Latest Reviews for Centrick Property - Birmingham

Appalling terms, tell you there are damages which are just normal wear and tear, nothing you would worry about with any other rented property, try to charge you for cleaning charges which are extortionate. They're awful, I've never experienced anything like it and have rented multiple properties - avoid like the plague!

GetAgent Review - this review has passed our basic verification procedure.

Shockingly abysmal service with poor communication and outright rudeness/disregard for the client.

1) Never cared to explain their procedures.
2)Despite my repeatedly asking for explanation/communication, outright refused to answer my telephone calls.
3) Extreme difficulty contacting thier staff. VEry rare for office phone to be answered; exceptionally rare for mobile phone to be answered. Often felt I was talking to a wall!
4) Many microdepartments within the company with no one point of communication for the client. Instead I had to speak to one person for finding a client, another for agreeing rent, a third for the contract etc, giving the client an uneasy sense of 'passing the buck'.
5) Generally, when a client asks a question, it is preferable to listen then answer. And not to ignore then act in isolation without the client's awareness, assuming you know what is 'best for the client'. Until you have listened to a client, you cannot assume you know their ask of you!
Clients are not stupid and do not deserve to be disrespected as such.
6)In summary, whilst you deliver your duty, the way in which it is delivered is APPALLING! Abysmal communication and sheer disrespect resulting in a most distasteful experience.

I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS company to anyone.

Interestingly my tenant also said Centrick was the worst agent she had ever dealt with. I only just met the tenant but this independent view substantiated my own experience.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM. First of all the conditions of their contract are abusive (how could I know if it's the first time I rent a property?). They charge unreasonable amounts for the most stupid things. When you move out, they try to squeeze you and take as much as they can from your deposit.

I can't believe they have positive reviews. All the tenants I have talked to are of my same opinion. Honestly, avoid any kind of relation with this agency!

GetAgent Review - this review has passed our basic verification procedure.

Completely avoid this company like a plague, constant mis informed, lies to my face by the "fantatsic" Tom Hayden who I would personally blame for the very poor service myself and many others have experienced and so much more I don't have the patience to write!!!

The management with this agency is poor. I have never came cross any agency like this before.
They are unprofessional, careless and just far too laid back about your concerns. They don’t take any client seriously. If I did have a lot of time and choice I would never wanted to stay with them but unfortunately I had no other option due to the tight timing we had.
The property meant to be ready few days a go but it wasn’t and their disorganisation and poor communication cost us a lot.

One of the worst companies I've had to deal with.
They took the deposit down straight away and decided to do all the checks to which I had around 4-5 emails asking for different things.
To then they said I need a guarantor as I don't earn enough which isnt true at all as what they was saying at first is that i do earn enough.
Front there they wanted me to place a upfront payment of £3500 if I didn't get a guarantor which again was completely different to what was being said at the beginning of our talks.
They kept the deposit and went.

I highly suggest that no one works with this company and they're unorganized, sloppy and clearly just a scam at the end of the day.

Although I didn't rent a property with them, they have been professional and helpful. They have a good choice of properties in their areas, well maintained and tastefully furnished. I've been in touch with Michael, who provided a great customer service and put a genuine effort in cutting me a good deal. My budget was quite tight, so in the end no agreement was made, but he was definitely one of the few agents I trusted among all those I met. Should I need any propery in the future, I'll surely call them first.

The most unprofessional and disorganised company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

First, I have had to send three different agents my residence permit details. It seems like they have no way of keeping track of anything at all.

Second, my husband and I renewed our contract about a month before its original end date. And still, the day before the original end date, we get emailed asking us if we would like to renew our tenancy and what to do to vacate the property if not. Again, it seems the agent emailing us had no idea we had already renewed the contract.

What led to me finally writing this poor review was when an agent knocked on our door with somebody else, thinking that the property was vacant... I opened the door in disbelief, and when I mentioned that we had recently renewed our contract, the agent said "oh that's probably why we thought it was vacant" as if that was reasonable. If I had not been home, the two of them would have just walked into our apartment and probably scared my husband to death, as he was sleeping due to working nights.

I really should have warned the poor guy with the agent to not get involved with this company but I didn't think of it at the moment, so I'm writing this review now hoping to deter others from making our mistake.

They are all completely useless. They never answer the phone, I usually have to send up to five emails each on several email addresses before they respond months later. I have been into their offices several times because it's the only way to get them to listen. I had to report one of the agents for being unbelievably rude over email (his boss seemed shocked so hopefully he got in trouble). I've had major maintenance issues that took four months to resolve. They refused to give us compensation for any of this. Even before we moved in, we had a million reasons to be angry with them. They abandoned us in the rain because they "forgot" we had a viewing scheduled, they didn't send us our contract in time, they gave us contradictory information about what to sign and who needed to sign it.

The whole experience has been like watching Stath Lets Flats (if you haven't seen it, you should). They're so incompetent, it makes you wonder what they do all day in that fancy office.

