The agent who was in charge of our letting was James. When showing us round he promised many things such as the re-grouting of a bathroom and a professional clean before we moved in. After you have paid he completely denies he ever said these things and says you agreed to the flat ‘As seen’. A phrase which he so rigidly stuck to we expect to move in with him in the lounge as this was technically ‘As seen’.
When we were handed the sets of keys, some of which did not even work, we went to take a look at the flat. The professional clean had undoubtedly never happened. There was half eaten food in the fridge, rubbish under the beds and even ash in the ashtrays. Also despite insisting the flat was ‘As seen’ some of the nicer items of furniture had been removed.
When we tried to ring James explaining this, coincidentally for the next few days whenever we rang we would be told ‘he is out on a viewing’, ‘he is out the back’, ‘he has just had to dash out of the office’ and our favourite - ‘he is on the toilet’. None of us have been able to get through to him despite calling on so many various occasions.
Seeing as James had apparently disappeared of the face of the earth the only suggestion they had was to call the landlady directly. Which makes you wonder what on earth the extortionate agency fees you pay are for, when I asked this I was informed that they do not manage the properties so I genuinely am at a loss as to what that charge is for. The service was terrible, the communication with our agent close to non-existent. I cannot stress how much we would advise against using these agents for lettings.
We received a fantastic service from KFH Highgate. I would highly recommend because things aren’t always straightforward so you need an experienced team behind you. Chris Taylor and his team were always professional and reliable. We couldn’t fault the service we received.
I am renting a room in property managed by KFH for 7 months. For 2 of these months I have not have a door on my bedroom as it came off its hinges and KFH have been glacial in replacing it, despite frequent reminders and requests for updates. We are still waiting for confirmation of when this will be replaced. Additionally, the washing machine regularly (70-80%) stops midway through the cycle and has to be restarted. KFH have said that since it technically still functions they have refused to fix/replace it. They don't deal well with the upkeep of the property.
D&D - well done and thank you! We sold our flat in Finsbury Park recently after having had it on the market for several months; although there was no immediacy to sell we were aware that D&D kept up the initiative to maintain interest in our property. Once a buyer made an offer D&D acted as a very useful interface between buyer/seller to ensure that the inevitable hitches in the last few weeks and days were addressed allowing the sale completion to proceed without a hitch or delay. She has been so helpful and patient. The referencing process was a bit stressful because we were in a hurry to get the keys (because of holidays and jobs abroad) but everything worked out so well.

Terrible experience with this estate agent. I rented a property in Highgate through them, which was a nightmare from start to finish. I was hurried to move in only to find that things like blinds facing a busy street, had failed to be installed in the property, as I requested in the contract, raw wood stairs not carpeted as promised, the property was dirty, although just refurbished (old fish left in a fridge to rot). Once the blind problem had been resolved, it was clear that Dexters wanted nothing more to do with management of the property and revealed that the property was actually managed by the landlord. I have rented in London for over 10 years and never dealt with a more difficult, irresponsible, problematic individual. Before departure, after paying my rent in full, I requested an earlier checkout as I was in the process of moving country and cleaned the property professionally. It made sense, as the landlord would be able to get double rent effectively. Georgie Cole from Dexters decided to instruct the landlord not to approve. She was rude, unhelpful and completely acting in the interests of the landlord without any respect for a tenant who had paid rent on time and kept the property in excellent condition, there was no discussion. You're a disgusting, greedy agency and I hope that as many people as possible will find out how you treat your tenants. I wish companies like you took responsibility for your lack of professionalism and suffer the consequences. It's a shame that the bloated London property market encourages such poor behaviour from agencies such as this.

Do not use this firm to manage your property. To say they don't return phone calls or emails is an understatement. In the time it takes you to finally speak to them, you may as well have actually done the work yourself.
Also, absolutely appalling customer service. When the "team" managing my property were unavailable and I asked for a callback, I was told they couldn't promise a callback as they couldn't hold a gun to the head of the person managing my property...
