It is a competitive market out there but Charlie has helped us find great places to live and helped us move quick enough to get them. Unfortunately couldn’t give 0 stars, Unprofessional at all, avoid them! I’ve been 2 years in tenancy with that estate, never missing one payment even during the Covid-19 as was in furlough. Left me and flat mates without oven for almost 5 months, every email sent it they just ignored until my last day in. Afterwards they just ask moneys for some damage in the house and deep cleaning. Perfect right about the professional cleaning as may be not clean in professional, but what about be charged £40 for a windows handle?! Also nobody apologies too or make any discount due the oven issue. Great job Foxton, doesn’t matter which branch but I’ll never choose and advise again.... Read more

I originally appointed a prominent estate agents with a heavy advertising campaign, hoping to save money. The marked difference between this agent and dealing with Roberto and Kane from Foxtons in Brixton, is priceless. Throughout my property sale they were always professional and knowledgeable and a reassuring presence during the challenging times. I would recommend paying the extra for this level of service because the stress of selling can increase if you don’t have the right estate agent. In looking for a house for me and 2 others to move in to even our most basic search criteria was completely ignored by every agent we spoke to. All the properties recommended to us were a complete rip off compared to others we saw with other agencies At one point we were even recommended to view a 2 bed despite the fact we were 3 friends moving in. Very poor customer service. When I went to pick up my keys for a rental flat, I didn't bring my passport. I promised to return in 20 minutes, but traffic caused me to be 5 minutes late. Despite my pleas, no one at Foxtons waited and the office was shuddered when I returned, resulting in £350 in hotel and storage costs over the weekend. Worse, the week before I moved out, I couldn't get the keys to my new flat because Foxtons hadn't provided my tenant reference to my new landlord - despite numerous phone calls and emails from both me and my new landlord. With the lockdown, I had nowhere else to go, so was forced to stay in the flat for two extra nights until the Monday morning when I could get an answer. There hasn't been any apology or admission of guilt - and forget about any lockdown solidarity - I've been chanrged £171.42 for the pleasure of being forced to stay in the flat. I even did them the favour of making a video of my flat (plus cleaning and tidying ahead of time), which didn't get me any favours - not even a thank you or acknowledgement - nothing. And I haven't even mentioned the filthiness and squalor of the flat. From my experience, Foxtons charges a lot, yet holds its tenants in contempt.... Read more

At the last couple of months of approx 16 months of communications with Foxtons Brixton re selling a property - Roberto Albrecht was assigned to liaise with us during lockdown. Although there had certainly been positive periods of negotiation re prospective buyers, at times I felt the Foxtons representative was biased towards the prospective buyers needs, which I expressed in an email to Foxtons and undoubtedly left a bad taste in my mouth! This was certainly not the case with Roberto. He was a breath of fresh air and very quickly restored my somewhat diminished good feeling about Foxton's service. Roberto is very friendly, refreshingly enthusiastic, optimistic, genuinely caring, always responded promptly, an excellent negotiator and is a joy to speak with. I felt he struck an excellent balance between being fair and supportive of both the seller's and buyer's interests. This felt very good and reassuring and with his efficiency and vibrant energy driving things forward during this difficult period - we finally managed to agree a completion date! I had a very positive experience with Foxtons and my agent, Richard. I've recently been relocating to South London, and it's been my first time renting in London, which was a pretty daunting experience. Richard was very happy to answer my many beginners' questions, and always told me what expectations of mine were realistic given my budget and other requirements. In other words, he gave me the best advice, rather than telling me what I wanted to hear. He's easy to get along with and drove me to all the viewings. In the end I made one offer with Foxtons but had another offer accepted on a really great place elsewhere so I went with that. Nonetheless, I am very thankful to Richard, not only for the good service but because if I hadn't gone on several viewings with him, then I wouldn't have got as good a feel for the market. Wouldn’t recommend rental with Brixton team. We advertise our property with sales team end of last year, we are not in the country so we did Airbnb and it was challenging getting through the door because of not many free days and the timing between guests bookings. We were advised by rental team to short let with them as this would be easier getting through the door because it will be only managed by Foxtons. They found a tenant and offered 2 year’s contracts but we did highlight from the beginning our priority is to sell. I did ask what’s going to happened with selling side if we agree with 2 years contact and they said the tenant need to live at our property minimum 6 months, and after we can come to agreement