I bought a house 3 years ago and rent it out, I don’t have time to deal with any issues from the tenants, Whitegates deal with everything, I never hear from the tenants which is ideal, they charge a very fair price and their customer service is excellent. What a wonderful team at Whitegates! I have previously purchased through the Heanor branch and now let out a property with them. We highly recommend whitegates in Heanor, after finding a property on the market we needed a quick sale of our existing house whilst getting the most money out of our property and we contacted whitegates who were fantastic from the get go and achieved in us doing so.
Whitegates instructed they’re rental manager Lisa to see us the next day and give us advice on the possibility of renting our existing property and valuer Abbie the next day to give us further options, after assessing the advice given we chose to sell and Abbie had our property on the market within a couple of days. Whitegates gave us great advice to evaluate which options suited us best whether to rent or sell with a friendly and professional approach.

Really disappointed with our experience. We had arranged to view a property of theirs, first it was changed to the next day last minute, then on the day of the viewing, the agent was 30 minutes late. They also had another potential tenant viewing at the same time, but did not tell us this prior. The lady spent most of the time on her phone, did not show us around and was incredibly rude when we asked about whats going to be done about paint all over the floor if we were to move in, she said "well you can clean it or scrape it off yourself". Very unprofessional and unhelpful. It's a shame, as it was a nice property but the agent didn't seem interested at all, so completely put us off.

I've dealt with many estate agents however Whitegates heanor easily tops the lot. The ladies at the heanor branch are superb to deal with as a landlord and property developer when buying and selling. As a buyer and seller, they make the process easy with great communication until exchange and as a landlord, the office fulfil what a landlord expects; Looking after your properties, making sure they are available to help the tenants when needed - which is key to keep the tenants happy and income coming smoothly, as well as give competitive rates.
Personally the main thing I like about the company, is that everything is done in-house, to make transactions easier, smoother and quicker to deal with. Other/majority of estate agents are under the Connells umbrella who, because they are so big, have lost their customer relationship touch and focus on numbers. The individual agents might be good however there are so many different departments which deal with certain areas in the Connells umbrella which gets messy, takes time to get stuff sorted and you don't get the best overall service. Landlords are numbers to them, a target for monthly income to get, then forgotten about once you sign up. Myself and my Tennants have not been happy with that service so moved to Whitegates.
I would highly recommend Whitegates to landlords and want to thank Lisa and the team for their work and dedication, keeping my Tennants happy, and not seeing me as a number and monthly target but as a individual business they want to work with and I look forward to bringing more business to them in the future.

The team who help us, Sally, Louise and Abbie were crucial in the success of our move. We first put an offer on a house before having ours on the market, within the space of a week the Whitegates team had come to value, take professional pictures and had our house on the market. They already had many viewings lined up for us and that same weekend we had accepted an offer. The team at Whitegates Heanor are genuinely exceptional. Estate agents often get a bad press so it's really nice to be able to effuse genuinely about these guys. Sally and Louise should be delivering training in customer service because they're both brilliant. They're patient, and listen, and were both really personable, which is worth such a lot in what can be a very fraught process when buying/selling your house. But just being lovely people isn't the end of it. They're both seriously dedicated and never failed to to go chasing people in our long chain. Quite frankly they were way better than my solicitors at chasing answers and communicating with everyone in the chain. I cannot fault them at all and would like to thank them for really always being on hand when needed. If you're trying to decide between agents in this area, and if you're looking for people who will work tirelessly to get things moving, go with Whitegates. You never find out how good a company really is, until something goes wrong usually. The boiler in our house just stopped working about a month ago; which is never good in the colder months.
Whitegates and most notably Gemma, organised to get an engineer out to us by the next day and a little less than a week later; we had a new boiler. She kept us updated throughout over the phone and email and not only that; she also arranged to drop some heaters off so we wouldn't be cold in the house! Not only that; she called us a few days later; just to check that we were ok! Awesome...
I was staggered how good the customer service was - having experienced a boiler that needed replacing at a previous house we had rented from a different letting agency in the past (which was a total knightmare) the difference in how Gemma and the team handled it was "night and day" with our only other point of comparison.

