Wilkins has not passed 2 months rent onto me and has kept my tenants deposit. Sussex Police are now building a file on the company and the more of us that contact them, the better the chances of us getting some money back. Please call 101 and tell them Wilkins Residential. Please also complain to the Deposit Protection Service and the Ombudsman. This man should not get away with what he has done. This is illegal and he has deceived us all.... Read more

Someone needs to take some action. I'm taking legal advice so maybe an idea to link up with others. However, I wonder if the landlord of the shop might sue anyway in which case there's a good chance he'll go bankrupt before the rest of us get a look in?! Worth investigating anyway. Trying to get my deposit back, spoke to Rob a few months ago who claimed he was on it but heard nothing so phoned in, Rob wasn't there but the lady on the phone was strongly indicating they would sort it soon and call me for my bank details only they never did, they never answered the phone after that. I went there this morning, the office is closed there is mail on the mat and literally cobwebs on the door. It appears that after 20 years in the business something other than physical well being changed for Mr Wilkins and we're all out of pocket at the moment, tenants, handymen, landlords. Does anyone affected by this wish to just forget what they're owed or are willing to take steps to retrieve their monies from Mr Wilkins? Please post and advise what we can do legally, i'm not interested in doing it any other way but I'm definitely keen to get it sorted asap... Read more

Visited the Hove office on Saturday 6th May. All locked and unoccupied. Only four letters on the mat so the post is being collected. Added one from me giving 10 days notice of contract cancellation. No reply. Shameful. Thought the man was better than this.... Read more

We also have had Wilkins Residential as our letting agent since 2001. Everything was fine all that time. But then we did not received rent for February and March and they did not respond to our many emails and phone calls. Since then we asked the tenant to pay directly into our account. We are now in the process of changing letting agents. I can't believe they would just keep the money!... Read more

We have received instructions from a client of this Company and believe that rents paid to them by the tenant have not been passed on. It is possible they have gone into liquidation or there may have been some illegal activity. I have therefore reported this to the police and suggest other disappointed parties do the same to add to their file. We let our property through Wilkins - we have not been able to get hold of them for past 2 weeks. Tenants have paid their rent for past 2 months but Wilkins have not yet paid us. If anyone has any news please post. Update 16.5.17: Brian responded and left us a voice message about 2 weeks ago. He said he'd been ill and apologised for late rent and transferred back rent he owed us. Grateful he did this. However still can't get hold of him. No one in office at beginning of month to take rental payments from tenants. Have emailed him as clearly have to move agents and no response from him re.contracts or our tenants deposit. DPS (logo on his website) don't have record of him or our tenants deposit. Have advised tenants to go to Citizens Advice re.deposit issue.... Read more

My tenants have been paying the rent for my property but Wilkins have not paid the rent on to me. Wilkins now owes me in excess of £2000. They are refusing to respond to my emails and I can get no reply from their telephone number.... Read more

Spoken with another Residential Agent in Brighton and the unconfirmed rumour is that Brian Wilkins has been in hospital. However there is still no reply to my recent (14 days) phone calls or email, which is unusual. He is normally same day prompt.... Read more

I'm a former tenant of a property they managed. Have been trying to get my deposit back, but no answer to any phone calls/emails. Have gone by the office, but it has been closed constantly. Went to the deposit scheme that apparently our money was being kept in (according to our contract), but the deposit scheme told us they had never received any money. Will be going ahead with legal action if we do not hear anything within a weeks time.... Read more

Extremely slow to respond; it's very easy to send them multiple emails or calls without any action or response. I've had two instances of repairs that will be damaging my landlord's property and need urgent fixes (water damage and leaks), but they've either not responded or responded only after a lot of time has passed. Almost guaranteed to find that a call to their office will be answered by an answerphone – try it for yourself!... Read more
