McCartneys Estate Agents have 13 branches and they mainly list properties in WV16, SY7, HR5, SY8, SY16, LD8, WR15 and LD3. Over the last 6 months, they've listed 303 properties, with an average time to sale of 20 weeks.
Feel really let down by McCartneys, they did not let me know on numerous occasions updates about a rented property I was interested in. I was forever chasing them for information and was not impressed by their service. Its a shame as they seem nice people, but it's put me off using them.
Was also pested several times by a renting agency, as apparently I had moved into the flat I was interested and they were congratulating me and then trying to sell me sky products. I asked McCartneys to tell them we were not in the property, they didn't.
Overall not impressed.

Recently emailed this agent about a property and never heard back , had to call them and was told that the vendor did not know what they were doing with the property although it was advertised as auction . They said once they found out from the vendor they would call me , guess what! they never did and I spotted the same property for sale however not auction this time but increased in price to £595000 from £525000 offer over etc ... As I heard nothing again I told them I would go direct finding the owners details of the property on the planning application on line .... again heard nothing back and property has been withdrawn from the market so begs to differ what they are up to .... emailed numerous times no reply , had to phone and was told they would keep me informed but did not .... would stay well away and use a proper estate agent that actually gets in contact with customers . If they were marketing my property I certainly would not be using them again .... Property in Question was Spond House in Spond , Kington , Herefordshire .... & if you are the owner of this property I would use a different estate agent ....
Very poor communication from the first day of enquiry, was asked “can I give you a call back in a minute?” A day later still no call back. Had to constantly call over a few days. Completely unprofessional. Advertising properties as “available now” despite them not having EPC/safety certificates (She told me they had to wait at least 2.5 weeks to get someone in to do the checks, possibly even longer).. that is NOT “available now”, also keep in mind that the property has been advertised as “available now” for months despite apparently not having these certificates. Whilst we were viewing the outside of a property (it was essential as we absolutely have to move, and in 14 years of renting I have always viewed the outside of a property before proceeding with requesting internal viewings), someone in the same cottage allowed us to view the inside of the property, upon finding out that we had viewed the property, McCartneys basically black listed us from the entire estate agents and refused to let us view ANY of their properties, They made us feel like criminals when we’d done nothing wrong, we followed social distancing, and we were punished for it. We were told to find a different estate agents, the only other estate agent that covered that area do not allow any pets for all of their properties, we told McCartneys that we couldn’t use them as we have a dog, and they didn’t care at all, they still refused to let us view any of their properties, leaving us with absolutely no options or way of finding a new home for ourselves and our young children. It’s absolutely disgraceful behaviour, never will I ever recommend McCartneys, if anything I will advise people to not use them for anything at all, awful people, awful company. Sellers/Landlords/landladies/tenants/buyers BEWARE.

After following the advice of one of the agents that it was ok to view the property we were then made to feel like criminals after we went and did exactly that. There seems to be a disjoint in the company with differing advise depending on who answers the phone. All this was after constant chasing up after being told they'd "call us back" "send us the paperwork" ect all of which none came to avail. So in the end I was pretty much told that they are not interested in letting ANY of the properties they have on the various websites, considering theres perhaps only one other estate agents covering the area we have pretty much blacklisted from the area. Never have I experienced anything like this in my 10+ years in the rental market place. Landlords/landladies and prospective renters/buyers beware and prepare for a runaround and to be spoken down to in a disgusting manner,
If you are looking for an estate agent which lies to you - then choose this agent.
If you are looking for an estate agent which works for the buyer, rather than you - their client - then this is the agency for you.
This agent was complicit in giving away my bed and breakfast business with the sale of my property without getting me any payment for the goodwill of this business, despite numerous written documentation which stated that I required payment for my business if it was to be continued.
They breached their contract with me over the agreed move date. They specified a completion month to get me to agree to an offer, with full knowledge that the buyer had no intention to meet this date, probably costing me £000 of pounds in my transactions.
They did not liaise with the solicitors and keep me informed throughout the process and blamed my solicitor for the agreed move date not being met - blatantly lying to me.
They epitomise everything which is wrong with their profession.
Excellent service from Jamie & Co. Highly recommended. Best agent in Welshpool by far.
The senior partner of this company knew that I was making a very long journey to view this property (245 mile round trip) and, unfortunately, he sent a young man who knew virtually nothing about the property, could not answer many of my questions, did not have a key for a door marked "chemicals, keep out" and did not know what was behind it and told me that a cylinder in the house was the boiler when it plainly wasn't. The journey was a complete waste of my time and money and I did not feel confident in the agents enough to proceed with the purchase of a property that I was keen to buy. I felt thoroughly undervalued as a customer. I will avoid using the Welshpool office in future.
