Well what can I say a wonderful service yet again, from start to finish. I have used David Martin Lexden branch for about 4 house sales over the years. My current property was photographed wonderfully one morning 9 weeks ago, by teatime they introduced 4 prospective buyers, 2 of which Sam willingly showed around my home and by 5.30 the same day had 2 offers on the table, and 1 more the following morning. We viewed a property marketed by the agent (Colchester), who made the arrangements but did not show us around. Five days later a phone call was received where it was specifically mentioned that a colleague had taken time out to show us around, which was not the true, and that they had been trying to contact us; again not true. Having corrected the gentleman, who turned out to be the branch manager, he reiterated the falsehood, and wanted the feedback on the property. Not appreciating the tone nor the attitude nevermind the insinuation that we were wasting their time, the phone call was ended. Rather unfortunately, the gentleman telephoned again and asked why his tone was not appreciated. Before the explanation was given, he interrupted and would not stop from doing so. Whereby, he was told to "shut-up", twice, so that the explanation could be given. When he did not, the phone call was again ended. However, he telephoned back again whereby a request was made to speak to the manager, who he was, and then a request to have the area director telephone as this was now a formal complaint. It is rather unfortunate that a potential customer is treated with derision and almost utter contempt. Had we been interested in the property, we could never work with someone who lacks civility. We wish the sellers all the best, but urge them to reconsider their agent.... Read more

Clarification based on response from DMG. At no point did we ask for compensation in this process we only asked to be treated civilly. Again from the response you can see that this is not possible. This review is not for financial gain it is simply to inform on honest review of our experience with the letting agency which is permitted. We rented a property with DMG Colchester in August 2016. The service to get us in the property was excellent and we were filled with confidence. However within 2 weeks of us moving in the contact we had moved to another job and thereafter the service we have received from DMG has been appalling. They have failed to fix about 80% of the issues with the property while renting. We have reported health issues associated with the property and there was a cursory inspection, an invisible report which we were not issued and absolutely no follow up. Finally culminating in them entering the property when it came time for viewings without notifying us or gaining our consent. Completely disgraceful behaviour. When we moved house our only criteria was that it was not managed by DMG. Would not recommend them to either landlord or tenants.... Read more

Will never use this companys services again. Good customer services but lacking in procedures and following up with actions in due timescales. Avoid unless you have too much time on your hands and too little to do.... Read more

We have rented a property through David Martin Group. Nicky was helping us throughout. There was a small confusion with the number of the property at the beginning but after that I cannot fault Nicky's performance. It was a week and 2 days forms seeing the property to us moving in. We couldn't have been happier. Nicky liaised with the landlord on any issues and they were all resolved very quickly. We would recommend this estate agent for renting properties through....
