Great experience overall from all the team.
Specially Daisy who was very kind, profesional and responsive. She kept good communication between the seller and myself, with clear updates regarding the process, answering all my questions promptly. She accommodated the view appointments when I needed, and even waited a bit longer for me to get the keys, as I was running late due to work.

Having been left frustrated by a national estate agent brand earlier in the year we decided to market our house with a local independent.
Sales agent Daisy was assigned our property and worked hard to generate and arrange viewings. We were very impressed with her constant communication, updating us on viewers feedback and keeping in touch, even at quieter times.

Cooksleys have been great when selling our 2 bedroom end of terrace house. Our agent Jaz came round and took pictures and the house was on the market within 24 hours. We got a weekly report about statistics from Rightmove, and Jaz kept us up to date about interest and potential viewings. We accepted an offer within a week of it being listed. Mary was exceptionally helpful towards the end of the process when nearing exchange and completion, and I'd like to thank her for her determination and updates. I am just about to come to the end of renting a house for more than a decade with Cooksleys as the agent. I really can’t recommend them highly enough. I’ve rented property in and around Exeter for 30 years, both privately and through letting agents, and Cooksleys have provided far and away the best experience. They do everything regarding inspections and general upkeep to the letter, with great care not to inconvenience the tenant. Also, anything I reported as a concern with the house was dealt with very quickly, using very professional people to do any necessary work.
The outstanding feature of dealing with Cooksleys, though, is that they really do care about their tenants at a personal level. When the house I had rented for so long was to be sold, meaning the tenancy would be terminated, I received a telephone call from Mark Reynolds (Managing Director) to tell me of this, because he did not wish me simply to receive an impersonal letter. That sort of kindness is rare in the renting world! And not only this. For 18 months I was stuck overseas due to the Covid-19 situation and Cooksleys were very understanding and absolutely brilliant in helping me maintain the house at a distance. In particular, the help I received from Nicola Reynolds (Director) was fabulous. A potentially very stressful situation was simply rendered not so.
Over the period of ending the tenancy, Cooksleys have continued to be very supportive, too. Here I am much indebted to Kym Hamilton, who is a Letting Co-Ordinator at Cooksleys. If I have had a concern or a question, I have emailed Kym and had a close-to-immediate response, and the response has always been written in a way that, even as I am ending the tenancy, it clearly matters that my experience is a good one.

Despite the best efforts of our solicitor who seemed to bury her head in the sand for a week or 2 every time someone tried to communicate with her, Cooksleys relationships with the other parties' solicitors meant they managed to persevere keeping us up to date with the other parties information and the progress of various easements required enabling a long and complicated sale reach a successful conclusion. Always polite, positive, and helpful.

Cookselys are the worst of estate agents I have ever used , we rented our property from them whilst looking for a house to buy! it's a shame that the service was so poor because some of the house they had on the market was really nice. However was not worth the stress the staff have put me and partner through! This includes the owners who was I would I would say had less customer services skills then anyone else. It is clear that Mark and Nicola ( The owners ) are only worried about the money you pay them and after that they couldn't care less and are worried about who they are going to charge next. Throughout our 6 month tenancy , which we finished early because we couldn't bare to deal with the estate agents any longer. We have had no water for days on end more then once, water leaks, no hot water, threats of extra charges for routine maintenance that is the responsibility of the landlord. we have been hung up and spoken to rudely to by the owners, on top of what ever else I can't think of right now. Honestly if your looking for an estate agents that will treat you with divinity , respect and look after you, I would go elsewhere. to top this all off, during our final month renting from Cookselys. one of the members of staff have been into our house. ripped off the oven door (rendering the oven unusable) meaning for the second time for the duration of our stay we had no oven ( This time for a month) when I called and spoke to mark ( the owner his response when mentioned this to him as it was a member of staff he has arranged to visit the property that broke the oven was "Right???" ) it goes to show how little respect he has for tenants and landlords. Tenants and Landlords! if you want a good experience with an estate agents. I strongly suggest you go elsewhere, I can't stress this enough! though I'm sure this review will get deleted as I've had friends leave negative reviews which strangely go missing. I would leave zero stars if it would allow me.

