I was looking for a property to rent. Lydia Beesley was the agent that I dealt with. I found her to be very professional, extremely helpful, efficient, and honest. She took time to listen to my concerns and needs, and she went the extra mile to find me a place. Lydia Beesley is an asset to Foxtons. I have no hesitation in recommending Lydia to any prospective clients.
Foxtons has professional surface and nice friendly agents, but predatory and expensive. Despite paying GBP440 for in commissions which is already at top of the market, they did their best to try to get more money out of me when I used the agreed break clause. I would not use then again. In general I can tell you that you guys are getting screwed in your so called 'free market'. Transaction cost are rampant and clearly favors the more informed agents/landlord. Not the signs of a well functioning market.
Knight Frank, in particular Andrew Groocok and Kiran Sandhu, helped us to buy our home in Canary Wharf a first time in 2006 then to sell it in 2012 and finally to buy it again a second time three weeks ago! Through all the process, they have been very professional, responsive, helpful and reliable. Thank you to the team, I can only recommend them.
They provided the tenancy agreement 3 days before the move-in date, despite we had chased them for a month (There seemed not to be anyone knowing our case with full knowledge.) Regarding the clauses we were not happy with, they simply just passed the messages back and forth between us and the landlord. All our requests were refused but we had to accept it because we couldn't find another flat in 3 days.
The administration was also a nightmare. They never revealed fees all at once (despite we chased several times) so we always found surprises. Very unresponsive, one simple question took them few days or longer to get back, with scattered answers. The worst was, they made mistakes on numbers, and failed to send through emails because they made typo on the address or had internet drop, etc.
A great local estate agents who provide fair and professional advice and a great service. They also go above and beyond to support local community projects and regularly provide sponsorship for our annual street party. Always happy and very grateful to have them on board each year.
Ridiculous they ask for a 1-day charge of rent just out of a wording game! We confirmed the end of lease date the same as the date we pay the rent each month. But no one ever told us before confirmation that the day is actually counted but not the night before. Why on earth would we pay for the one additional day given that we actually move out two days earlier to that? It was out of goodwill that we end the lease by the end of month sharp... then on contrary heard from them such an unfair and unnecessary treatment.
It is really a frustrating and disappointing process negotiating back and forth. Such an unnecessary waste of time.
Complete Prime Residential and my property manager (Joana Ferreira) have been very responsive when I had any issues with the flat. She had a calm, competent approach to matters such as lease renewal and could always be reached at short notice. I hope my next let is managed as professionally..
Renters look elsewhere! Complete seem to operate an anti customer service policy for anyone renting property through them. Don't be fooled by the glossy interior designed to get you to sign the tenancy agreement. When you move in you'll realise the build quality will be sub standard and Complete will not actively help you when things inevitably break or stop working. Their policy seeks to benefit only the developers and their landlords whom they have sold the property to and guaranteed high yields their investments. If you're a landlord these guys are no doubt a great option because they will never contact you or hold you accountable for any work or issue with the property. If you are thinking of renting a property with Complete I cannot stress how important it is that you look elsewhere. Unless you enjoy being treated like scum that is. Complete Prime are bad news and I hope that this review will help you with your decision to choose the right rental property with a different agency.
Tom Goddard offered an amazing service - really supporting our search from the very beginning with pleasant and professional service. As we had just moved to London, Tom was kind enough to really explain us the area and its characteristics (well beyond the social demographics).
We really felt that Tom had our best interest in mind - working to find the perfect place just for us.
I would give KFH and Tom Goddard my best recommendation and should we need any estate services in the future, this is the office, we will prefer.
Tom conducted a professional and efficient viewing at property which satisfied my search criteria including style, location and amenities. Tom had a good understanding of the history and details of the property and was able to explain me the landlord needs as well. In the future I would not hesitate in contacting Tom as he clearly understood what i was looking for.
Super helpful, great communication and solid advice. Have been dealing with Hassan for a few months now and can honestly say that the whole process has been so much easier than I had feared from my experiences with other agents. Always quick and clear on communications, always diligent with follow up and keeping us in the loop and always flexible and easy to deal with whenever I've had questions.
LudlowThompson Docklands locked us in a 2 year contract with no break clause when we asked for one year or a break clause arguing the landlord would only accept this. Now we found out they lied to both us and the landlord as we all wanted 1 year. And why did they do this? Well now that we want to change one out the two tenants in the flat they want to charge a fee of £570 for the referencing check. They've done absolutely no work to replace the tenant, we found the replacement and their referencing takes about 2 minutes. Furthermore, we want to leave this flat not because we need to move, but because of the appalling service. The fee would still be fine if they hadn't lied however, they have. Now this would also be fine if they had provided a service of adequate standards, but this was not the case.
Wardrobes and doors without handles have been in this state this since the beginning of the tenancy, even though we have requested on multiple occasions for them to be fixed. We were in fact told, they would be fixed the first week of the tenancy. A year in nothing.
We were assured the flat would be professionally cleaned before our entry into the flat. They had over a month to prepare it. This was again not the case. With greasy surfaces all over.
We spent more than two months without heating or with it rarely working, when Environmental regulations stipulate this is an urgent repair.
The faucet was leaking since the second month we entered the flat until just a month ago (I will repeat we have been in this flat for a year).
We had a mouldy wall, which made us sick for about 4 months where we repeatedly were told this was being dealt with. Again in contravention with Health and Environmental regulations.
After all these issues, they always claimed Landlord was not giving them permission to fix them. Landlord claimed she didn't even know about many of these issues and only once we contacted her were they fixed. Thus, showing the incompetence of Ludlow Thompson, who not only provide, or better not provide, a service of appalling quality, but also lie to both landlords and tenants to play them against each other.
Our landlord has now vowed she will never use their services again and so have we. To top this off we found out that even though we paid 6 months rent in advance, the landlord did not receive this quantity when we first moved in. Their modus operandi seems to be to through lies play landlords and tenants against each other to charge as many fees as they can. However, this will not be happening again with us or our landlord.
