I paid them 400 pounds without thinking and l lost that money last year coz l had a problem in the flat which l was living and the problem was sorted so l went back to my old flat.l never even went to ask them for the money so be 100 percent sure that you're going to stay there before you pay the any money.l knew of Westgate estates because in 2010 my mate barry was homeless and they helped him and got hm a flat in armley a very nice flat and he was on housing benefit so he gave me their telephone number but l got a flat with another agent but last year when l had a problem where l was living l went to them and they showed me a room and they told me to pay them 400 pounds for the room but the room they gave me was nowhere aas nice as the house l had been living in so l sorted out the problem with the landlord and l went back to my old flat but l lost the 400 pounds l paid to Westgate estates Leeds it really hurts me that l lost that money but l can't do anything... Extremely unprofessional! Wish I had of read the previous reviews before signing a new tenancy agreement as this would have been a valid reason to not proceed with this company. I only became a tenant of a property they manage due to vulnerable circumstances. As per other customer experiences noted on here, I was alo refused my deposit. When i challenged their decision I was informed that I had never actually paid them a deposit, even though one of there requirements is to pay a deposit??? To then further review these reviews it is a coincidence that the 1st 3 comments which are rated as 5* (lol).... are actually the cousin/brother owners. DPMO. What i would like to know is how are these people allowed to continue their business. Wouldn't even give 1 star but unfortunately I don't have that option, these people are crooks and liars who use people to get rich. After years of being a tenant I moved out to be told I wasn't getting my deposit back. If you rent from these charlatans please ensure your tenancy deposit has been protected as they failed to protect mine. Customer service is non existent and the agents are rude and obnoxious. If you are looking for a trust worthy reliable agency steer clear of Westgate. 5 star reviews are from the owners and those who have obviously never actually rented from them.... Read more
