We’ve had a great experience with Maria when looking for a flat so far. She is professional, polite and helpful - she is responsive and remembers what we’re looking for and only sends relevant properties (unlike some other agents, either sending whatever or trying to push people into buying something unsuitable). I am writing this review to express my concern at the way I have been treated during interview stage. I have now been invited on 3 separate occasions by a recruiter working on behalf of Martyn Gerrard for an initial interview with Shelly Baker ( HR Manager), however each time I was given hours notice that it would need to be rescheduled without any consideration of my time or efforts going into prepare for the conversation. On the 4th time I declined to go further with the process.
Details: The first time I was booked in for interview was 12/04/2024 at 13:30. On that day the recruiter called to ask me if I could change the time of the interview to 14:30, due the fact that Shelly was delayed by another appointment, which I agreed on as these things can happen. At 14:00 the recruiter called me again on behalf of Shelly, to inform me that she could not make it. I was asked to move the interview to Monday 15th April at 13:00. I agreed to do so, as I was very interested in the role and the company, particularly as Martyn Gerrard seemed to take pride in investing in people and supporting them throughout their career.
On Monday 15th April at 9:30, the recruiter called on behalf of Shelly to cancel the interview appointment and ask to reschedule. This would have been the 4th time.
At this point I felt I was treated extremely unprofessionally and made me question if this is the way that Maryn Gerrard conducts business and treats external clients, how would they treat staff once they had signed the contract?
I have informed the recruiter that I am not interested in pursing anymore the process, as I did not feel that I was treated professionally or with any respect.
I'm writing this review to express my disappointment in the way the "HR Manager" has conducted the interview process and I hope that someone within the organisation will pick this review up and address it accordingly.

The first buyer unfortunately pulled out because our solicitors were slow to answer queries but immediately Cem was on it and found us a cash buyer in a difficult market. He was able to negotiate a good price and has been really supportive with all queries we have had. Cem has a great and unassuming manner and goes out of his way to help. Thank you so much to Annie and Mark at Martyn Gerrard Kentish Town to provide me lots of supports in property search, viewings, and purchase. Long words for short - they have very good contact and swift replies, and they have absolutely good knowledge for the area.
It took me only a week to have the viewing done, offer negotiated&accepted and mortgage approved. Efficent! And I finally got the keys of my new home yesterday!
PS: The first property I was trying to purchase was unfortunately rejected by lender after nearly 2 month into the process. If Annie and Mark didn't recommened this current property to me (even before the ad was posted), I would be nearly homeless by now.

A lovely bunch of very professional sales agents, fair, open, honest, solved problems, and sold out flat very quickly and over the asking by enough to pay their own fee! I had some concern they weren’t local enough, being in Kentish Town when we were Tufnell Park, but this was not true at all, as the sales price showed.
The process was well managed, and even before we signed up it was always the same person who called me, gently and politely nudging me without pressure.
Martyn Gerrard Kentish Town are neither the cheapest nor the most expensive agent around but in my experience they are definitely the nicest.

The level of service from Martyn Gerrard, and Annie in particular, is exceptional. MG sold our flat in Kentish Town and helped us through some set backs along the way, always remaining calm, reassuring, ethical and professional.
From the outset, the service from Martyn Gerrard came across as personal and realistic. Keatons overpriced the flat which put us off immediately, and Martyn Gerrard priced quite close to the final sale price - they clearly understand the market well and have built good relationships with buyers who are looking in the area.
The marketing material was exceptional, with a stunning 3D video tour which I am sure helped during Covid. The communication was also very good, with Annie checking that viewing times were suitable, and obviously being considerate of my home working constraints, and the needs of the neighbours in the building.
Finally, Annie really shone during setbacks - she has a calm, rational approach, and used her experience of similar situations to reassure us of the pathways forward. With support from Annie and Mark, we were reassured we could get past these problems, and we did! They were clearly transparent with us and potential buyers, and that was the key to our sale.
I would not hesitate to recommend Martyn Gerrard to anyone selling or buying in Kentish Town.

RENTERS BEWARE - We moved into our flat approximately 10 months ago with an agreement that we would stay for a fixed term of one year which would then transition into a periodic rolling contract. We were contacted twice ahead of the expiry of the fixed term with a proposal to renew, which we declined in favour of the pre-agreed rolling contract.
Without warning or explanation an employee of Martyn Gerrard delivered a section 21 "no fault" eviction notice for us to leave the flat. To make matters worse, the eviction date is the same date as when my partner is expected to give birth to our first child.
It would appear that Martyn Gerrard does not have any regard for the welfare of their customers if they believe that they can profit or take advantage of you in anyway.
UPDATE - Martyn Gerrard contacted us 10 days after serving the eviction with another "offer" (threat) to withdraw the eviction and to extend the lease. It appears that lease renewal is an income stream for MG which enables them to charge additional fees to landlords (they have a renewal consultant employed to do this). If the tenant does not agree to this then they will offer to evict and replace the tenant using this tactic and will secure another new-tenant contract fee.
Through this lens it appears as though Martyn Gerrard and employees are incentivised to have tenants sign as many lease renewals as possible and are willing to blackmail their customers with eviction. They are willing to misuse section 21 eviction laws to achieve these ends - laws which have been acknowledged to be unfair and in need of replacement.
This is a serious conflict of interest and a warning which should be flagged here in order to benefit the wider general public. After this experience I would strongly advise prospective tenants and landlords to reconsider their options and take their business elsewhere if possible.

Martin Collins at MG was the agent for a property I recently bought. I found the flat on Rightmove, but liaised a fair amount with Martin to arrange viewings, ask questions and generally for help getting through the (somewhat frustrating) purchase process. Martin was quick to respond and (largely due to his good relationship with the seller) made things happen and got answers where the solicitors and freeholders and banks failed. By far the best agency I've had to deal with in the process of buying property. Excellent tailored service - very focused on the client needs. Other agencies can sometimes waste your time making you visit places that are noting in line with your specifications, likely because they get measured on the number of client visits they make. Martyn Gerrard, on the contrary, is focused on your needs, pay careful attention to what type of property you are looking for and provide real value-for-money. Can't recommend them enough (especially Martin Collins who was wonderful to us)
