GOOGLE STATES 50 VIEWS SO FAR ????
Hi everyone, (they're not 5 stars) I am currently in a legal dispute with Abbey Sales / Scott Maddison.
They state I owe them a commission fee (which I don't recognise); a different Estate Agent (Michael’s Estate Agents) sold the property and received the actual commission fee, paid to them by my solicitor.
Abbey Sales & Lettings (Scott Maddison) may legally have a claim however, this is yet to be determined; and may well involve court action.
I have included photos of the letters from their debt recovery partners etc. that were sent to me, and me to them. I will continue to update and post on this review all correspondence I receive from Abbey Sales & Lettings/Scott Maddison.
The posted email from Abbeys debt recovery partners was the first communication of any sort regarding their claim, approximately four months down the line from the actual sale (not sold by Scott Maddison, but by another Estate Agent).
Updated 29/07/2024 - I have just requested the original VAT receipt in respect of their £1980 claim, NO invoice has been sent to me in regards Abbey/Scott Maddison’s claim to date, only the email from Abbeys debt recovery partners.
An invoice should have preceded a debt collection request.
Scott Maddison did know of the sale, they were the letting agents right up to the point of sale .. by another Estate Agent (Michael's Estate Agents).
I had a private meeting with the manager of Scott Maddison one month prior to moving my property to another estate agents, giving Scott Maddison one further month to increase viewing figures, which they failed to do.
The Manager at no time stated I would be liable for any charges whatsoever if I moved estate agents.
I have not received an invoice to date (15/05/2024) just the debt recovery letter.... Read more
