Abode went above and beyond for us on a recent building survey. They represent great value for money. We were thoroughly impressed by the depth of the survey, which was tailored to our specific circumstances and the nature of the house we are purchasing. Alan has been incredibly generous with his time, talking us through the report and taking follow up calls to discuss specific issues where we needed to go into more depth (even whilst dealing with a power cut himself!). Jo really grasped exactly what we needed when we first asked for a quote, and has ensured everything has been well organised and delivered to time. I cannot commend Alan highly enough! He previously saved me from two potential money pits and in my latest purchase, his survey (of a relatively modern house) has paid for itself twice over. Alan is very knowledgeable and also very approachable. He goes above and beyond, giving excellent and thoughtful advice. Used Alan (again) as an expert assessor this time for an apartment intended for my parents to retire to. The on-site activity was undertaken within a week, and the subsequent report provided within two weeks of that. This document is comprehensive but an easy read and clearly explains what action needs to be taken and by whom. The end to end process could not have been better. Abode Chartered Surveyors is a small excellent business. Jo is just efficient from start to finish, she answers emails promptly and can't do enough to accommodate your survey as quickly as possible. Alan is brilliant. He has done two structural surveys for us and if there's a problem with the house you are purchasing, he will find it. He's meticulous in his observations and provides a debrief immediately after his inspection which is invaluable. He doesn't let you wait wondering if there's is a problem. If he finds a structural problem (which he did for the first house we wanted to purchase), he advides you impartially, lends you his experience and expertise to achieve the best possible outcome whether is getting the right repairs or just walk away from a money pit property. Above Chartered Surveyors are honest and professional. These are two qualities that should always be rewarded in my opinion. This is hopefully our last move but I will definitely use them again if needed. Highly recommended.... Read more

I cannot recommend Abode Chartered Surveyors enough. Jo was fantastic with dealing with our enquiries promptly and efficiently and getting us booked in quickly. When Alan undertook the survey he was incredibly thorough providing us with a very detailed verbal debrief on site immediately after the survey along with a very comprehensive report in a timely manner. When we had further questions Alan went through them thoroughly with us over the phone making sure we fully understood the report and any issues that were identified on the survey.
