We put an offer for a flat some time ago and we paid the deposit. Then they called us to say that we are not getting the deposit back because we had rent in arrears. The rent was paid maybe 3 days after that’s all . For this reason they took our deposit money . By the way I spoke to a lawyer and this is illegal and I will make complaint and open a case .

We moved into our rented house, paid deposit and advanced rent. As soon as we moved in the boiler broke down. We have been over 5 days without heat and hot water. The plumber who they sent advised us that extensive works should have been done to the boiler prior to us moving in .Jasper and Emma at Redhill Connells mannerisms towards us has been one of "We'll get it repaired when we can" The landlord offered compensation not enough to cover even the cheapest of hotels , when we argued this point and mentioned litigation proceedings, Emma came back with a threatening email that we accept the offer before end of day Friday or it's off the table. We are now on Sunday still with no heating or hot water. We have contacted the council Environmental health department about this so they are aware of our situation.
We are a full time working couple. I urge any one reading this to think carefully before using Connells, their nonchalant, threatening tactics are so completely unacceptable ,when they have tenants who have been without hot water and heating for over 6 consecutive days. Please take our ongoing experience and use another firm of estate agents who care about the health of tenants living in properties that they manage. We have a paper trail to confirm all that has been sent in this review.

Wow, what amazing staff - Mark and his staff (Ryan) kept us informed and in the loop every step of the way. I could not have asked for better support from Connells especially Mark Shipp & Ryan Belcher. The whole experience of moving house is by nature stressful but knowing that Mark & Ryan were there to support made it much more bearable.
The viewings were professionally handled and I was lucky to have a very early offer which Ryan successfully negotiated so that I was not too far from the original asking price. Regular communication featured and especially in the final weeks where it was a real rollercoaster of activity but through constant phonecalls to all parties exchange of contracts was completed and Completion happened on my original date of 31st July
Would I say it was a smooth process, no but not down to Mark or Ryan but just the whole process but made easier by this very professional pair who are extremely good with their customers with their personal touch

Jasper at Connells Redhill went above and beyond for us when looking for a place to rent. His communication skills were very commendable as I've personally have had bad experiences with other estate agents never responding to simple enquiries or simply being dismissive in many cases. He was polite, informative and very candid both over the phone and over email which made the whole process easier.
As we were applying for a property to move to from across the country, he also took the time to go and get a video of the property for us so that we could have a more informed decision going forward.
I would really recommend Connells to anyone in the rental space. If I happen to be looking for another place, this would be my first stop.

Can't say my experience here was good on multiple occasions. I experienced multiple fall throughs of a sale which I'm sure was a part persuasion for a greater gain of sale bonus on a more expensive property ! I've used many more estate agents in Redhill in the past and had a really smooth sale with a business a few doors down. The staff in that business were older and had more experience in my opinion , a nicer experience all round , No messing about and ended up using their choice of solicitors etc.

Property selling and buying is recognised as a major stress factor in modern life and being fortunate enough to become involved with an estate agent of the calibre of Connells can only be a plus.
I have bought and sold several properties in my life with greater or lesser hassle, largely dependent on the presiding estate agent. This latest excursion into the property market took place when I had sworn that I was never going to move again except to that residential care home in the sky.
Upon being forced onto the property market yet again, I set out on the first and most important task: find a good estate agent. Connells being recommended, I gave them my business and was pleasantly surprised at the enthusiasm and general pizazz of the highly competent young men who brought many viewers to my flat, their confidence that a sale was imminent and their delight when it did happen.
The after sales service has been superb. Frequent phone calls to commiserate with me on the long drawn out conveyancing journey and happy congratulations when exchange finally took place.
I now have only completion to undergo and that's it and I shall never move again......

I have asked Stephanie, at the Redhill Branch, three times to return a set of keys to me and every time they were supposed to be put through the letterbox. They were not. She denied mislaying them but she has obviously lost them. This has been going on for ten weeks. The security issue is appalling. I have tried to complain to the Redhill office and was directed to the Haywards Heath Lettings Manager who goes in once a month. I am now awaiting a call. I will not be using Connells again and certainly would not recommend them.