The only positive I can think of is that we like our flat and we got a good deal.

I was due to move into a new ‘luxury’ development called Knights House in Sutton Coldfield in January 2020. This was delayed until February due to the apartment not being fully finished. When I did move in finally, I was greeted by work men/developers in the apartment. As I left, they could be clearly be heard talking about the fact they didn’t know someone was moving in and that the apartment wasn’t finished.

Over the course of 3 months, I have been living in a mostly unfinished, built by toddlers apartment full of half finished jobs and half attempted work. I was left without a shower for over 2 months, electrical goods weren’t wired in when I moved in, bathroom wasn’t finished, painting and finishes to the apartment weren’t completed and still aren’t today.

I have no hot water, a complaint that has gone mostly ignored, my bathroom has suffered leaks this entire time, even from the above apartment because the bathrooms were so poorly finished and installed. I’m currently watching all the water drip into my apartment from a leak and hole in my ceiling. Fantastic. Window ledges are falling off. A walk in wardrobe - that’s basically a hole in the wall minus all the fittings - 3 months later. Still a hole in the wall.

The short story is, the apartments in the building I have seen, are such poor quality! I would highly recommend not moving into these apartments and renting with Centrick!, I have spoken with several residents who have all had similar issues as myself. Even contractors can often be heard discussing what a botched job this building is.

Luxury living this is not. I’ve been on a building site for months, living in less than expected and advertised standards, yet being charged full rent. When I did finally put in a written complaint about 8 weeks ago... nothing happened, no one contacted me or addressed it. Brushed under the carpet.

This is really disappointing, I work local and have lived local for years and when I saw this development I was so excited to be able to become a resident of the building, right at the heart. Instead, I’ve been living a nightmare. A nightmare made worse by lockdown and tight budgets. Although, all the issues I pointed out were done so before lockdown and before the virus made an impact so they can’t use it as an excuse.

Additionally; the standard of care afforded to the communal errors is disgusting. The litter and dust from work men is everywhere, I’ve almost slipped on plastic on the communal staircase twice in 2 months. I’ve been staring at the same piece of plastic for weeks just left. If ever there was a fire alarm and we were rushing down those stairs... I dread to think of the accidents that could happen.

So much lost potential.

Honest review - Centrick helped my partner & I find a nice apartment in the centre of Birmingham, all was well until we decided to move out. Because we were on their "nil deposit scheme", they decided to charge us nearly £300. When we left our apartment, we left it in the same condition it was given to us, and even though on their inventory report, they noted damages, and even with photo evidence provided by myself, they still pursued amounts - the landlord had initially tried to charge us over £300 for a new bathroom door, even though it was damaged, and when Centrick saw it was damaged when we moved in, they lowered it to £30 - still ridiculous. After going back and fourth several times, with evidence, they gave up and filed a claim against the insurance company Let Alliance. Let Alliance then even saw all the evidence and said it wasn't right they were trying to charge us £300, and got in touch with Centrick, but Centrick are money grabbers and still wouldn't reduce it. We have since given up, as we have moved into a new place and want to put it behind us, so we're having to be nearly £300 out of pocket.

Honestly, they provide nice apartments, BUT they will completely screw you over when you decide to leave.

They are honestly the most useless property managers I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

I have needed my key fob replacing for 9 months now which I have raised with Chris Hill and Brogan Lewis on multiple occasions, but they have done nothing and do not respond. To this day, I am still having to tailgate people through the communal entrance just to access my own property and it is utterly ridiculous how I am paying for this level of service. A bunch of cowboys as far as I am concerned.

Centrick Property took over the management of the flat I was rented. It was much needed change. I found their staff helpful and responsive.

Booked viewings and the estate agent never turned up - or responded to calls/emails. Incredibly unprofessional service over the phone. Please stay away from this estate agent - unprofessional and very poor quality service and value. Really disappointed by them.

firstly i asked to have a virtual viewing and they said yes okay but i never received the video and when i call to ask why they said my details were not on the system, the cheek!! i decide to book an actual viewing because that would be the only way i would be able to see it and they confirmed my appointment. i travelled three hours only to get a call from them 40 mins before the viewing time that someone is “out sick” and she was not able to leave. i think this is a lie and they were just plain lazy. i wasted so much money and time on that day. their communication skills are poor and you have to chase them for answers

Awful.
Staff are rude, Take weeks to reply to your maintenance requests.
Not helpful at all.
You pay a very expensive deposit for them to deduct almost half of it if not all of it off you for reasons out of your control (Eg. mould on the bathroom walls even though there is no window in any bathrooms to stop this, Freezer not being defrosted properly)
Provide you with flimsy furniture such as dining room chairs which if you sit on and they snap, you have to pay for.
Leather sofas have rips in, which the previous tenants would have been charged for but yet still was not replaced out of that money????
lift is always broken which leads down to the car park and bins.
