They are very professional and keep in touch and update you with everything. I highly recommend them as caring not pushy estate agents. Mums flat being a retirement flat is a niche property but they found the right people and i am delighted with their services.

From the beginning of the process till the end we have been fortunate to have a very smooth experience. Excellent service from my letting agent. The boiler at my dwelling packed up suddenly and Lynne at GR couldn’t have been more helpful. Contractors came the following day and worked until the issue was totally sorted.
Everyone I’ve dealt with at Gallant Richardson over the course of my house let has been really friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

We have been a Tennant with Gallant Richardson in the same property for the last 19 years. It is with great sadness we have had to leave our home as the landlord has decided to sell. When Andy Wade the director rang to give us this sad news we could tell it upset him a great deal. We have completed the purchase of a property through Gallant Richardson on 12th April.
Craig has been helpful throughout our journey even before we were purchasing through Gallant Richardson. He's always given us really useful and helpful advice and also went over and beyond his job role for us in January when our chain almost fell through with the property we were purchasing. Unfortunately, the estate agents who we were selling with were absent but Craig did everything in his power to help us continue the sale, and we have!
Gallant Richardson have great communications and are easy to contact as well as reliable.
Out of an 11 month journey and multiple estate agents used, Gallant Richardson have provided the best service and if we were to sell again, they would definitely be our first choice.

Always professional from the top down.
Many firms delegate down to people who are less efficient than , the original person you placed your business upon. Not here every member of staff is available , courteous and sincere.
Found they actually do as they say and often beyond.
They also meet deadlines

We were renting a flat via Gallant Richardson for 2 years, they were always very easy to contact and sort out any issues at all. The process both of moving in and out was seamless. Never had any issues with property visits either, person checking the flat was always very respectful and nice. Wanted to name a few names here as well but worried I'll miss someone as honestly every time we spoke to them, they were very approachable and understanding. I think the whole team is outstanding

The agency person I was interacting with was Andy and he was very professional when I had started the process. However, the agency's behavior was extremely unprofessional on the tenant's move-in date. The agency did not transfer the deposit and advanced rent to the landlord's account and hence I could not release the keys and agency was so careless that in spite of collecting all the money from the tenant in advance, they did not transfer the funds to the landlord's account. the tenants were so upset as it was not their fault at all. The lady tenant was crying on my driveway because of this huge lapse from the agency. Not sure why the agency was keeping all the money and kept sending stupid emails saying we have your deposit in secure client account etc which is a rubbish excuse. They ruined my weekend, the tenant's weekend, and their own time and what they achieved is criticism.
I would not deal with Gallant Richardson again in near future.

I’ve been renting my apartment from Gallant Richardson for three years now. Throughout that time if there has been the slightest problem it has been sorted immediately.
This week my water heater stopped working and the letting agent, Sacha Allen was so helpful that it was fixed for me on the day I called. I have some health problems at the moment and I really appreciated Sacha’s friendliness and service. I was treated as a person not a number! Thankyou!

I had a deeply disappointing experience with this agency. Despite my urgent need for a safe place to live due to the ongoing conflict in my home country (Ukraine) the agency was unwilling to accommodate my situation. My guarantor's availability for six months was deemed insufficient, and they insisted on a full year's payment upfront. It's disheartening that, in such trying times, the agency prioritized financial gain over helping a family in need. I would caution others seeking assistance from this agency to consider their commitment to clients' well-being. They want to work with me only if I'll be ready to pay for 12 months, my proposal about 6 months doesn't work for them. I am really very upset.

Wouldnt allow me to register for rentals as my guarantor is not a blood relative. A Guarentor is someone who guarentors should you defult, what about thoes who dont have family? very discriminative and the person I spoke to lacked any compassion or empathy.

I cannot recommend Gallant Richardson enough. They genuinely set a new standard for estate agents, and the rest have a lot of catching up to do.
Craig and Andy were true gentlemen, total professionals and always attentive, polite and caring. Previous experiences with other agents hadn’t been that positive and had put me off putting my property on the market, but I was so lucky to have found a property marketed by GR and they managed to sell my flat the day it went on the market.
Insanely good service and I’ll forever be grateful for the help and support provided during the moving process, especially when my less than attentive solicitor needed a poke. The true definition of professionals. Don’t use anyone else.

