I'm sure takes many years to master, and he certainly has. Robert is also supported by a first class team and I found that whichever member answered my call, they were well advised of the position of our sale and could easily assist me. We were kept informed throughout the entire process and were told repeatedly to call them at any time for any reason however small.
I would, without doubt, always purchase or sell a business through Ernest Wilson in the future, as to have such confidence and trust in your agent is priceless. It is extremely clear to see how they have built up the first class reputation that they have.
Well done to you all and thank you.
Do not use this company if you value your time and money also if you don't want to go to court .Because I didn't want to deal with them and told them to cancel my contract 3 weeks before the contract ending they send me a bill for £ 6,919 and they said I have to pay it because I ended the contract early .Be careful and read the contract and Do Not Go with this company. They charge me a bill for £6,919 for a 30k business (business which I sold myself in the end and not with their customers or help.Read the contract!!!!
just had news that everything had completed.
i was very happy with the sale, it was all done and dusted really quickly and i was helped out along the way with the sale and also they sorted the finance to buy it for the purchaser which was a really good add on. i got the price that i wanted for the business which was important cobseideribg the hard work and money i spent on the place.
thanks ever so much!
Under no circumstances sell your business with Hilton Smythe. We made the unfortunate decision to sign a six month contract with them back in February this year to sell our shop. A valuer visited us and told us that if we paid so much upfront, they'd be no more fee's to pay and if the shop wasn't sold within six months we could simply pull it off the market or go with someone else. It was originally marketed and valued at £50,000.
Initially we had a lot of interest and a sale looked likely. Then lockdown happened three weeks into the shop being advertised and all went quiet until late July, early August. Barely anything from Hilton Smythe. This we had expected due to the circumstances. In the meantime, the shop has been open and trading extremely well. Then come early August, we start being messed around by the agent. Suddenly and without any warning another agent has taken over and is arranging viewings with people who are not properly vetted. We're let down at the last minute by people who don't show up. We then reduce the price of our business in an effort to sell quicker, even then the agents kept calling with offer's well below the new asking price and when we turned them all down, we were made to feel like we're the ones being unreasonable and as though we should just accept any offer.
Low and behold, we have decided to take our business off the market. Our contract ran out on August 2nd, therefore we are now out of contract. But... Hilton Smythe have stated that we have to give them six weeks notice for them to take our business off the market and in this time, we must accept viewings else we are liable for a fee of almost £3,000! We only received an actual copy of our contract, the day we gave Hilton Smythe our notice, which was two days ago. Yesterday, emails were flying back and forth between Myself and the agency over yet another no show.
Hilton Smythe have become bullies and will stoop to any depths. They're not on the sellers side, the very people paying them and they will send anyone, unvetted, to waste your time on the promise of a sale. No matter how hard you try to get out of it, they will use 'the contract' against you. Do expect a level of stress that will drive you to the brink of a nervous breakdown and if you have a decent business, expect it to be adversely affected by bogus buyers phoning them and then you being forced into showing such people around! I urge anyone thinking of selling a business, go elsewhere. I wish I had seen some of these reviews back in February.
