Built on farm land now part of a hugh expensive new estate that keeps growing. Very few local services and resources for the community further stretched by ridiculous amounts of housing being built in the area.

PURCHASE FELL THROUGH & ALMOST SCAMMED OUT OF £3.1K IN UPGRADES AND AVOID ALDERNEY PLOT 609!!!! And be very careful when paying for upgrades. Reserved plot 609 in July 2020. Couldn’t get mortgage due to significant down valuation of £17495. Unless Barratt reduce from original asking price of £252,495 don’t touch with a bargepole as you won’t be able to mortgage. Wouldn’t reduce price so we would have have had to find difference ourselves. Thanks but no thanks.
Asked politely for upgrade refund to be told no - very fortunately found email which said 25% deposit to be paid with rest payable 30 days before completion. However we were pressured into paying upfront. If we didn’t have that evidence they would have denied all knowledge quoting a “company policy” which was never explained to us prior to payment.
Barratt fobbed us off and put us under immense stress, dragged out the whole sorry affair. Will never spend another penny or trust another word they say ever again. Do yourself a favour and stay away.

Sales advisor exceptionally rude. Wouldn't recommend Barratt, visited for a completely wasted journey that could have been avoided with a simple phone call. I was prepared on my visit to purhcase a property and the manner in which I was spoken to completely changed my mind.
If this is what it's like when I'm wanting to hand over my money, imagine the service I'd receive once they'd have it. Shocking. Avoid!
