25th Apr 2024 (2 days ago)I don't know why but, I feel they are just waste of time. they show house to about 30 people. then they call for interview with the owner. Owner is least interested in talking and decides just by looking at you if you can afford to pay the rent. Decision takes forever and meanwhile if we follow up. Once, very interested to reply guy (Anil Ranakoti) turns to a not interested to talk and reply guy. when called to know the status says ' you don't have to call, if you are selected you will get to know' I am serving notice to my current landlord, i can't let you take your own sweet time to reply.

20th Mar 2024 (5 weeks ago)Do not recommend. They were ok at beginning of tenancy as they want to make money Ofc. But extremely difficult at end of tenancy. They tried to take my deposit for things I was not responsible for such as a faulty boiler (which I reported months before I handed in my notice). They were aware of this as they provided the inventory. Very difficult and rude admin personnel. Avoid. Avoid.

6th Apr 2024 (21 days ago)We had a few viewings from them, there was an offer put in for the house mid December 2023. Client had over £200k of deposit. They pushed us to get solicitor etc buyer was ready to go. We did that at start of January 2024.We heard nothing, no even mention of Survey, until we pushed on 05/03/24,there was NO response. then the agent said they were arranging survey, under valued house by £100k, valued at standard 3 bed house. They got another survey arranged, this was then valued at £40k under. The Buyer should not have been allowed to view the property if they could NOT afford the property. I sent a message on 23/03/24 with drawing the property with them as they had wasted 4 months.. we had another offer from a different agent also in Dec but as we had accepted the offer from Scotts we went with them. Big mistake !!!

Very proactive and helpful to manage to propery. I will highly recommend The Property Shop.

At first I was nervous so had a lot of questions regarding renting our house. He was very patient and explained everything. He has years of experience, which he shares and tailored to our particular need. The brochure, wording and photography for the listing is amazing. The service from Julian and his team are seamless.

9th Apr 2024 (18 days ago)Was keen on viewing a house but some 12 year old kid named Mo who they have manning the phones was completely useless in organising a viewing and eventually said that the house was sold despite not being sold. I went and viewed the house at another local estate agent who were very good at organising a viewing. I event put in an offer and gazumped the poor person who had the misfortune of dealing with Mo and Co at Brown and Merry. I am currently typing this review from that very house! Lesson learnt, when selling £500K+ houses don’t put a 12 year old as your front of house!

3rd Mar 2024 (8 weeks ago)Im shocked at the level of lack professionalism disreguard of potential tennents aswell of lack of care. I arranged a viewing for saturday. Its a good job i called up to confirm and check the address. Turns out my viewing had been cancelled as property was gone. No one called me to update me. I would of been standing out side waiting in the rain and no one would of been coming. To add insult to the matter, when asked why i wasnt informed i was told there was 40-50 people viewing, they didnt have time to call so many people. The lack of care and whatever attidtude is some what concerning. So basicaly we dont care about letting you know you been cancelled. Leads me to wounder if they are the same with tennants. If something needs replacing or fixing will they even respond?

They were constantly available to deal with any questions in a friendly and knowledgeable way and unfailingly helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to all.
17th Nov 2023 (23 weeks ago)Please avoid renting with them at all costs! You will never get your deposit back. Our flat was 30+ year old and tired as you would expect, which we accepted when we moved in. We lived there only 11 months as the house was poorly insulated, we even had ice inside the house in the winter months, they never fixed it (among other things) so we decided to leave the flat. To our surprise, when we handed over the house, they brought their 'expert', a guy called Mark who has been with them for ages, as an 'independent' inspector, who obviously isn't. They will claim all kinds of non existent changes and damages and deduct if from your deposit! they event claimed is our fault that a crack appeared on the ceiling! AVOID!
18th Mar 2024 (6 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!- 10th Apr 2024 (17 days ago)Mr Michael Beaumont the manager of Gibbs Gillespie at Northwood branch and his team (Faye, Mathew, Danielle, Maggie) have exceeded our expectations in their efficiency and professionalism They have successfully managed to sell our house and find us our new house They were all very supportive, active, efficient, helpful and honest We couldn’t have asked for more Highly recommended Thank you

He has been superb in the sale of our house and went above and beyond to ensure that our sale went ahead. From the beginning to the end he has had a positive outlook. On our viewings he was bright and bubbly and ensured that the viewers were made aware of the benefits of our property,. When we eventually agreed a sale we had a long process due to the fact that the buyers held up matters, however Rhys would always be pressing to try and speed up the process and always kept us up to date and informed. At one stage our buyer went abroad, Rhys was on calls to our buyer at 1030 at night trying to deal with their queries in an attempt to push our sale through. We can’t thank Rhys enough for what he did for us. He is a real credit to his trade and we would throughly recommend using him to friends and family. Again thank you Rhys Henry
