This was my first time with JW renting a property and I honestly can say it wasn't a great experience.
If I could give no stars I would.
After viewing the property i sent a letter to the landlord for me to be considered which I was advised to do only to find out down the line this never actually got sent to the landlord. They also said the landlord would prefer me to do the no deposit scheme which I wasn't keen on but did to secure the house. This is a con and a money making scheme for JW. The landlord never said they preferred this I found out at a later date.
They forced me to end my tennancy when applying for my new house with JW because my old landlord was selling the properrtu i was in and there was months left on my tennancy even though they had an email from my old agent saying I was released from the contract and they spoke to them on the phone.
I gave my notice so I could secure my new property with JW and had a date to move in so I was packed and booked removals only to get a call 48 hours before saying I couldn't move in due to the state the tenants had left it, and it was going to be pushed back another week.
This left me with no where to go and I had to pay hundreds for an airbnb and to move dates with the removal firm. I expressed this to JW as it was there issue and they wouldn't contribute towards these costs which I found appalling how they can do that to people.
Once I finally got the keys apparently the house had been deep cleaned. It was far from it and I had to clean the bathroom and kitchen especially before I could even unpack. Grease every where in the kitchen, it smelt, the toilet seat had to be changed immediately it was just awful.
There was a massive leak stain on the kitchen ceiling, bearing in mind this house was supposedly checked and signed off. The kitchen window didn't shut or lock, the doors didn't close and when I had a shower water started pouring through the kitchen ceiling I honestly was so upset, deflated and realised I'd made a huge mistake going with JW.
The landlord came round to fix things and thank goodness we had a conversation and realised it wasn't just me that had issues with them. All the jobs got done and the landlord was great and I communicated with them for the remainder of the year, if it was left to JW nothing would have got done.
It said in the contract a house inspection would be done which was cool I rented for 14 years with another agent so that was standard. 4 months came and went I emailed to ask about an inspection and nothing back. This is why tenants are allowed to trash people's homes as JW do not check or have any input once they have your money. The staff are rude and unhelpful. What they get paid for im not actually sure as they did nothing. Staff changes constantly and your not kept in the loop who your point of contact is.
My daughter is over 18 so on the tennacy but has complex additional needs and JW were told specifically not to use her email and number and that happened more than once rather than myself receiving the email.
I still rent my property but now directly with the landlord and what a relief I no longer have to deal with these cowboys. Don't let them fool you in to thinking there a good company, I've warned everyone I know never to rent with this company. They caused me nothing but misery for months, I'm a single mother with an adult child I care for and all the issues caused her so much distress.
Like i said once they have your money their not interested.
* in responce to JW, I wouldn't trust you to investigate this at all it would ne a wate of my time even writing the email... Read more
