Don't waste your time and money. In the cold weather of November, he turned off the heating system, and we only had heating for one hour at night, and the cold weather in that area is unbearable. The cold weather made our children sick. The hot water froze after three people took a bath, even though the capacity of the villa was for 14 people. He would turn off the lights in the yard at 10 o'clock at night. And the last thing is that there is a barbecue listed in the package, but on the last day he told us that he doesn't have a barbecue, and after discussion, he was convinced to prepare the barbecue quickly. Also, the WiFi wasn't good, and they turned it off at 11.... Read more

Had a lovely time at Bryn Llys at the end of August. This is an excellent place for a large group or family holiday because of the well-equipped kitchen and enormous dining room. The upstairs lounge is a beautiful space to relax in, full of comfy seating. We also loved the table tennis and darts in the games room. There is so much to do within easy reach and Carlo and Liz were happy to help us plan trips, including the best place to enjoy stargazing in the lovely dark skies.
The family rooms are spacious, with a mezzanine level for the children, comfortable beds and an ensuite. Everything was clean and in good working order, with plenty of hot water for relaxing showers after days climbing and swimming in beautiful Snowdonia.
The outside seating in the courtyard is beautiful and a great suntrap to hang out for breakfast, coffee, chatting and barbeque-ing. The grounds are lovely and there are brilliant walks straight from the door. A fantastic base to spend time in Snowdonia!... Read more

As two young people travelling and hiking in Europe for 6-months, our stay at Bryn Llys was a true highlight. Carlo’s kindness and generosity was deeply appreciated and brought light to our trip. We stayed 2 nights in our tent and 2 nights in our room, both were fantastic and the facilities were extremely clean. We will absolutely be back to use Bryn Llys as a base for future hiking adventures :)... Read more

We stayed at this lovely haven of nature for a close friends wedding just a few weeks ago. The owner Carlo and his team had worked reahard to ensure that the lovely secluded grounds were looking stunning. The accommodation and facilities were brilliant.

My first impression on arriving here was an emotional one! It was like stepping into the secret garden! Unfortunately I have had a heavy cold since being here and have hardly ventured out but what a perfect place to be unwell in! This is the perfect place to get away from our busy lives and to chill but near enough to be able to explore Llanberis, Snowdonia, Slate Museum and all the other areas of interest that are nearby! Zip World is five minutes away in the car! We had intended to explore the local area as well as enjoy the beauty of where we are staying but we will have to do that next time! The property is perfect and a lot of thought has clearly gone into it! What a lovely gesture to find milk in the fridge and a delicious cake waiting for us on our arrival! We have stayed in many places over the years but this has definitely come out on top! We were lucky enough to meet the lovely owner Carlo who was keen to make sure that we were OK. It is obvious that he has and is putting a lot of thought and work into here! I am quite fussy and I have really appreciated our first visit here even though it has been slightly ruined by being unwell. We have visited North Wales before, several times but now I am pleased that we have found the perfect place to return to over the years to come! We were gutted when our friend sold.his cottage that he had nearby but now we are happy to have come across this gem! I would highly recommend a.stay here and although we still have two nights left here I wanted to write this now before getting home and returning to work next week. This is a perfect place to come and unwind with your family and although one of our teenage sons has been home with me also unwell, the other has enjoyed walks to the Slate Museum and also Great Orme!... A beautifully located CL site, just outside the town of Bethesda but within easy walking distance. Each pitch is spacious, and the whole area is very tranquil. There's even a lovely little lake to walk around. The shower block is partially completed with two spotlessly clean toilets currently up and running with cold water available. It will no doubt be finished soon to provide full facilities. It's not a problem if you have your own onboard facilities. The water pressure to fill the aqua roll was excellent. 4G reception excellet. Grey and black water facilities first class. The site is very handy for exploring Snowdonia via car or if walking, the northeastern Snowdonia mountains are easily accessible, as is the Penrhyn Zipwire Experience, which is thoroughly recommended. If walking low level, the slate trail is across the road from the site entrance. The owners Carlo and Liz are accessible and very welcoming. In Bethesda itself, there are good Londis and Tesco Express stores, a cafe, and a handful of pubs. There are regular buses to Bangor and Bettws Y Coed from Bethesda. In summary, a really good little CL, in spectacular surroundings, to which we will definitely return.... Read more

The surrounding area is BEAUTIFUL.

