Recently purchased a property at auction with Hammer Price Homes. I was a little sceptical first about buying a property via an online auction but was really surprised and happy about how easy it was. I liked the transparency of the auction and felt that it tested what the actual market value of the property was rather than the usual process of placing offers through an estate agent. The additional benefit was that we had time to arrange a mortgage. We had 3 months following the auction to complete and Michael at Hammer Price was great to guide us through the process and answer any questions. I have bid with Hammer Price Auction Homes three times in total and have purchased one house through them. I found their entire process easy to understand and the functionality of their website during the bidding process was faultless. Other larger auction houses do not have a system as sophisticated as Hammer Price Homes. They do charge a higher buyer registration fee than other auction houses that I have used, but unlike other larger auction houses, I felt that they gave a far more personalised service and I was able to ask questions prior to the auction that were answered quickly and honestly. Additionally, Michael was available after the auction and he provided updates right up until completion, keeping me in the loop and acting as middle-man between myself and the vendors. I would not hesitate in using Hammer Price Homes again and would urge others to consider using them too.... Read more

I have purchased a couple properties now through hammer price homes and i have found michael and his team to be fantastic every single time. First of all they answer every question i had and if they didn't know they went to find out and came back to me. I am the person who questions a lot :) so the patience they had was amazing. Through the sales process they were very helpful in talking to the buyers solicitors and giving a nudge to them when needed. They didn't just leave me to get on with it. Also they checked in on me from time to time during a sale to see if everything was going as planned and see if there was anything they can do to help. This is not something a lot of people do. Hammer Price Homes is at the very best an utter waste of time. Base prices are kept very low to attract swarms of naive buyers and then reserve prices are set way higher at 20% and over. I regularly bid with actual auction houses such as Savills, Barnard Marcus, etc.. and reserve prices are never in excess of 10% as per T&Cs Funny that on the Hammer Price Homes website you can see all the properties they have sold but you cannot see the ones they did not, isn't it? The problem is that this company falls in a category of its own which is hardly regulated, by through this website and it's not an estate agent and neither an auction house, which explains why they get away with some of the borderline practices you read in other reviews. In summary, I wasted a lot time between registration process, viewings and auction. Others have been more unlucky then me, in any case my recommendation is AVOID... Read more

I could not have had a worse experience. Whilst buying the property my bid was suspiciously beaten by a buyer who then dropped out (fake buyer?) The house turned out to be unmortgageable and despite the proof that i provided (photopgraphic and the banks surveyors comments) they refused to release my reservation fee until i had to pay for a surveyors report with my own money again! The house needed extensive work done to it (estimated 50k by the surveyor) . Over all i lost money because they tried to push through a house with the promise theyd be helpful if something happened which wasnt my fault. I am currently having an investigation carried out by the FOS.... Read more

Absolute Rubbish, after spending days researching the property, comes the auction, I was placing my bids, getting notifications as when I was the highest bidder and when I was our bidded, 10 minutes before the auction, I was the highest bidder, 30 seconds before the end I was the highest bidder, no seconds left, still the highest bidder. I didn't land the property because apparently I was out bidded 10 minutes before the end and didn't receive any notification, as I was receiving with no issue for the last 3 days....
