Incredible, I paid the rent on time every single month for 2.5 years and when i move out of the house they charge me £24 pounds for providing a reference. Additionally they also ripped me off when i "renewed" the contract. They said the landlord wanted to renew the contract and i was happy to do that. So I agreed to go ahead, paid the fee of the agency (£125) to let them go ahead and process the contract. After 1 month i still didn't receive the contract back from the landlard and instead i receive an email from the letting agent saying that the landlord does not want the contract but wants to stay on a Statutory base agreement. Fair enough, i would agreed to do that first time around, so where is my money gone? why did you make me paying the fee when actually the landlord did not want any contract? And they tried the same trick the following year...stay away from them as much as you can!... Read more

As a postgraduate student in Southampton, the Agencies I have dealt with prior to Austin & Wyatt have been unprofessional and disrespectful. Austin and Wyatt was always professional, friendly, quick to respond to any queries and easy to contact. In combination with our landlord, any issues with the house were fixed rapidly. The check-out report was done thoroughly and fairly by an independent organisation. Overall, the best agency I've used to-date.... Read more

I would never use this agency again. I rented a room in a house with them for a year and it was a nightmare for many reasons. They were unprofessional, and incompetent. Some of the issues included: During the transition from Countrywide to Austin and Wyatt (from what I understand the branch was bought around the time I moved into the house) they failed to pass on vital information to us such as changing the accounts in which we were meant to pay, not telling us correct details about reference numbers, etc., THEN proceeded to threaten us with eviction for not paying rent, not once but SEVERAL times, despite the fact that we had actually all paid. After we proved this was the case (after I meticulously sent all of the details to them in a spreadsheet with all tenants bank details), I received no acknowledgement that we were right, or that the money had been found, or an apology, despite months of being stressed out that we were going to be evicted. It is absolutely ridiculous that we were treated this way for no reason, when it was the incompetence of the agency that caused this to happen in the first place, not us. If we had all been given the SAME and CORRECT information, none of this would have happened. Additionally, the fees charged are astronomical and I have never experienced this elsewhere. To modify the tenancy agreement at my flat in Bristol (just to add me to the agreement with my husband), it cost just £50, was done immediately, and we were able to do it online through an online system. With Countrywide (or whatever you call it), it was to cost over £200 to change the names of the tenants, took several weeks to get the correct paperwork (and were constantly being harassed by the agency for not sending it back despite never receiving it), had to be done by post, and we never did receive a signed copy from the agency afterwards. I was completely unhappy with everything the agency did over the last year. I have never had so many problems with an agency as I have with this company, despite dealing with several in the last 4 years since I moved to the UK.... Read more

My partner and i were so fortunate to meet Sally Rolls from your Eastleigh branch. She was professional, friendly and knew what we wanted in a rental property. Within a couple of days she found us a beautiful two bedroom property with a garden courtyard and after three weeks of moving in we couldn't be happier.