What can I say! Bryn Llys is just wonderful. We stayed in Arosfa, the self catering static caravan last week with my husband and 1 year old son. The caravan is huge! a double bed and a single, both with lovely comfortable high quality mattresses and bedding. Carlo kindly lent us a travel cot in addition, which again was brand new, clean and perfect for our son. There is 2 little bathrooms, one with the best shower I have ever been in and plenty of hot water, it can also be used as a little bath for the toddler or child!
The kitchen is really well equipped and immaculately clean with a gas oven and hob and good sized fridge freezer so we didn't need eat out at all. We could not believe the gorgeous welcome hamper left out for us containing milk and a variety of local goodies, such a thoughtful touch and so gratefully received after a long journey.
Then there is the lounge and dining area, again clean and comfortable felt like we were in a small house not a caravan! The TV was handy for the early mornings and has loads of channels. The decking and balcony area have lovely tables and chairs so you can spend most of the time outside if you like, and is not overlooked by the cottages so you really do have of privacy and your own space.
Now , the grounds are something really really special! Huge ancient woodland with the most amazing wildlife, frogs, birds, fish and newts on the lilly ponds. Hundreds and hundreds of beautiful flowers everywhere its totally breath-taking!
If this isn't enough to explore, the on site and very active miniature railway which (very subtly) goes most of the way around the grounds is sure to impress you ! The guy even gave my son a ride on the trains, which of course made his day.
If you like to keep active like us, then with out having to leave the site you can swim and paddleboard on the lake there which is just awesome, or you can go for a cycle, walk or run up and off to the many surrounding trails and into the mountains!!
You can walk through the back of the site into local village Bethesda where there are a few smaller shops pubs and cafes, or you can visit Bangor (less than 10 mins) for major supermarkets. Although you could quite happily entertain yourself on site or in the surrounding areas, Bryn Llys is perfectly placed for getting to Llanberis, Portmadog, Llandudno , Anglesey and Betws y Coed for an active or cultural day out!
Carlo, Liz and their family made us so, so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They are super knowledgeable about the local area and are so happy to give you info if you need advice or inspiration on where to go. Bryn Llys is a perfect relaxing environment for a quiet retreat, or for an active break. however you choose to stay, self catering cottage, static or own caravan just make sure you stay long enough! You will not be disappointed. Thanks Liz and Carlo, we will be back! xxx... Read more

What a beautiful campsite. Surrounded by nature, its a wonderful place to unwind and relax. As the site has only got 8 pitches at the moment is very peaceful. Cant wait to stay again.
Unfortunately there isn't much going on in the nearby village so we took a bus to Bangor instead to grab a bite to eat.... Read more

We stayed for six days at Bryn Llys in Hafan Cottage, the former mill. It exceeded our expectations.
Bryn Llys has wonderful grounds with a lake and formal pond. There is a footpath leading to the village of Bethesda. It was convenient for Anglesey, the Lleyn Peninsula, Snowdonia and the Zipwire, if you dare!
The cottage slept 4 with two generous bedrooms each with en suite. The kitchen and living room were also large and well-equipped. The cottage had thick stone walls and many original features.
Carlo was an excellent host with a great knowledge of the area. He was keen to please and to make our holiday special.... Read more

We stayed in our motorhome on the caravan site at Bryn Llys early June. The site & surrounding areas are stunning. Lots of lovely walks from site through woodland, along the river, around the lake & upto Zipworld if you're feeling adventurous.
It's within easy driving distance for many places including Anglesey, Bangor, Snowdonia just to mention a few.
There are no facilities but as we are self contained that didn't bother us.
Carlo, the new owner was very friendly & approachable & we wish him all the best for the future, we will definitely be back.... Read more

Bryn Llys is an idyllic relaxing site to stay on. It has EHU on all pitches water and waste is easily accessible
The site its self is beautiful, there are hidden separate gardens that have a wonderful selection of plants and flowers, they have seating areas around the site with designated fire pits, the lake and its walks although short are ideal for a morning stroll with the dogs. Easy access to the village of Bethesda, great situation for visiting and walking in Wales and the Zip World experience
Thanks for a great stay

We stayed 2 nights in Hafan Cottage in May 2021 as a base for a days walk in the Carneddau. The owners, Carlo and Liz were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and my correspondence with Carlo during the booking process was trouble free and efficient. The cottage is a converted Mill done out to a very good standard with all mod cons including a log burner and en-suites for both bedrooms. The cottage was very clean and the owners have a good covid policy of minimal contact in place. The buildings are set in beautiful grounds with a lake and hide and an ornamental pond. Bethesda is a 5 minute drive or a 10 walk through the woods. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hidden gem. Thanks Carlo and Liz and hope to see you again.... Read more

