Was very impressed with Belvoir when I first met them and during my tenancy. Sadly they let themselves down when I gave my notice on the property.
I explained to Belvoir I needed to end the tenancy as I was losing my father, and would need to move home to help with finances. Their treatment of me was quite traumatic. I was living in the one bedroom property with two cats and had said I am happy for them to host viewings, just give me enough notice to tidy. Belvoir only made me aware of two separate viewing days where they hosted 4 prospective tenants. I was present for the first viewing and not with the others.
I then received an email out of the blue to say that I was leaving the property messy and the feedback the flat was cluttered (it is a very small one bedroom flat). I stated that I had thoroughly cleaned the property and there wasn't anymore I could do. A week after this email, Belvoir emailed me at 3pm to host a viewing at 5.30 which I said was not possible as I was at work and the property wasn't tidy, as much as they tried to pressure the viewing I refused and said that the tenancy states they need to provide 24 hours notice and I had been flexible in the past.
Two weeks after this, I receive a phone call from Belvoir stating they had done multiple viewings at the property and that the feedback was clients wanted to see it empty. I was only aware of 4 viewings of the property and asked if there had been more at which they admitted they had done multiple viewings without informing me. This distressed me that they had been accessing the property without informing me, and is a criminal offence. They apologised and made up excuses as to why this happened. They then gave me two options, stay in the property till end of tenancy and they stop viewings or vacate the property but still pay the rent till the end of tenancy which I found outrageous. I stated I will move out early but not pay the rent which they eventually agreed to.
It has now taken two and a half weeks to get an agreement on my deposit and rent refund. The only reason it has been agreed is because I have had to chase multiple times.... Read more

Poor experience.
They were very professional and easy to get hold of when I was initially signing the paperwork to rent a place. Once I moved in though, issues began popping up. The flat was not cleaned prior to hand over, there was rotting food in the freezer, the shower didn't work for 3-4 days, there were stains on the curtains etc. They would take a while to respond to my emails and would take days to send people to fix these issues. On moving out, they deducted a considerable sum from my deposit for the flat not having been cleaned properly (although it was given back in a better condition than I received it) and for other issues which had been present even before I moved in. I would advise keeping photographic evidence of everything so that you do not fall into the same trap I did. On a couple of occasions they even brought prospective tenants to view the flat without letting me know, and walked in on me whilst I was in the flat. Poor communication in this regard.... Read more
