Poor service provided especially due to communication problems. False promises being made by Caryn Randall (Branch manager) and James Norman (Lettings manager) saying that they would do things and not bother. I have made many chase calls and visited the Derby branch about getting the deposit back due to the tenant leaving the property in a bad state. The deposit was paid to the dps from Century 21 so the dps would only speak to them as they require there details including there head office address in London etc I chased century 21 to get this resolved with the dps for over 2 months and now it's almost sorted after myself chasing many times! They make every excuse when you call in Nornally saying the person you need isn't here at the moment. I would advise you stay away from Century 21 and go else where as there are many other reputable companies in Derby.... Read more

I suspect that this review portal will not permit me to leave a no star review. If, this is the case please do not assume that this business has any positive attributes. I unequivocally recommend that you walk past their office and use any other property management company. Unless of course you have a penchant for bad service, being the victim of exploitation and dishonesty. In these aspects of consumer service they excel. They typify the example of a business model in "RIP OFF BRITAIN" where the failure of society to police them encourages and supports their success. Below, is an extract of a letter that I have just sent to the Derby office, if these meet your expectations then their door will always be open for you! A continuous unreasonable delay in sending my payment of rent received. The history below shows an irregular payment cycle which has caused me financial difficulties in meeting my mortgage payments. A suitable procedure or system process that identifies when a tenants payment has become overdue and instigating the correct procedural response necessary to protect the landlord's interest. A failure to provide a remittance of payment made either before or after the money has been sent A failure to provide notice for deductions made against the rental income other than those that form part of the agreed contract terms A failure to carry out property inspections within the terms of our agreement. ( I found it necessary for me to remind you of that !) A failure to carry out a property inspection with due care and diligence. ( At present there is a birds nest located within the soffit and roof area, this situation if not resolved could cause damage to the property.... Read more

I am not normally moved to write a review #BUT i have to say I find all the staff at Century 21 helpful, professional and very good at business! They do not sit around and wait for it to happen - they make it happen. Sarah and I buy and sell 4 or 5 properties each year and Century 21 always give us honest advise and sell them for us! In addition, they are always updating us on what is coming on the market - Thank you, Anita, Sally, Sam, Gemma and Dan (sorry if I have forgotten anyone!). Rich & Sarah... Read more

We recently sold our first property through Century 21 and were greeted with a helpful and friendly team who assured us and answered every query we had throughout the process due to their expertise. If they could not answer they would always go away, find out and contact us back. I felt that Century 21 communicated with us very well throughout the whole process when it came to arranging viewings, throughout the exchange and completion process. I actually found that Century 21 kept us more informed than our solicitor did meaning we could obtain required information ready for the request for it a couple of days later. Our sales progressor also provided us with regular updates, keeping us aware of what was happening. Our house sold within a week and a half of going on the market at the end of November, in total we had six viewings and our house was up with two estate agents, 5 of the viewings came from Century 21. I felt very supported throughout the whole process especially by our sales progressor who was always very helpful and kind.... Read more

I purchased and sold a property with century 21 Derby and I must admit I was a complete novice. I was nervous about the process as it was our family home and we had so many memories and we wanted to achieve a good sale price and also sell to the right buyer. Sam Rashid, Senior Sales Negotiator, negotiated our sale and helped us find our new property, she is a fantastic asset to her team and is extremely professional and regularly went the extra mile to make sure everything ran smoothly. It is no exaggeration that all the staff at the Derby team are great at what they do, they are very approachable and nothing is ever too much for them. It was lovely to be pointed in the right direction. Sally progressed our sale and she gave us regular updates about the legalities and conveyancing progress. When you are buying and selling simultaneously it is hard not to be stressed about moving and we worried about timings as we had kids moving schools too. Appalled by the service received from this company all through our tenancy. Individual agents are friendly enough, but nobody takes any responsibility for helping with a customer’s problem. Head office and local offices don’t communicate with each other, and staff members give conflicting advice and information. Email answer times are extremely long and answers are often not helpful. Calling is not much more useful as queue times are very long and the advice you get depends on who happens to answer the phone. We had our guarantor contacted about our rent before us, our move-out date was moved back and forth several times, we were given a due date for our rent that was four weeks past the true deadline and would have ended up in arrears... we are happy to not have to deal with this company again, and really cannot recommend it....