She blamed us for her in-competencies, delays and then just blatantly ignored our emails after she promised feedback. would just like to express my disgust with your service.
Me and my husband put an offer in for Prince Albert square on Saturday.
When we put in the offer we were told we needed to see “a mortgage manager” to confirm our buying position/ id check. We provisionally booked this in, however weren’t happy as no other estate agent uses this process and used the words “so we can recommend your offer to the seller”. This promotes an auction like sale when it isn’t supposed to be.
Secondly, we were told our viewing on Saturday would be a 1:1 and instead 4 other families showed up at that time and it was an open house. You were trying to encourage panic buying and it wasn’t stated before hand that it would be a group.
Thirdly, whoever valuated the property needs to be retrained as you’ve valued it at £300-320k, when similar properties on that road sold fully furnished for £321k!!
Lastly, I received a very rude voicemail today saying that we failed to attend our “ confirmation of buying position “ meeting. And that a staff member had stayed 30 mins after hours to accommodate the appointment, and that the seller has in fact declined our offer and refuses to negotiate further until we comply with Connels appointment- that sounds like a very threatning tone.
We were advised to steer clear from Connels from several home owners but decided we would use our own judgement. How right they were! Your communication skills, customer service and professionalism is non existent and we shall not be using Connels for any house purchases in the future and will ensure our opinions are well known to the wider community. It is true how you have been described. You are nothing but “ a band of crooks / rogue gangsters”

Whenever I rang the office, it didn't matter who I spoke to, all the team were able to help me and most impressive of all, knew who I was! This doesn't happen with all estate agents! We were always kept in the picture as to what was happening with our sale so felt very reassured and confident that we were in good hands. Mark Shipp and I had a very intense relationship. How much more I should say, I don't know....someone might find this and read it. All I will say is that Mark advised me so well, and then sold my house so very quickly, I have been left wishing it had all taken a lot longer...
Even when Mark wasn't available, all his colleagues at Connells in Redhill were immediately on the ball, and anxious to do their very best to make the burden of selling a house easier. Suffice to say I feel very satisfied with their service. I don't think a better Estate Agents exists.

Having just completed on a sale with Connells Redhill Branch, I can honestly say I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.
1) We were lied to regarding our purchasers financial position in order to accept an offer, causing additional stress and concern.
2) Staff used my toilet with the door open in front of my wife.
3) Accused my wife of lying about the above.
4) Manager incredibly rude and inflammatory in all correspondence.
I understand many members of staff have left recently and started their own agencies in the area. I can understand why, and I wish I had done more research before selecting them at the time.
In short, please do yourselves a favour, and avoid the Redhill Connells branch .
Premium fees, for a significantly less than acceptable level of service.

Cannot thank Mark and Joe and the team at Connells Redhill enough. They made the process and transition so smooth and were always on hand to provide advise, help and also answer any questions that we had.
If there's one thing that we weren't really happy with, it was the solicitors. But this is no reflection on Connells. The property we bought is perfect and the whole process from start to finish was painless.
At no point did I feel that I had to chase them for an update or feel that I was just another number. The purchase was handled with a lot of professionalism.

We just purchased our first property through Connells (Redhill branch) and I can't rate them enough! Olivia originally showed us round the flat and she was very informative and lovely, and then after we put in the offer on the property we were looked after by Mark who was fabulous! He was so helpful, especially since we are first time buyers and we didn't really know what we were doing, so he was always great at explaining everything to us and answering our ridiculous questions! He was also very speedy at sorting things out and getting back to us with any queries/issues. And just genuinely a really friendly and funny person so we always felt at ease, and had a few giggles too! :) We used a Connells mortgage adviser (Jack Savory) and their recommended solicitors (TCS) too which made things easier as they could all sort things out and communicate quickly between eachother. I fully recommend them all!