A faultless experience buying with Gallant Richardson. We viewed a property with Craig who was very patient considering we were running late. He gave us plenty of time to view the property and gave us all the information we needed and took the time to answer our questions, without rushing.
We were thrilled to hear the news a couple of days later that our offer had been accepted. Throughout the whole process, Craig kept in touch with a weekly call and made sure we were clear with how the purchase was coming along, informing us of any updates. In fact, we never had to chase them on any front as they got in touch as soon as there was an update for us.
We also spoke with Andy when Craig was out of the office, who was just as friendly and helpful.
After viewing property after property with other estate agents, we’re positive if we ever move in the future (we hope not), we’d choose Gallant Richardson without a shadow of a doubt.

I used Gallant Richardson recently for the sale of my flat. Unfortunately the sale fell through, but was no fault of Gallant Richardson; it was a very difficult and complicated sale and Craig worked hard all the way through, was very quick responding to emails and calls, did lots of liaising and chasing with various parties involved e.g. solicitors. buyer etc. I found Craig and Andy to be extremely knowledgable, professional and friendly and was very happy with the service they provided. I was so pleased that I felt bad that I wasn't able to pay them for the time they spent on the sale! I will most certainly be going back to Gallant Richardson in the future when I am ready to proceed with my sale and would highly recommend them.

I have just exchanged on my first property, I have no direct experience with any other estate agents, however I have experience sales and buys through friends and family and seen their experience with other estate agents . I have to say I’m not one for leaving reviews however I am extremely impressed and more than happy with the service I have had. I have been dealing with Craig Tarbet, he has been incredible useful and extremely friendly and helpful throughout this process, from me being a buyer the service he has given I can’t fault. I called about a property wanting more info about the pet policy, the first person who picked up told me pets were allowed, then I called again and somebody else told me that they had to make sure about the pet policy before I could schedule a viewing. I waited more than 24 hours, nobody contacted me and when I called them back I was told that the property was fully booked for viewings and they weren't booking any more. Unprofessional and unreliable, not only did I waste my time, but I also had to let go of one of the rare properties that allows pets, which are extremely hard to find.

We recently went to view a ground floor flat only to find that there were three lots of stairs(23 steps) up to the property. Add to that the fact that the person actually showing us around didn't even acknowledge the fact that we were there. Needless to say we didn't view the place. So beware people if they say its a ground floor flat, take some hiking boots.

I was a tenant with gallant Richardson for 10 years and would not recommend them as a letting agent to anyone who has to rent (a tenant). The house we rented was run down and needed a lot of work doing to it when we moved in but we made it our home and took great care of it. We improved the house in many ways over the years including revamping the garden. We got to know the staff quite well due to having to undergo frequent routine periodic checks. The frequent visits felt quite intrusive over the years but we accepted this is how this particular letting agent operates. So if your someone who wants to feel like the house you rent is your home, then this letting agents may not be for you. When we finally were ready to move out having secured a mortgage, they wanted to keep all the deposit money for the most petty unjustifiable reasons, which was a real kick in the teeth! I had the stress of disputing their reasoning for which they reduced their charges, but after renting for 24 years with various letting agents in that time, I can honestly say I have never lost a penny of my deposit before or had this unpleasant experience upon moving out. I was even charged to have Venetian blinds I added to the windows to be “professionally removed” as they claimed they had “damaged the window surround - and needed to be put good” - to find the blinds are still in place to this day - 8 months later with the new tenants living in the house!!! I would advise tenants to avoid this letting agents as they are bias to landlords needs and act in their favour presuming due to the larger fees they charge landlords to help manage the property on their behalf and complete periodic routine checks etc.

My daughter is renting a flat through this agency, 18 years old and her first private tenancy. Every single person she has had contact with has been absolutley amazing. But a special shout out to Jo. She has put up with idiot questions from myself, walked my daughter through the whole process and bent over backwards to do everything she can to make this as easy as possible. I am so grateful to her for everything she has done and cannot reccomend her or the agency highly enough. Everything they do is customer focused and they work hard for both tennant and landlord. Having been a customer of Gallant and Richardson over the past 4 years I can honestly say I'm a happy landlord for choosing their tenant finder service for a property which I let in Colchester. I've always been hesitant about using letting agencies in the past but their honesty throughout the entire process is second to none, and not living in Colchester anymore, I needed an agency who I could trust to do viewings when I couldn't be there. Also the extra mile they go to such as helping tenants on moving in dates certainly hasn't gone unnoticed. I would happily recommend them to other landlords and look forward to working with them in the future.

