To start off as off today the David Hammond still have our deposit and also have kept the £180 extra we have paid in rent for facilities we did not have. I’d like to add that we ended up moving house as the estate agent came around to our home to ‘inspect the damp and issues we were having’ he proceeded to walk around the house telling us he has no interest and then told us the landlord was soling the property and wanted us out now. (Which is illegal and he knew that) we’ve never felt pressured in our whole life. We are a young couple and both the landlord and David Hammond took advantage of our vulnerability. The panic someone faces when they get told to move out of their home because they don’t want to fix the problems we’ve already paid for us shocking. Firstly me and my partner went for a viewing, we arrived at Palmerston and David Hammonds estate agent couldn’t have been more rude if he’s tried. He walked through the door, pulled his phone out and started ringing and chatting to people (personal matters) we went upstairs and he asked once again if he could be excused to use his phone. He was laughing, joking and being completely unprofessional to his girlfriend on the other end of the phone. I moved into Palmerston street in august, promised that the tenancy was a long term lease. The property had been leased out for 10 plus years and therefore we felt safe, being self employed we need to know where we will be from year to year as we have a diary that gets booked up. By the end of September we had already began to complain about the state of the mould up the walls due to the damp. They couldn’t have cared less. We were paying an extra £30 per month under the promise we could have animals at the house. However the house and especially the garden were in such poor condition we couldn’t have any animal there as it’s cruel and the state of the house was embarrassing. The toilet has been blocked over 8 or 9 times in the space of a 7 month tenancy. As the landlord was based abroad this was the excuse used every time an issue wasn’t fixed. For anybody thinking About going with David hammonds please don’t. They are a terrible company. You’ll never be able to get any issues sorted as the estate agent has no urgency or compassion towards renters.... Read more

Very good, I have used David Hammond to sell about 25 properties for me, they are professional and are constantly ringing round chasing the solicitors further down the chain. The office is staffed by people you would trust to sell your house rather than a bunch of school leavers which is frequently found in Estate agents.... Read more

I have used Hammond's to sell my house and the staff were amazing. They went that extra mile for me. The staff kept me fully informed ensuring they got feedback from viewing. Having sold my house and not being able to find a property I used them rent a property from until I found a house to purchase. I have since used them to survey the house I finally went on to buy.... Is there the possibility of giving this company a - rating? From my experience this is what they deserve! Absolutely waste of money. I have a 4 bed detached property which they were responsible for letting out on my behalf. Fair enough the tenants were grossly in arrears with the rent and had to go through all the hustle of getting an eviction order and eventually court bailiffs for eviction, which of course was no fault of theirs. However when as a landlord paying hefty management fees to have the property audited, checked etc, you are finally given the keys to your property back, after all the hustle and about six months of not receiving the rent due, upon entering you notice the drive full of oil stains, the front gate missing (literally taken away!) the garage door smashed in, the garden door totally destroyed, needing replacement, the house as filthy as a style, not to mention the appalling state of the internal doors, the stains on the walls and the damaged kitchen, one wonders how come such damages were never reported to you by the agents??...