I enquired about a house and was advised the landlord is looking for a couple. The rent was not particulary high so I didn't really understand this and feel unfairy discriminated against if I can afford the rent there shouldn't be an issue.
I also mentioned that I was worried about losing my holding deposit if my credit check failed. I don't have any CCJ's but was concerned about losing my £100.00 the lady I spoke to kept huffing and puffing over the phone and I found her quite patronising and unhelpful. I mentioned I didn't have a guarantor and she just basically said I would need one. I found her discriminatory, rude and unhelpful and I will not use in the future.

Terrible People. had a viewing was told had to check with the landlord first. i imagine these people, Pre judge you and if on the outside you do not meet there criteria they fob you off. why would you need to check with the landlord ? the whole reason the landlord is using you is to take away the headache from themselves? Anyway was told the landlord decided to go privately. Surprise, surprise! its still up for let! does not matter how well paid you are or how good your previous references are, if they do not like the look of you your not getting in!

Bad service. Viewed a property and expressed interest straight away. Deterred from applying as they 'had to check with Landlord first' and was promised a call back. This never happened so phoned in and they said they would chase and call back. This never happended either. Turns out they have now let property to someone else. Can appreciate the letting market is fierce, but lying to and misleading customers is unacceptable. Would not recommended.

Whitegates have been managing my rental property in Heanor for the last few years, and have always been very proactive with any issues, and quickly resolve any problems that occur. When tenants have given notice, there has been a very swift changeover of tenants, and have never experienced any issues with rent - always bring paid, and on time. Although the cleanliness of the house at the end of tenancy sometimes leaves a lot to be desired, Whitegates have always taken steps to resolve this, and are strong advocates of money being taken from the bond, when absolutely necessary, to rectify this.
A very special thanks to Lisa over the recent change of tenants, at a very difficult time for me personally, went way above and beyond the normal customer service expectation. I would highly recommend to both landlords and tenants for an excellent service.

We had several different agents come round to value our property and Whitegates gave the highest valuation and so we chose to put our house on the market with them. The photos taken weren't up to my standard, the detail on the website and rightmove was incorrect including room dimensions, I had to chase several times to get the board up and to have these details updated. I ended up doing the majority of the pictures myself, they couldn't organise the pictures so they flowed on rightmove eg 2 x lounge photos 2x kitchen photos, and so on, it was messy eg lounge- kitchen- garden- bedroom- kitchen- lounge. The overall attention to detail was very poor. Whilst chasing I was finding no one was answering the phone, returning voicemails, nor responding to emails. I asked a friend to call to make an enquiry on our house, to see whether they just weren't picking up for me. She phoned twice over 2 days, left a voicemail the second time with the enquiry and her called wasn't returned.
Whitegates were told to remove our property from the market the next week. Someone should ALWAYS be available to answer the phone and ALWAYS returning voicemails. As a seller i couldn't get through and it was apparent potential buyers could not either.
I have also noted that there are very few Sold signs on Whitegates boards. As the valuation was significantly higher than other agents I have a feeling the valuation is set high to lure you in. Which wouldn't be such an issue i guess if they actually worked to present your house to the buyers market in the best possible light, but that wasn't the case. I had been warned from a neighbour who sold their last home with Whitegates that service was poor but I've experienced it for myself. Deciding to sell your family home is stressful enough you don't need lazy agents.
I would say to potential sellers, don't be afraid to look outside of heanor for other agents, I've had good conversations with agents in ripley and belper and have also seen several boards from those agents with sold signs in the local heanor area.

Brilliant service so far, really on the ball with everything. Very professional and friendly staff. When I was asking for advice on who to use to sell our house every person i asked recommended Whitegates and I can see why!

We waiting for viewing 25 min than we suppose to viewing 2 houses whene she said one of the house gone in a week, no information before about that. Woman what come to show around she was absolutely rude.

Rude staff (not all but a couple) looked down on by a young lady when calling in heanor branch. Property was severely mouldy. Tried to accuse me and my partner of damage to the property that was already clearly stated in the tenancy agreement. Bombarded with letting visits the moment we sent leaving notice and tried but failed to negotiate some of our bond. Absolutely disgusting behavour. Needless to say I got the full bond back.

Rented a house from these and they were totally unprofessional. Gossiping about us to people viewing our house when our tenancy was up, sending rude emails. The living conditions were ridiculous and nothing ever got fixed in the house. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Booked a viewing but had to take time of work as agents dont view after 5pm or all day Saturday. The agent didn't turn up and no one called us. If I was the vendor I'd be fuming as we have decided we don't want to deal with whitegates and we will look elsewhere.
