Possibly the worst lettings agent I have ever dealt with. I don't have the energy to even begin to explain how incompetent this agency and their partner Thamesside are. I have read through many 1 star reviews on here and every review is answered with a message saying to contact them! How about you respond to customers in the first place and then tou wouldn't have so many negative responses. Unbelievable but it seems just the norm in today's world of incompetent and uninterested agents. AVOID.

We had a tight timeframe for viewing properties in and around Hereford, and Timothy not only took my call at 5pm on a Friday evening but also managed to get multiple house viewings for the next working day. We have a good day visiting these with Ellie, who was bubbly and enthusiastic and later went on to buy one of the properties we'd viewed. Their sales progresser in Bracknell needed a bit of chivvying and seemed slightly over worked but everyone we interacted with at there Hereford office could not have done more to help. Without them, I don't think we'd have managed to move!

The worst possible experience with an agent but I can't give zero stars. We viewed a property on the 16th of August with miss Ellie Humphrey, Chancellors agent. She doesn't seem to be bothered at all that she received a list of further questions to answer, as we were interested in that property. I personally contacted her 3 times for her to reply only to my second email(where I asked if she could at least let me know if she got it). She replied with a promise she'll get this information for us. After over a week without a reply I called the agency, only to be informed that the property is under offer and with yet another promise from another Chancellors employee that miss H. will contact me with the details I asked for. As far as I'm aware, accordingly to Estate Agents Act 1979, agents are obliged to give each potential buyer the same treatment - provide relevant information to clients declaring interest. My last attempt was yesterday morning, as I sent her one last email but this is ridiculous. And I know for a fact she's not on holiday or away from work, because the person who I spoke to on the phone said they will speak to miss H. I tried to be understanding and give her time but two weeks should be more than enough to contact the seller, especially that she did have time to do business with another potential buyer.
From now on I will be avoiding Chancellors at all cost and I will share my experience if anyone ever asks me for my opinion.

The worst estate agent ever for landlords . I have been renting my properties about 20 years and this Agents were worst for me. They supose to work for landlords because they charge you for it( for my case 200 pound a month) my property was damaged over 4 times like ceiling, lights missing , windows glass broken, carpets was damaged by bog and wine and food was on the carpets , removed the trees from garden without permission etc. I have to pay all form this my pocket and I told him they damadged it so they have to pay for it and all I was told by one for their colleage I can just question it that's it never been heard about it and funny part was ,when I gave them notice then 3 months later from another estate agents called me about same tenants and they told new agent that they were charging money for the damaged but they were never told me that so would not recommend this sacmanes . ZERO STARS!! Hereford Chancellors just awful.
They don’t return your calls
They don’t return your emails.
They don’t send your viewing feedback.
Very poor customer communication experience.
We were left feeling that they were biased towards the buyers and not us the vendors.
We had very little communication from them.
They only communicate when they want to.
Caused almost complete communication breakdown between us and our buyers.
Our respective solicitors saved the situation by instigating direct contact between us and buyers via WhatsApp.
16 weeks to get to Exchange.
They almost derailed Exchange by interfering at a crucial point when asked by solicitors not to.
But Chancellors still want their Commission.
We have tried a formal complaint against Chancellors Hereford and have just had our feedback from them.
I now feel extremely personally upset by the response from their Directors.
Horrible customer experience.
Horrible company to deal with.
Do Not use Chancellors Estate Agents if you value your sanity.

We found them to be friendly and efficient and we were well informed throughout and would highly recommend Chancellors.

Put offer in on property in October 24 in Hereford....it took until Feb 25 to get keys! No communication.Had to chase them for everything. The girl that showed us the property went underground after the offer was accepted. No return calls. Lack of enthusiasm by members of staff. No sold sign was ever put up & for sale board is still there! Have asked 6 TIMES for sale board to be removed and we're now in June. Went into office & they all just stared at me. Would not sell or buy a property with them & definitely would not recommend them.

George scheduled us for a viewing at the last minute, and we are very grateful. Due to the high volume of interest in the property, we are lucky we got a chance to view it.
My partner and I thought George was very friendly and helpful. We were shown around the property, and our questions were answered confidently.
George sent us the application forms first thing in the morning and has assisted us with our enquiry. Now, we have our fingers crossed for a good outcome.

Just leaving a review for Timothy Whorwood. He is a very good estate agent. He has impressed me with his balance of being proactive but not pushy, very pleasant and charming to deal with, and gave the unpression of being very good at his job. unfortunately we never got the chance to put this to the test as we chose not to go to sale at the moment, but i was in no doubt that if we were to sell we would be using Chandlers and Timothy ad our agents.

Absolute predatory behaviour. They force you to do a background check at your cost to put an offer on their property. The company they use then signs you up to a monthly payment which you never consent to. These background checks are always paid by the agent. Not to mention that the estate agents try to gaslight you if you bring up any concern. Avoid at all costs.

Having viewed many houses in Herefordshire, we were lucky to find the one we wanted and Chancellor’s were the agent selling the house. The representative who showed us around was very helpful but when the usual melee of to’s and fro’s with solicitors was in progress, it was Timothy at the Hereford office that kept things moving, professional and in a calm manner that oozed confidence. He dealt with the vendors promptly negotiating areas that had to be agreed and all was delivered with a smile and his willingness to help. His style took the pressure off the purchase and we were delighted to receive the keys from Timothy as we started our new life in this beautiful county.

An absolutely awful company, do not deal with them. Our experience of letting our property through Chancellors and Thameside Property Management has been filled with unnecessary stress and hassle. Our tenants have left however they will not send me the final inspection report and have not returned my keys. They will not respond to my phone calls and emails.
Thameside Property management are by far the worst company I have ever dealt with, Chancellors should be embarrassed to work with them.

