Just wanted to give 5 stars for the waitress who served us, forgot to get her name but she had 2 plaits on her hair. Amazing hospitality and such a lovely person. Order and eat in from this dessert place often but recently they have gone down hill. We ordered 7 items including two drinks. The drinks tasted good and they were generous with the portion of ice cream. However The kitchen got almost every order on our table wrong and I do feel for the poor waiter who had to take the brunt of customer dissatisfaction from all the tables when there were mistakes in the orders. We also ordered salted caramel sauce on the side but we basically received warm maple syrup. Also found it frustrating that they don’t do tap water. I understand they not obliged to but it really isn’t that difficult to provide.... Read more

Horrible experience.???? Went on my daughter's birthday, they served tea and forgot about dessert order and start asking "do u wanna pay now " ???? ,when we reminded them,they served only one desert instead 4 . birthday girl started crying , where is her surprise dessert we ordered that first,it was mess up plan. We had to take away our ordered home and top of that cookie desert wasn't cook properly and it's like I'm eating flour and chocolate that also gone into bin . Very disappointed specially my daughter.she was so excited that day to try new dessert place usually she likes to go creams or cookies and cream ,wish could stick with that would not end up like that.... I love this dessert place hidden on the side streets of Whitechapel as they have a mouth watering selection of desserts, and has a cosy interior with its booths and vibrantly decorated walls. I've been many times but in my latest visit, I had their cookie dough and milk cake which were both so delicious and well presented. I will definitely be returning again for more desserts!... If I could give this 0 stars I would. The customer service is poor. The staff members were not attentive, very slow service for a restaurant that wasn't busy whilst I was there. Most of the unique items you don't normally see in dessert parlour menus we're unavailable to order. The cookie dough was not baked and the french toast was not fried. I tried to give this feedback to the manager after I had paid in full & he proceed to argue with me which made the whole experience worse. I do not recommend this place maybe the other branches but dessert bar is a waste of time and money.... Read more

The waffles we ordered were delicious, however beware: - they won’t serve you tap water - the toilets were out of order and judging by the other reviews this has conveniently been the case for many months now. This was confusing as I saw a member of staff come out of a toilet but then stopped me from going in. Why won’t they let their customers exercise a basic human need?... Read more

Tucked away down an ominous looking side street, The Urban Chocolatier is a delightful dessert haven. C19 precautions are in place but unfortunately their toilet facilities were not available when I visited (21/10/20) however they directed me to the petrol station next door who let me use their loo for free. The (halal) digital menu is extensive with a huge variety of mocktails, hot drinks, cakes, crepes, waffles, sundaes and the suchlike to choose from. Prices are very reasonable, portions are huge, tasty and well presented. Customer service is excellent and there's a family friendly vibe.
