I would be honest on this one, on the beginning it had been all nice and smooth until I moved in, however 'Sam' didn't care about any of my pain points, however there is this new property manager Charley. She is absolutely great and made sure all my pain points were attended to. She came to the flat, identified all issues, manged the whole process of getting me to log the issues which Sam didn't bother to fix. Purchasing property could be a lengthy process with many unexpected bumps, which could make everyone frustrated and hopeless. A good , capable or a bad, irresponsible agent makes the difference heaven to hell. My experience with Mr. Joe Shorney @ Savills was very pleasant, he was very efficient, responsive, professional. Also I observed Savills had good relations with solicitors, developers and other parties, this was very important to get things through smoothly. As first time buyers we interacted with many estate agents before coming across the Savills team, quite by chance in fact, as the agent that was hosting us at the property we eventually purchased, practically abandoned us mid way during the viewing as she had other commitments! A Savills agent that happened to be at the site with another party kindly showed us around and took time to answer our questions. From then onwards we interacted with Joe initially who was very proactive in negotiating a viable deal for us with the developer, and later on we were seamlessly passed on to Isaac who continued with the excellent service. Both Joe and Isaac have been professional, courteous, prompt in communication, and accommodating at all times. I have given Savills one star because zero doesn't seem to be an option. They manage the building I live in. My impression is that the building is managed for Savills's convenience despite the residents being forced to pay for this service. I have sent the building manager four emails in the three years I have lived here and he hasn't had the manners to reply to one of them. They have been about things like unsecured doors to the building, vandalism, and in addition there have been long periods where the lifts have not been operational. The concierges are variable, one man makes it very plain you are disturbing him. I asked another concierge when the next leaseholders meeting was and she told me the residents are not invited. I am amused by the suggestion they make that a complainant should contact Carole Bratt, because this is exactly what I did. There have been two responses so far, one was to tell me that I would get an answer which of course never arrived in Savills usual style, and the other was an "investigation", which considering that I was complaining they were giving excuses for not installing CCTV, merely added more different reasons why they shouldn't install it, ignored large parts of my complaint completely, and gave the unlikely explanation that the building manager did not reply to my emails because he was out of the building when they arrived. Obviously Savills only expect their staff to reply to emails if they arrive when they are there, and I can only surmise that this atrocious level of customer service is common across the entire organisation, because the head of customer services actually told me that this situation keeps happening. If you are looking for a building to be managed, don't waste your time asking Savills. That said what I would advise people to do is complain to Carole Bratt as Savills suggest. Not because this will help (at one point she actually said she wasn't obliged to speak to me because I had a complaint going through the property redress scheme - and this is the attitude of Savills's director of customer service!), and my experience is that she will get an 'investigation' done which will ignore the parts of your complaint they don't like and exonerate Savills completely. The reason you should complain is that you can then get redress from the Property Redress Scheme - it may not get you much money and they won't make Savills do anything other than give you money, but if enough people do it, Savills atrocious attitude to customers will become economically unviable. The only way to force them to do anything is to take them to the tribunal. Update December 2019 - I have finally had an email from the building manager to say they have talked to the building management company about CCTV. This is action his manager told me he would take a year before. Speedy Savills!... Read more