Everyone I have spoken to at Chancellors has been lovely and very helpful. They are quick in responding to any questions you may have and keep you up to date on how your sale is going.
However, when we found a buyer and were passed on to chancellors sales progression team it was a different story. Unlike the team at Hereford, these people were unhelpful and frustrating to work with.
A couple times when I called them they answered the phone with ‘alright mate’, obviously not expecting it to be a customer on the line. Very unprofessional.
It’s a shame that the sales team could not match the great service that we got from the Hereford branch.

Absolutely horrible company to deal with. We placed my recently deceased father's property in their hands and signed their agreement online under pressure. On looking at the small print shortly after signing their digital contract I saw that although our commission rate was low the marketing costs were not by any means inclusive. By coincidence my sister in law was selling her property with Chancellors at the same time and confirmed that they have had a terrible experience with Chancellors and were getting regular marketing bills for hundreds of pounds. After 72 hours I exercised my right to withdraw from the contract as was my prerogative during the 14 day cooling off period. I then received a bill for over £200 for costs accrued during that 72 hour period and an email which was claiming that they may be entitled to a fee, even if our new agents sold the property. At this point they hadn't actually done any work of note. We hadn't even had photos taken or a for sale marketing pack completed. This email did not factor in that our contract was by then null and void as we'd exercised our right to withdraw during the 14 day cooling off period. Credit control pursued the payment and I eventually paid £180 after they'd very kindly deducted their £36 charge for erecting a for sale sign AFTER I'd given notice that we no longer wished to proceed. I'd advise anyone thinking of going with Chancellors to scrutinise the contract before signing anything. We are now with a reputable agent who agreed a sale within days of being instructed and the marketing and pictures were so much more attractive and of a higher quality than for other similar properties marketed with Chancellors. According to the t&c's in the Chancellors contract it would appear that they don't provide any follow up to progress the transaction once a sale has been agreed, unless you sign a separate contract with their nominated conveyancer at an additional fee. This has been an incredibly stressful experience whilst coping with a painful bereavement and I would implore anyone thinking of signing up with Chancellors to exercise caution as they don't let anyone go easily, charge for anything and everything their extensive t & c's permit and pursue the debt aggressively.

I'm not usually a fan of writing negative reviews, but feel compelled to do so due to (ongoing) terrible customer service from Chancellors (via Thameside Property Management). We're renting a property through them and they've been useless at sorting out any issues we've been having, slow to respond, lacking common sense and a general pain in the arse. An example - they gas certificate expired and no-one knew about it, they emailed us to say it had expired and they couldn't get someone out for 2 weeks to renew it so we couldn't use gas..... It was minus 10 degrees at that time.... Personally will try to never rent or buy through them if at all possible.

Had a wonderful experience with Chancellors and their lettings manager Lyndsey Collier. We were looking for a house for quite a while and had so many letting agencies making false promises like they would send a video of the property or come back to us later and never did... Not with Lyndsey, she did everything she said she would do. She came back to us at the times she promised us, always answered promptly and in the end found us a great house what so many others couldn't. And on top she was very lovely, so I would highly recommend her and chancellors.

Both agents were efficient and knowledgeable, in their arrangments for viewing bookings and information on the properties. Thanks to Chris for showing us round a property recently! We brought our 5yr old with us who was quite challenging as children want to know everything and love anything new to them so viewing a property with people already living there which obviously contains all their possessions was a playground! We found him attentive, supportive and complimentary, with excellent attention to detail and always ready to offer sound, expert advice. During our sale, he came back to us promptly with the comments of viewers and was willing to discuss the ‘between-the-lines’ detail (and to warn us of any concerns that he might have). We had estimates of value and selling style from different agents in Hereford.
Chancellor’s came in with a bang, great research, thorough look around the house and a price that pleased us.
Zoe was so dynamic we signed up during her visit and the taster advert was up on the next day.
The official photos were marvellous and we have had prospects looking round the house.
Our home is not bland and some of the modern kitchen is not to everyone’s taste - however Chancellors’s point out the coloured cupboard doors are only Dulux paint !!
We have had the house on the market for three weeks and so far we are VERY pleased with our agents.

The team at the Hereford branch itself were helpful enough, but if you are a landlord looking to use Chancellors as agents and managers, needing to deal with their central office and management team, then do so at your peril. On many occasions I've had to chase for simple confirmations, updates and owed payments for weeks. I've been told information that was factually incorrect more than once in my dealings with Chancellors. I'm sorry I didn't go with the agents I've just switched to from the beginning. I would certainly not recommend them.

This estate agent is really dodgy - avoid! We tried to enquire about a property and they insisted on taking our details before they would even tell us if it was still available. Obviously using enquiries as a strategy to try to bolster their database. Very unethical. If that is the first impression, just imagine what they would be like to deal with during a sale! Very poor form.

After an initially positive experience all my emails to follow up with regards to information that I was told would be forthcoming have been ignored.
An initial call was taken last week and I was promised some information would be sent and I would receive a call back - since then neither has happened. 2 follow up calls have simply resulted in the same thing - no one available but I will apparently receive a call back (That doesn't materialise).
It's been just about a week now of being ignored and I am disappointed with the lack of professionalism, especially after such a positive initial experience.

Throughout the duration of our house sale the staff at Russell, Baldwin and Bright were professional, calm, considerate, patient and understood my needs as a client. Chris in particular was always available to give feedback and communication was excellent. I would recommend Chris and Russell, Baldwin and Bright to anyone without any reservations.

Going well so far. Offer came from third viewer. I'll raise this to a 5* provided that the sale goes through! (2 June: Sale has gone through, so review rated to 5* as promised. Chris was very helpful in prodding lethargic conveyancers.)
