Very limited selection of classes in the evenings and weekends. Classes are so cramped since lockdown eased and I've had 3 colds after visiting - I'm still not going out much and wearing masks when I do - sad to say it was so much better when the restrictions limited class sizes. Something wrong with the sound system in the studios - instructors (all very nice) can't seem to set the volume below a ridiculously high level - mentioned this and reception confirmed it was a known issue but got blown off by the manager.... Donyngs is kinda nothing special. It's just fitness and stuff.
Gyms: they do a wide range of different machines to get your muscles at work!
Swimming: has a good length (deepness). The only bad thing about the pool is that it's too small. There's half the pool for lanes and the other half for general play or swim whatever you wanna do.
Cafe:the cafe is ok. I've only had mac and cheese other than that I've had crisps so I dont know what to say about the food. You need someone better than me????
Drinks dispensers: downstairs by reception: IF YOU'RE GOING TO THE GYM I BEG YOU DON'T GO THERE. The water there is £2.00 and the water upstairs in the dispensers are £1.20.
That's it, thanks for reading (if you have actually been reading) x... Read more

Great facilities and friendly staff, but if you are looking to make use of the fitness classes, the frequency and variety of these seems to be being quietly reduced, especially weekday evenings. This is a particular issue if you work in London and may struggle to attend anything starting before 7.30pm, so if this trend is not reversed, membership here may not be cost effective.
Most classes are very popular so you may struggle to get in if you aren’t a member.... Read more

I've taken my two sons (9&6yrs) swimming here the last two Sunday afternoons in a row. This week the lifeguard decided that my younger son was a 'non-swimmer' and we were restricted to a very small corner of the pool. Both sons have weekly swim class with pool schools and my younger son is capable of swimming a full width on his front and a full length on his back. Despite this, apparently he is still considered a non-swimmer. It was a humiliating and discouraging experience to be made to stay in one corner of the shallow end and we left shortly after. The previous week was very different, neither of the two lifeguards bothered us and we had a fun and safe swim, building on confidence and skills that are being learnt at swim school. I can only assume from the varying experiences we've had that either the enforcement of this particular 'non-swimmer' rule is discretionary and was poorly applied today or last week my sons life was in danger by being allowed to swim at the deep end for the duration of our hour long visit. The humiliation we were subjected to today was unnecessary and unfortunate, perhaps just down to the lack of experience and poor people skills of the lifeguard. I won't be able to bring my sons here and give them the opportunity to progress their swimming confidence and skills. Fortunately we've not had this trouble at K2 Crawley so well have to get in the car next week!... Read more

I came into the centre last week to look at swimming lessons for my step son and the staff straight away pointed me in the right direction and told me which one would be best dependant on his ability. He started this week and the teacher Sam was brilliant but the class was a little difficult for him so again I needed help from the staff at reception. The young girl on the desk was so helpful and was able to move him straight into an easier class with Sam with no problems. She even suggested a private lesson or two to get his confidence up as he hadn't been swimming since our family holiday last year - will definitely take this up in the next couple of weeks, hopefully with the same teacher. Just wanted to say thanks to the all the staff and the young blonde lady in the green tshirt (think may have been a manager but didn't get her name). Very impressed with my visits to donnings compared with other facilities used including dorking sports centre where the knowledge of swim lessons was poor and staff unfriendly!... Read more

I am regular user of Donyngs gym and I only have positive things to say.
Since joining I have received welcoming treatment from all of the staff members creating a comfortable environment to work out in. The facilities are well kept and cleaned regularly.
The classes at Donyngs are great and were one of the main reasons I joined. All the trainers are focused on the class and help build confidence, particular mention must go to the morning circuit classes run by Fiona the Health and Fitness Manager who is very encouraging and motivational during a class. Fiona also concentrates on key body areas with a variety of exercises with different levels depending on ability, this ensures everyone is comfortable and able to do the exercise.
Since going to the circuit classes with Fiona and Chris my form and technique has improved due to their guidance and genuine interest in your progression. I have also had an introduction from Chris who has provided me with my own personal plan to achieve my goals. This is all included within my memberships and not extra costs.
Highly recommended gym, number one in Redhill area.... Read more

The classes are good especially yoga, pilates and body balance. The only downside is when you fail to cancel the classes booked online 5 hours before the time, they will charge you an extra fee on top of the already expensive membership fee. This doesn't seem to cater to the busy lifestyle of people . It is fair to cancel ahead of time to enable others to book classes but they should have a more reasonable notice period. People do intend to attend but there are last minute deadlines or meetings that sometimes need to be prioritised.
The facilities are not as new though and it would have been better if the shower rooms would at least help you keep your modesty. A separate shower cubicle is pretty standard in most gyms nowadays.... Read more