give them 3 months notice, etc. After signing the contract we were told we can’t sell for the next 2 years, otherwise we will be paying penalties. The agent lied to us saying we never discussed sales part and we only discussed taking the advertising for sales down. We also can’t redraw as we already sign contract! We feel we have been tricked into the deal, it’s been over a week and we still haven’t heard back in how we can resolve the situation and the tenants supposed to move in on the March 1st despite chasing and calling them! After signing the contract the communication gone quiet even though I did kindly ask to let me know the cost of fixing one of the shower, on which of our personal belongings should we remove (bear in mind we are not in UK so we needed some time to organise this). To get the rental deal with us they could ring 5 times a day, after signing almost “0” communication. We are very disappointed with miss leading information and how we have been treated! Cannot recommend highly enough! Incredible service from start to finish. Towards the end of 2019 Foxtons in Brixton sold my property in record time in a very challenging environment. Not only did the flat sell above asking price, I was in the position where I could pick from a number of buyers competing for the property. Given the market challenges they faced, and the desirability of the property (ex local), the speed and efficiency of the service was incredible. Thomas Lebbern and Abs Morafa were great partners throughout, providing ongoing guidance and support. Their attention to detail and thoroughness was vital when dealing with a very challenging legal process. Will @ Foxtons in Brixton has been absolutely fantastic with finding a buyer for my property and managing them through to completion. I could not rate them highly enough. Will kept the momentum going when we had a number of buyers fall through (for various reasons) - and each time, they renewed the search for a buyer with as much enthusiasm as the first time. Clodagh who found my eventual buyer made the process as stress-free as possible, and the offer negotiation was very smooth. She gave me plenty of confidence in the process, and Foxtons have been amazing from beginning to end. I'd originally put my property on the market through another Estate Agent, but I had a very poor experience and no viewings. Thoroughly recommended. After the best part of a year on the market with two other agents we decided to try Foxtons (Brixton branch). Their communication was excellent right from the start, with regular correspondence and updates every few days - something we found distinctly lacking from previous agents. Despite not having as much as an offer in the previous year Foxtons were able to find a buyer for our property within one month. They were instrumental in chasing up the necessary parties and coordinating well with legal teams. The whole team were fantastic but particular praise must go to Joanna Sutherland and Tom Lebbern, who worked hard throughout the sale and always kept us updated with honest feedback. Mate of mine tried to leave his contract early so we could live together. He found a new tenant - no loss whatsoever to Foxtons in terms of the return / commission generated on the property. Charged him a £300 fee for 'commission lost', essentially taking advantage of his wish to leave his contract early. Not what I'd called ethical practice. Not the sort of company to fail to enforce some spurious clause of your tenancy if it can make them a couple of quid. Capitalism at its 'best'.... Read more

Richard was by the far the best letting agent I've ever dealt with...and I've met a lot of them. He was tireless in his search for the right property type for us and even though we had super-specific criteria, he found us the perfect place! He didn't inundate us with properties he knew wouldn't work for us, he was really responsive and always kept in touch even if the market was slow. Renting with Foxtons was a really bad experience. Maintenance issues where never dealt with in a timely manner (one month without a fridge, leaks ruining floors and carpets) or worst (one of the maintenance team that was sent to our flat for a blocked pipe pretended that our dish washer was not working, took it away and had a new one installed at cost). The flats offered by Foxtons are usually nicer than the rest of the market - but having several water damages, broken appliances for weeks and holes in the ceiling really ruins it. As a landlord I would not recommend them either as their cost saving policy usually leads to long term damage of the flat. To be avoided.... Read more

I am sharing this information simply so that people do not make the same mistake as me. My advice would be: • DO NOT rent, let or sell your house with Foxtons Brixton. • AVOID Alexandra Reeves, Luke Tubb, and Lalise Fufa from Foxtons property management. Overview: Harrasment from Foxtons Flat was trashed on move in day Property managers are useless I rented a 2 bed flat in Brixton over the summer with a friend, as we both had short term jobs based in Central London over this period. We had to pay our deposit and rent up front which I expected and all went smoothly. The property was up for sale as well, but we were ensured before signing that if someone did buy the property we would still be able to live there legally, this was even reassured in our contract. HARRASSED BY FOXTONS BEFORE WE EVEN MOVED IN However, less than a month before we moved