We have stayed at Bryn Llys in our caravan and what a stunning location and a beautifully maintained campsite. It has loads of great features including mature gardens, a lake, which we our caravan pitch was right next too, large pitches we felt we were there by ourselves and not on a site, it even has a miniature railway.
The new owners are really lovely people - so helpful and friendly. They’ve just taken over the site and are making huge improvements.
We have also stayed at one of their beautiful cottages which was spotless comfortable beds lovely and warm and a log burner all ready to go when we got there, with plenty of wood for the weekend, the owners had even put milk in the fridge on our arrival.
Great location for visiting Snowdonia and easy access to all kinds of activities.
It’s very close to Zip World but also lots of mountain walks and biking route. I can not recommend this site enough and we will be returning as much as possible.... Read more

We stayed at Bryn Llys hafan cottage for 2 nights and it was beautiful! Very clean and had everything we needed. Amazing area for walking and close walking distance to the velocity zip wire too. The only thing the area lacked was somewhere to have a meal out, we couldn’t find anywhere but having said that the cottage had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.... Read more

We arrived at Bryn Llys having no problem finding it and only 5 mins of the A55 makes it really easy. We were given a warm welcome by Carlo, who showed us to our accommodation which was spotless and a welcome selection of beverages and some brownies had been left out for us.
Later, Carlo took the time to show me around the grounds which are truly fab. It is clear that a lot of work has been put in to restore what must have been quite splendid in their hay day and I can’t wait to see what Carlo and Liz do over the next few years. The highlight for my wife and daughter was the model railway while for me Carlo’s restored forge was a great attraction. It will be great to be able to visit when both these curios are running.
With easy access to coast and castles, mountains and local tourist attraction like the zip wire and surfing at the Adventure Park this accommodation has much to offer. ????... Read more

We have just returned from a great week at Bryn Llys. The host, Carlo, was very friendly and informative. We received a very warm welcome.
The CL caravan site was in a beautiful setting next to a lake and amongst trees. The facilities were not available due to Covid so cannot comment on them but we would always use our own anyway. There were hand sanitizers and sprays by the water/waste points. The walk ways around the estate , the bird hide, the path to the village, and the lake were wonderful. There were walks off site along a picturesque river which were approximately 2-3 miles round trip which were ideal for us and elderly dog. Just before we left, the ducks on the lake introduced their brand new ducklings to the world! Absolutely adorable! If you like birdwatching this is an ideal place to be. Lovely mountain views and easy access to Anglesey and Snowdonia. We hope to return in the autumn as really enjoyed our stay.... Read more

Lovely site within beautiful surroundings with walks both around the site and directly from the site. Easy access from the A55. We didn’t use the car at all during our three night stay. Short walk into Bethesda for pubs, cafes, small shops when they are allowed to reopen. Carlo was always on hand with a warm welcome and very helpful with information on walks and the local area. We will definitely return.... Read more

What a place! We had a weekend here in April 2021, our base camp for exploring Snowdon. The cottage was beautiful, and had everything we needed. It was lovely and warm with the woodburner too.
In the mornings the sun rises on the deck area where you can have your breakfast and the grounds are stunning, with lots if wildlife and a walk around the lake!
Carlo was brilliant with communication before we arrived and was on hand for anything we needed during our stay.
It's very peaceful and a great place to decompress! Just what we needed.
Thanks Carlo we will back back for sure!... Read more

Highly recommend Bryn Llys. Having spent nearly a week there whilst doing my mountain leader training, I couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. A great location for getting into the hills or to the local amenities. The rooms were spacious and clean, the shower was always hot and a very comfortable bed. The owners were super helpful & knowledgable of the area too. I will definitely be visiting again!... Read more

Clean, spacious and well located only 1 minute from zip world and easy access to main road.
On a plot of land with a small train, lake, stream and lots of places to explore, would be ideal for family's.

This is a very neat and clean CL site which comes with its own mini ‘nature reserve’ and lake. Ideally placed for outdoor pursuits in Snowdonia (round the corner from Zipworld!), it is also ideal for visits to other places
if the weather is less than perfect. We were in our caravan but the holiday cottages looked equally inviting! Thank you to Carlo for a warm welcome and other advice.... Read more
