This review is only regarding TAYLOR WIMPEY. i'm sure the other home builders are great! Absolutely awful build of property, to the extent that multiple tiles from the top of our block of flat fell onto not only the entrance of the property but also onto the roof of my car which was parked in our designated spot. This was within 4 months of moving into the property. They then claimed it was from adverse weather conditions so would not compensate for the poor build quality leaving me with a hefty bill for the damages! We also still have multiple communal issues that have not been dealt with, still! Following multiple lies from the site supervisor (FYI we are now on our 3rd site supervisor since the property was purchased) I have all but given up with the Taylor Wimpey and would recommend everyone to steer clear! UPDATE: after multiple year passing and more tiles coming off the roof every month they are finally doing an investigation into the roof and supposedly making the appropriate repairs! Now you'd think they would revisit this claim but apparently they are still not liable and i should take it up with the roofing contractor that Taylor Wimpey employed.... To my shock (sarcasm) this company has now gone bankrupt and Taylor Wimpey arent willing to do anything... Possibly one of the worst after sales teams i have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. PS they also lie when selling the property so please read the contract very carefully. As part of the sales pitch we were told we would have the opportunity to purchase the freehold of the flat only to find out via a letter around 3 years later that it had in fact already been sold when we purchased it.... Please avoid! Sales staff are very unpleasant and rude. We visited on a weekend and was met by an extremely unhelpful and rude member of staff who spoke to us with total disregard. Based on this we have decided not to proceed with a reservation here, despite being very interested in a plot they had available. If you do decide to put up with being spoke to poorly please have a look at the noise assessment for the site (available on the Crawley Council planning portal), and the implications of flight paths (directly above Forge Wood) if Gatwick airport were ever to have a second runway. Try Kilnwood Vale, the sales staff there are excellent and very helpful.... Read more