in Luke Tubb from Foxtons Brixton began to harass both of us via email and phone calls virtually every day. He had informed us that the Landlord had a buyer for the flat and asked if we would consider moving out to another flat, reminding us the first time we were not obliged because we already had a contract. Once we declined the offer he harassed us daily and called us, emailing other properties for rent in that time period. ALL of them were over double the price per month we were already paying. Bearing in mind we had ALREADY PAID UPFRONT AND HAD A CONTRACT. THERE WAS NO BREAK CLAUSE IN THE CONTRACT. One of the suggestions was a 3 bed flat in Oval which was £5000 a month, which was an absolutely ridiculous price compared to the £750 a month we had paid for the Brixton Flat already. He tried to guilt trip us by saying that the Landlord was going to lose a lot of money if we didn’t move out. We had no contact in person from the Landlord all of this time, I am unsure as to whether what Luke Tubb was telling us was actually true. I had to keep reminding Luke Tubb we already had a contract and would not be able to afford another place, if we had to move out we would be homeless. Furthermore, as there was no break clause in the contract I knew I had the right to decline. We still got harassed every day and it was a very stressful time. In order to make him stop I had to go into the Foxtons branch in Brixton myself, even though I was living 200 miles away at this point. I took a printed out copy of our tenancy agreement and went through it with him just to reinforce that what he was trying to do, to break our tenancy, was against the law. I have no idea what his motives for doing this were, however after he dropped the harassment, there were absolutely no repercussions legally for carrying on living there. The Landlord sold the flat, the contract was passed onto the new Landlord and we lived there without breaking our side of the tenancy. All of that harassment was for absolutely nothing. ON MOVING IN DAY THE FLAT WAS TRASHED On the day we moved in at 9am on a Monday Alexandra Reeves did not have the keys for the property, she had to trace them to another one of their branches where the previous tenants had left them at the weekend. When we finally got into the flat it was completely trashed. She had not bothered to check the state of the property beforehand even though in section 18.13 of our contract it was their duty to pay for professional cleaning before we moved in. There was a soiled used mattress and bedding in the living area, which indicated to us that a third person had been living in the flat. The fridge was broken and rusty, filled with mouldy food and the freezer had been left wide open and had become a huge ice cube which had dripped flooding half of the kitchen. There was clothes, rubbish and cigarette butts all over the floors and there was a shopping trolley inside. There was no clean space on any of the floors to put our belongings so we had to wipe down the dining room table and balance all of our things in a pile on top of that until the flat was cleaned. I usually share positive experiences on social media, but I do believe that customers should share both kind of experiences after what we suffered with Foxtons so that no one gets frustrated like we did. In brief, we approached Foxtons from overseas to rent an apartment for 3 months and we have chosen the apartment/flat after viewing the online images on their website/app which happened to be photoshopped even though we have communicated with a sales agent “Alex” who handed over the keys at Foxtons Brixton office claiming that she viewed the flat before handing over the keys. We were shocked when we arrived to the apartment/flat as it was not cleaned professionally (to be accurate Dirty) and the Mattress was uncovered with big stains on it not to mention too many things needed Maintenence from the kitchen (water tap leakage, dismantled wooden parts broken tiles) to the fridge where the freezer door was broken as well as the toilet/loo shower temperature regulator was not working and the shower hose leakage plus the stains on the carpet to burn lamps and so on... horrible! As per the agreement/contract Foxtons & the landlord were supposed to secure WiFi connection in the flat but they didn’t so after getting an approval from the landlord we purchased WiFi for 3 months from Vodafone UK and the amount was Not refunded. Also before you leave the apartment you should get a professional cleaning company which we did but because we did not get the cleaning company via Foxtons they deducted £240 for one bedroom flat! Cherry on top of the cake, Foxtons sent an email claiming that there were some damages that didn’t exist when we handed over the keys and deducted the deposit! Foxtons do not respond to your emails promptly when there is anything related to Maintanance or deposit refund but when they need a payment they follow up all the time. Everyone should be careful when dealing with Foxtons as they do NOT return your deposit as per the contract and email communications. Worst experience with a real estate agency we’ve ever had. Foxtons live up to their reputation to perfection. I have never paid so much for so little. Everything was fantastic until move in day. I paid the deposit..months rent and service fees over £4000...I asked for it to be professionally cleaned and certain things fixed. The day I moved in ruined the experience everything up until this was great.