Cooksleys is an organisation that is well run, and you can tell they really care about their work. I am a tenant in one of the houses and have been for 4 or 5 months now. All communication has been in depth and clear, we were made aware of all procedures for contacting different people to fix things etc right from the beginning. The tenancy pack was thorough and professional, the itinerary was up to date and complete. They have always been quick to respond to any questions or queries and their customer service has been second to none. I would highly recommend Cooksleys to manage your property or if you're a tenant to give you an excellent lettings experience. (I'm sure the sales side is also great but can't comment from experience!)

After moving to Exeter and contacting numerous Estate Agents, Cooksleys were the only ones who regularly kept in contact with me. When they promised to call or email me they did. I picked the house after a first viewing with the lovely Sam, who reminded me to look at the small things such as water pressure etc, Mark showed us around the property for a second measure up viewing. This was the second time I had met Mark, the previous property wasn't suitable for us but the viewing was informative. Once I had chosen the property I was then in touch with Kym in the office, she helped me through the paperwork and processed our application swiftly and even met us slightly earlier than opening time as we were from out of the area & she managed to get us into the property 2 weeks earlier than I expected. Since we have found the need to use the services of Nicola the manager of the maintenance of the properties, she has been efficient in resolving a few snags that we had & has kept us up to date with progress. I have now been with the company for 12 months and have found them highly professional in every dealing that I have had with them. During Covid they have kept me updated on servicing, PAT Testing and essential maintenance that required completing. The contractors they use if there are any issues are also first class and a pleasure to deal with.
10/10 for this Company, reliable, efficient and a friendly bunch to deal with through one of the most stressful times a family can have.

Communicating with them from London throughout I thought could be a little problematic however this in fact made no difference with communication lines by phone/email always open and promptly acted on.
They were very professional giving good advice on a realistic current value of the property, without the usual `flannel` of inflating the selling price as some agents seem to do, and how best to market the property. Professionalism is definitely the ethos of the Cooksleys business as is understanding and patience, as demonstrated when unexpected hold-ups occurred whilst waiting for certain legalities to be completed.
Our family would definitely recommend Cooksleys for anyone buying/selling a property in the Exeter area.

First time moving into a flat, I really didn't know what I was doing. Mark was on hand when I viewed the property and was very professional as it is during the lockdown to stay outside whilst we viewed and had abti vac on the stairs, was very helpful to answer questions whilst outside and keeping the 2 metres. Then I bombarded Kim with lots of of questions which she must have heard a billion times before but was very helpful. As well as phoning Kym I also emailed and she was so prompt at replying always within a couple of hours but mostly even less! Terrible service and communication. Was left to wait for 45 minutes at a property with a toddler, after being told that we would be collected for additional viewings from there. No show and when we called was told the agent that was meant to be collecting us was the other side of Exeter.
Would not recommend either selling or buying a property through this estate agency. Very poor management and service.

I feel fortunate to have found such a professional letting agent after quite some time of research.
I have been most impressed with them throughout tenancy from all members of staff.
Response times to any maintenance issues that have come up have been dealt with very quickly and efficiently.

I've rented a Cooksleys property for a year and a half now and have enjoyed consistently speedy, friendly, and helpful assistance. Even when I write about minor, non-emergency issues, I always get an immediate response and useful advice. They keep me up to date on any visits to my flat and on the progress of any ongoing work at the property. One good example of excellent customer service: Earlier this year, the lock to my front door unexpectedly stopped working properly and I ended up locked out of my flat one morning; they sent a repairman to replace it during the day and I was able to get in once I returned from work that evening. I always get the sense that they remember me and care about me, and am not just one of many faceless renters.
