Absolutely horrible customer service. They take an eternity to respond (if they respond which is rare). Nightmare slow service (except when taking your money).
Avoid these unprofessional money grabbers who will not be there when you need them.
The London store is hardly ever open and if you want something done - good luck - they demand money upfront and then take their time, ignore phone calls and emails and give you every excuse under the sun. I've lost track of how many times I've been given the excuse that my emails were in their spam folder! Very convenient?!
I asked repeatedly for quotes and after about half a dozen attempts I got the most unprofessional looking email quote ever!
We live in a fast paced world and everyone else seems to respond to emails and phone calls within hours or the next day, maybe 2 days at the most, except this lot.
Avoid this lot like the plague. They gave no respect for their clients. After they take your money they ignore you.
Oh - I bought a 2017 model ebike and reviewed a 2016 model!
And to top it off I did not receive the chain guard/cover when I finally received the bike. They promised to send it out to me by post. Multiple emails and 2+ months later I'm still waiting.
Update(30/06/2017):
Only after this review did I get a response asking me what I wanted so they could fix things between us.
I emailed the Camden branch saying I'd be in 29/06. I got a response that the guy would not be in but someone would be there to take bike and sort it out.
A friend arrived to pick up bike and pointed out that 2 out of 3 bolts were missing that hold the motor in place! At that point I decided I wanted a refund. If they're that careless then I want nothing to do with them.
When I arrived at the bike shop the guy there had no idea I'd be there or even why. He connected me to the guy who deals with the electric bikes on his phone. I wanted a refund I told him repeatedly (after pointing out everything I was unhappy with) and he basically ignored me and told me I had to wait another week until he was in and he'd look at it and decide what he wanted to.
I've emailed their main email service and stated I will take them to court if I do not receive a timely refund. I bought a 2017 ex demo advertised as in good as new condition and received a 2016 model that was missing crucial motor bolts, no chain guard that they promised would be nailed to me, and gears that kept failing. Amongst other set up faults.
The dishonest advertising of year model upset me. Take note of sellers response below who does not respond to year model.
The guy who was in the Camden store was polite and said that the Electric bike sales are all nice guys. I want my very hard earned money to be well spent and get value in return and great customer service. Nice guys? Not in my book.
If you want a reliable, honest and timely experience I'd advise to look elsewhere.... Read more

I bought two gazelle bikes at the London branch about 3 months ago and have since had them serviced by the store. I love the Gazelle bikes and feel that I had good advice from the store about which model to buy following various test rides. The current manager, Richard, in particular has been patient, knowledgeable and helpful.
My only criticism of the buying process was the limited number of bikes and bike sizes that can be on display in such a small store but this is common to all of the ebike shops I visited in London and I think this will change as electric bikes become more popular. The store has a very good website and they did source a bike that I was interested in from another branch and the fact that the store is part of a national network of shops is another big plus.... Great selection of bikes, amazing offers and above all staff always willing to help and nothing too difficult. One of the very few cycle dealerships (in fact possibly the only one) who do finance agreements online and have a full selection online. Selection of bikes and dealer network spread across the country. Converted a Brompton to electric and now purchased a Gazelle electric. Just one issue is that the selection of bikes is addictive..Will buy again from here!... Read more

Well what can I say! I had some issue with my conversion and was disappointed with the delays however the owner sorted it out and offered an alternative solution very promptly. This now restores my faith into this shop immensely. I have been a repeat customer and can say that these guys are very professional, polite and knowledgeable. Mistakes and issues happen but being professional enough to deal with the issues is a quality very few businesses possess. I can't say the same about other cycle stores as I have had really bad experiences but I thoroughly recommend The Electric Transport Shop . 5 STARS.... Read more

I went to the London shop. It's a small shop but it's packed with a good collection of bikes, and the staff are surely knowledgeable. The prices are competitive too. Come along and try one out -- I tried 3 -- before deciding if you want to get one. You can see these guys are trusted because hanging around the shop you'll see plenty of customers leaving their bikes for works. My only complaint was that a delayed shipment of my bike was not communicated to me. In the end, the bike is here and excellent as ever.... Read more
