I just exchanged on my house with Harris and Wood. From start to finish, they have all been beyond helpful. Exceptional marketing, photography, communication - you name it. However, I can't write this review without commending Marcus Jarman who personally handled practically everything in terms of getting my sale over the line. As a big worrier, he consistently reassured me, kept me in the loop about absolutely everything and was just an absolute pleasure to be in communication with throughout. Buying and selling a house is a stressful process, but Marcus made all of the difference. I'd absolutely use his and Harris + Wood's services again.

I have been impressed with Harris and Wood since I first called them to get a quote on selling my house. I was living out of the country and they made real effort to contact me to check at every stage and liaised between my tennants and management agents, as well as with my solicitor. My first buyer pulled out but Marcus Jarman was straight on it and within 4 days had a open house and three offers. It has only been 10 weeks between the offer being accepted and completion. I would highly recommended the company. Thank you to all the team there for a swift and personable service.

Unfortunately, not the best experience with Harris & Wood. Communication was not always great, from trying to arrange house viewings, to getting the paperwork sorted. When ringing the office, was told different information, communication between staff not great. I will say that our sales progressor was always kind and friendly, however had we known what we know now, we would not have brought the property and would have certainly used a different estate agent. Hopefully others will have a better experience.

First the good parts. Great photos and rightmove presentation. Great team enthusiasm, great at getting offers and great at the initial part of the process. Through no fault of harris and wood we ended up selling to a third buyer (having lost the previous 2 with them). General initial service very good.
Now the bad.
Speaking to staff and getting confusing information. On more than one occasion staff didn't seem to know who had called you and no one in the office seemed to update their CRM system or actually leave a message on your phone saying why they were calling. This often lead to being passed around multiple team members, none of which knew why we had been called by their office.
When we lost buyers through no fault of our own they did not appear particularly proactive.
In fact the only thing that got action to happen was giving notice and saying we would use another agent.
Chain checks- we were explicitly told the couple who had offered on our house ( our second buyers) had sold to a cash buyer who was chain free. We accepted the offer and showed our property as Sold stc.
We then put an offer in on our onward move. The agent we were buying through THOROUGHLY chain checked. It turned out our buyers had not even accepted an offer yet! Highly embarrassing but thankfully the agent we were buying through was competent.
Sales progression
In general ok. We were given updates on occasion that had come from our buyer and Harris and wood had not even checked with the solicitors. This lead to an often confused picture of what was actually happening.
In fact towards the end of our sale when our buyer was demanding we break the chain it was like Harris and Wood were working for them and not us.
On a final note, as the paying client I would expect some form of congratulations on completion. Our keys were already with the agent and we heard NOTHING. Not even an email.
I understand there has been a busy period within the housing market but generally aftercare after the initial buzz of getting a new property on the books was pretty poor.