Awful woman on the phone. When I asked her to call the landlord and propose a slightly smaller price per month because the flat was in a bad state she said she will, then called me back in literally 2 minutes and said that the landlord is against it ( total lie, very obvious she didn’t even try to call the landlord) and was extremely rude to me by saying that she doesn’t think I’m the right candidate then, was very dismissive and totally put me off from putting a deposit down for this flat! And I literally called with the debit card in my hand.

Some of the staff that work here are so rude and unprofessional . When they come round your house for the inspections , they are so judgemental and snobby. Whenever I have walked into the estate agent , the majority of the staff will just stare at you and not even smile - makes you feel so uncomfortable. On the other hand , I have spoken to 1 or 2 other staff and they have been very polite and have helped us out a lot . The service they run is very efficient and they get things done ... it’s just a shame their customer service is so poor .

Started off well but then it all went down hill after I sent an email asking when I would be paid my money from the tenant as never consistent. Apparently this email didn't have the right 'tone' and as it was a Monday morning (their excuse not mine) I therefore received a very unbusinesslike response back. Since then more problems such as not being informed of works that needed to be carried out on the property - had to be told by my tenant. List goes on. And today to top it all off they breached GDPR regulations by forwarding an email I sent in confidence to a third party that contains my personal details. Surely this is basic knowledge to any business. They never take any responsibility for their actions - always passing on the blame, you can see that from the comments on other negative reviews. How about apologies so that people may consider using your service or recommending again?? Condescending, petty, sarcastic and don't even think about asking for a manager as it's a family business and they only have their family in mind. I am actually glad they breached the data protection act so that I can report them and give them the comeuppance they deserve. Only interested in properties making them the big money. Watch out!!! I look forward to my condescending reply. Lets see how they get out of this one.
Update** what a surprise you have done exactly what I said you would do - shift the blame. In fact asking when I will be paid politely is not disrespectful, if you don't provide me with the level of service I paid for am I not entitled to query it? I believe I am. I have re read my emails and would be happy to post here if necessary to prove your company is a joke and they are in no way rude. Why no online argument? You concerned what other information will come out .Yes already done thank you, you've missed one out and thats in relation to the personal data breach. Honestly have never written a negative review before but I urge anyone not to use this shambles of a company if you want to see your money and have your property correctly looked after. I mean you can even ask my tenant to get a view from the other side. I'm sure they will say just the same!!! Also you only terminated the contract because I advised I was going to do that after I never received my money but you wanted to get in there first - also have the emails to prove that. In 2010, I was a new landlord and Gallant Richardson guided me through the whole process of letting and managing my first property. I have let two houses since 2010 with them, and in 2013, I added a flat. I was living overseas during this time and chose the fully managed property service offered by Gallant Richardson. The team helped with each step of the process, including securing but-to-let mortgages, organising repairs on the properties, finding suitable tenants, carrying out regular inspections of the tenanted properties, and obtaining relevant gas and electrical safety certificates.
Gallant Richardson are prompt and professional in all correspondence. They send monthly statements detailing rent received and any charges, plus reports after property inspections. I can rely on them to look after my properties and am impressed by their consistently high standards of service and friendliness. I would recommend Gallant Richardson to any landlord.

Watch out. If you don't put it in writing they will lie and pretend you haven't told them.
In response.... actually it's because I repeatedly told you the garage door was broken and the landlord was doing nothing about it. You ignored me and six months later you pretended I hadn't phoned and told you about it.
Upon leaving you told me I'd be able to collect the washing machine if it was mine. Turned out it was mine but the landlord kept it and charged me for its disposal.
All your inspections and inventories were in favour of the landlord
You also appear to have several fake positive reviews about your company on this site.

My partner and I took time off work to view a flat, viewer never turned up waited 45min whilst turning up early and no one showed. Had not been contacted by the company nor had any apologies. After confronting one of their colleagues I was told it was all my fault and the viewer has been waiting on me! I understand that anyone makes mistakes in life and just an apology could have resolved it, but been told I'm a being dishonest is a bit of a slap in the face.

I have been with G and R now for some 8 or 9 years with 3 properties. As you would expect not everything with regard the lettings has been straight forward, and I judge people by how they perform when things go wrong, not what its like at the best of times. G and R have always provided up to date information and help with regard my tenants which helps. But most important to me, when there is a maintenance issue with one of the flats they are very quick to respond and arrange for repairs and the contractors they use very reasonable.
