We have been using Chissick Estate for letting our property for about 7 years, at the beginning the experience was decent, Chissick Estate took care of all necessary procedures and maintained a largely smooth experience when tenant was paying rent on time. We did have a tenant delayed rent payments due to health condition that lead to temporary disability to work. We arranged meeting with tenant to understand the situation, we offered small discounts, installments, allowing delays until tenant receives benefits. It took months and the matter was finally resolved.
The next tenant was put forward by Chissick Estate whom passed initial referencing, although this one was a lot different. At the beginning of his tenancy, everything was as usual until we found the payments were lacking or greatly delayed for several months without any notification from the agency. We contacted Chissick Estate and learn it was a self-employed man with a vile attitude who is happy to occupy the property and refuses to pay any rent, he refused meeting nor communicating with both landlord and agency, covered windows with newspapers. Chissick Estate attempted to file for rent protection insurance but due to the lack of noticing the missing rent, they have passed the 30 days cut-off point of claiming, resulting the policy being denied. Chissick Estate took no responsibility and claimed they were “learning”. Failing to receive any payment, we had to resolve this matter via legal means. We as landlord had to research, coordinate, arrange and pay a solicitor to file for section 8 and section 21. It took several months leading to tenant’s eviction, during the whole process the agency offered minimum help and guidance, often evasive of any responsibility, they are very difficult to get hold of, rarely return messages and have no one taking care of matters when the particular agent is on holiday. However, the agent did offer to attend court hearing on behalf of landlord. We ended up spending the legal fees, granted Order of Possession, retrieved the property in an atrociously unhygienic state, and still unsuccessful in chasing back lost rent to this date.
It is very questionable to Chissick Estate’s tenant selection process leading to a number of traumatizing letting experiences. Although their charge is relatively low, I would not recommend Chissick Estate to anyone, especially for letting.

Had a terrible experience with this estate agent, took them a very short time to find us a tenant who passed an individual referencing. Very soon it’s clear that’s a shady, self-employed tenant with vile attitude and refuse to pay rent, Chissick Estate didn’t let us know until we noticed money hasn’t been transferred for serval months. Then the agent took action to file for payment protection insurance but past the expiration period which leads to the insurance being denied. We ended up having to go through all the section 8 and section 21 process, filing paper works, liaising with solicitor ourselves and lost a lot of rent money and legal fees on top. And as expected, after several traumatising months we finally got the property back and was left in an atrocious state (broken shower and white goods, rubbish everywhere etc.) During the whole process the estate agent provided minimum guidance and support, Paulo was very difficult to get hold of, often not returning calls with no staff taking care of matters while he’s on holiday, they pretty much only did what they had to do when asked/chased many times. I would not recommend using them at all.

We bought recently a property with Chissick States and the service was very good. We had some problems with the sellers to find certain information about the property because it was a probate sale, but Kerry Bates worked hard with the sellers to find the information and kept us updated. A terrible agent. Very unresponsive and expects clients to chase up for updates. Also discriminative as they do not want to go with particular buyers even though they are in a better position.

I'm sorry I didn't read the reviews on your other profile first, that error wasted time I will never get back. Without naming names, I found the staff here unfriendly and judgemental. I know demand/supply in London is in their favour, but show some respect.
