If I could rate 0 stars I most definitely would! DO NOT TRUST STONEWELL ESTATES AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Basically I went to see a property Stonewell estates had advertised. Karen from stonewell estates showed me around and insisted I pay a holding fee that day if I want the opportunity of getting the flat … btw this was for my mum. Once I got home I paid the holding fee. 2 weeks followed hadn’t heard anything. So i called for an update and was told to wait and they would get back in contact. Heard nothing for another month . So I called And all I can say is Karen was so rude to me on the phone just for simply asking about the property. I finally got an email saying mum hadn’t been accepted for the flat and we was like fair enough , we need our holding fee back. After numerous calls and getting nothing out of Karen either by phone or email. The last phone call I had with Karen I asked for our money back, she was stuttering and said she would call back which she didn’t! So I went to my bank yesterday and reported her for fraud and i got my money back I hope they get a good telling off.... Read more

Poor aftercare experience while purchasing a property in Forysth Court, ME7 post code. Dirk and team will not help the buying process once initial figures have been agreed, which is unlike any other agent I have dealt with. First after accepting my offer on the house in writing, verifying my deposit & mortgage in principle, he refused to take the property off the market until I had a survey booked. Most lenders won't instruct a survey until the affordability checks are in complete which can take weeks. I explained this to Dirk and he refused to put it under offer publicly, until I said I would pull out. Second, after enlisting a lawyer for conveyancing, it was discovered that the service charge for the property was more than double than that advertised. Upon raising this with the agent, they did not try to help the situation. Yes, the information came from the initial buyer but it is the responsibility of the agent who are the middle man to broker a solution between buyer and seller. Neither did they apologise for the inconvenience which I would have thought would be customary in this situation. The estate agent also refused to help broker a deal for furniture between seller and buyer. After contacting the seller directly and bypassing the agent, the seller explained that he asked to be put in contact with me from the beginning and the estate agent also refused. Hence Dirk, manager at the estate agent blocked us from communicating for something that was of mutual interest. In the end the sale has now fallen through and with better customer service and management by the agent, potentially would have been fine.... Read more

Have a general distrust of Estate Agents , but was recommended to use Stonewell by a friend when i needed to sell my parents house which was in need of extensive modernisation . Found their service to be first class . They quickly assessed the potential value , marketed the property , and found a buyer within a short space of time , keeping me fully informed of all developments . Dreadful experience, arrived at 13:15 viewing at 13:05, they didn't show, spent 30 minutes with my heavily pregnant partner waiting in 21° heat walking up and down the road looking for the property. We had together tried to call them 25+ times while walking up and down. Had tried several times between 9:00-12:50 to call them to confirm the house number but no one could be bothered to pick up. After 30 minutes of waiting we walked to the estates agency for an explanation where we were met with a gentleman claiming to have been at the address calling us liars. Due to the sweltering heat you could clearly see he had not taken a step out of his air conditioned office.... 1) why did i not get my address confirmation? 2) why was no one their to answer calls all day? 3) why is a courtesy call not considered? 4) why was the office phones not forward onto a mobile number (if only 1 person was working)? 5) I feel very sorry if your attempting to sell your property though this company, as they seem incompetent in the most basic of administrative responsibilities. If stonewall sees this i would strongly investigate the individual working on the 03/07/19 as they are throwing your business down the drain...... Read more

My experience was unpleasant , several things went wrong with the service. Unfortunately these things can happen but it did make me question whether I would feel comfortable dealing with Stonewell again. One of the managers found the time to talk to me personally to apologize for how the matter was handled.
