I spent a day viewing numerous properties with Peter Smith at Canary Wharf. Peter offered excellent service, was very helpful throughout the process and showed a deep understanding of the area as he has lived there for years. He showed us around and gave us a tour of the area. Would definitely recommend Chestertons and Peter to anyone looking to rent in the Canary Wharf area.
Chestertons were a professional and efficient company to work with. In particular, Rod was excellent, he found us a great property and was always quick to respond to phone calls/emails and helped to move things along smoothly. Would use again in the future.
After a very disappointing experience with a local letting agent ( ridiculously low ball offers and continually bringing in people to our home who were never going to be able to afford it), we decided to spend the extra fee and try Foxtons out. Within 1 week we had an offer on our flat at a level close to ask. We exchanged 6 weeks later, and completed within 2 weeks. We interacted with 3 people continually at fixations, the negotiator, the senior negotiator, and the area manager. They all kept each other very well informed and so if one was out you could always pick up with one of the other two. Importantly, I got the sense that they were trying to represent all three sides ( buyer, seller and themselves)- as opposed to in it for a quick fee. Would recommend without reserve
The worst experience I have ever had in dealing with estate agents. Both of these guys were the utter epitome of slimy estate agents who do not care about you and quite literally just want to take your money. From booking the first viewing - I called on a Saturday and spoke to David Morgan who agreed to do a viewing on Monday (there was no mention of having to ask the current tenants to confirm from him, he just just out-rightly said it was booked) - I did not recieve a confirmation email all the way up until the Monday 10am - (the viewing was booked for 11am) - so ended up calling the the branch again who had NO record of me even calling to book! Eventually one of the staff members traced the call back to David’s number (this staff member also said this is quite usual of David’s behaviour). I eventually saw the property and my sister too and we both agreed to make an offer. Suddenly, David messaged me to say the flat is only available THREE WEEKS after we already agreed to move/the date he told us and blamed it on the current tenants. I said we would have to think about it but he ended up being very pushy with his words in forcing me to extend my current tenancy as “It would be a great price to get this one in The Sphere so hopefully you can accommodate those couple of weeks?” (I have the text messages). I didn’t hear back from my current agent immediately with regards to extending and David was even saying he would get in touch with them himself! So unpleasantly forceful! As if it ends there. Me and my sister decided to make an offer and David asked us to come back to the office where his colleague would be to put down the offer etc as he stated he couldn’t(?). Waiting at the office suddenly his colleague “was out at a viewing” and “couldn’t get in touch with him”. So we decided to leave and agreed I would get a phone call in the morning the next day to confirm the offer.
The next morning I revive a text message form David to say he was “suddenly off sick...and at the GP” and that someone else had put an offer in so we would have to make our “best offer”. I cannot believe this...It was promised that this colleague “Ketan” would be calling me at 9am - obviously I didn’t get a call and had to call the branch around 11/12? Maybe even later to be called back. When Ketan eventually called me back he asked me how I could be helped? Surely he knew that we were trying to make an offer since yesterday and that he was supposed to call me at 9am!? No apology at all and in actual fact he was rude and obnoxious and pushed me to increase my offer and length of contact without a break clause saying the landlord would “take the best offer”. Before the phone call ended I asked when he would get back to me on whether the landlord would accept or not, he said by the end the of the day - this was Friday 6th July, it’s now Thursday 26th.... and nothing. I did not call to enquire because quite frankly we had had enough, luckily we have found a beautiful place to live now but stuck with an extra two weeks rent to pay at my current place due to the awful cut-throat behaviour of these two staff members of Foxtons - mainly David Morgan. Our whole experience with this agency has been absolutely disgusting and I will genuinely shout to the hills and back to everyone NOT to use them.
The team at Keaton's were extremely helpful when I recently purchased an investment property. They were happy to chase solicitors and sellers whenever it was needed. I would use them again.
Landlords, go next door!
Keatons have been nothing but useless with us from start to finish. The service they provided us was so appalling that we had to go with another agency at the end. Their competitors next door provided us with such an efficient service (at a way cheaper rate) that we really regretted having gone with them in the first place!!
Their agents are clueless. Their management team as they call it consists of one girl behind a computer who does everything wrong. We constantly had to get back to them and correct their mistakes. They even managed to lose our keys. Pure negligence.
They are only here to cash in, they don't care about anything else and they should be ashamed to charge what they charge given the service they provide.
Our experience with Knight Frank has been so far just great. My friends and I have been extremely well assisted by Christopher Paxton for everything related to the house search and viewings. Christopher has been very professional and thorough in explaining us all the letting procedures and in advising us on the better solution according to our needs. I would absolutely recommend Knight Frank and its team.
They provided the tenancy agreement 3 days before the move-in date, despite we had chased them for a month (There seemed not to be anyone knowing our case with full knowledge.) Regarding the clauses we were not happy with, they simply just passed the messages back and forth between us and the landlord. All our requests were refused but we had to accept it because we couldn't find another flat in 3 days.
The administration was also a nightmare. They never revealed fees all at once (despite we chased several times) so we always found surprises. Very unresponsive, one simple question took them few days or longer to get back, with scattered answers. The worst was, they made mistakes on numbers, and failed to send through emails because they made typo on the address or had internet drop, etc.
I have been letting a flat for the past year and a half with Alex Neil and just wanted to leave a review. They have been very helpful, always responding to emails and calls efficiently and liaising in a timely manner with contractors to help us get the best out of our flat. As a flat we have really been able to depend on Lucia especially to help us out. I would recommend Alex Neil as a letting agency and look forward to using their assistance again if needed when searching for future properties.
Awful experience trying to sell our flat through this company. They know what to say in order to get your business but when it comes to organising viewings they are terrible. Avoid.
I have been working recently with Adam Wolfryd and his team at the Canary Wharf office. I am a frequent buyer/seller of property and I have to say that this particular office really does stand out from their competition. These guys are straight talking, honest professionals who are genuinely interested in helping you find your perfect home. A CREDIT TO THEIR INDUSTRY.
They keep on rolling contracts wrong for existing tenants and landlords. Tenants are leaving them and I personally know 2 landlords that have left them. AVOID THIS AGENCY AS SENIOR DIVISIONAL ADMINISTRATOR is making a lot of mistakes. My friend (landlord) actually lost a tenant.
Your emails will be ignored and costly mistakes will be made.
