What a great cafe! The staff are always very welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent with generous portions and reasonably priced to go with it. I’ve also popped in for coffee and cake. But I find it hard to choose what to have as it all looks so tasty???? so I end up taking a few different pieces of cake home with me as well????. Would highly recommend ????????????... Read more

We stop here intentionally just for a coffee and cake. It is usually on the pricey side (£14 for 2 coffees and two cakes) but the cake made up for it. Our last visit it was an eyewatering £17 for 2 coffees and cake. The coffee is mediocre and the pricing doesn't make sense. An Americano arrived in a small coffee cup and was only two thirds full. The latte arrived in a tall cup and was double the size. And yet they were both £3.50. The slice of cakes were £5 each which was a shock when I came to pay the bill. My enjoyment was totally ruined when they arrived at our table. The portion sizes were so small compared to the portion size they previously served and are now smaller than other establishments who charge less. The experience was extortionate and I felt like I'd been mugged. Won't be going back.... Read more

Food is generally good. Decor is nice. Staff are friendly, but some are not fully competent with restaurant protocols. Menu is on the expensive side for what you get. Coffee is moderate and my order was wrong while another customer took her coffee back as it was cold. Reasonable restaurant, but prefer Poplars down the road.... Read more

Popped in here for lunch and to browse for some plants. The service in the cafe is excellent, plenty of friendly staff, checking we were happy with everything. We only had a light lunch but the food quality was spot on - very tasty and well presented. When looking for plants, we need some guidance so we asked the man watering the plants. He stopped what he was doing and spent several minutes helping us choose the right plants for our area of the garden. Will definitely return - both for lunch and more plants!... Read more

Lovely place for a mooch - gardening tools/plant food, animal feed and some little gift bits as well as a good selection of indoor and outdoor plants. The cafe was lovely too, they had a couple of choices of hot meals, paninis, jackets and basket meals all at reasonable prices. We tried a toasted sandwich & panini and both were really nice. Popped in today for lunch after a visit to the really good dairy next door. Absolutely wonderful place. My husband and I were blown away by the level of service we received. Everyone in the cafe was so warm and friendly. The staff even offered to make things that weren’t on the menu for our young children, which was so kind and unexpected! Food was amazing too... Ok but not all items are priced up! A bit frustrating! I don't like having to ask! Called again today. Car parking appalling, nowhere to park, all disabled spaces filled with pallets of stock. Saw a starter chicken coop/ run priced at £250 ideal for what we needed. Offered to buy it but they said it comes I flat packed. So we could not buy it. Awful way to run a business. I will not go there again. Staff unhelpful and surly.... Read more

Visited yesterday,not at all good, and the tearoom,well what can I say.we were there quite late on,the tables weren't clean (some sort of sticky residue on them) and when we asked for (and paid) a tea and coffee we were told that there wasn't a problem with making tea but there was with the making of the coffee (all because they had cleaned the coffee machine!)why would they be very reluctant to make us a coffee after all business is business,the two members of staff didn't seem to have a very good attitude either.my wife didn't feel well and all she just needed was to sit and have a hot drink,which they didn't want to do, doubtful if we will visit again.... I truly have no idea how this garden centre remains open. Ordered 3 pots 2 months later after chasing the pots was told the manufacturer had made some but they were only classed as seconds but price so old be adjusted accordingly. Drove there today to be told pots were now £10 each more expensive, lady at till didn't know the conversation I'd had with another member of staff I was kept waiting, to be told shed take £10 off 2 pots, they were clearly seconds albeit she didn't come from behind the till to look. Inexperienced albeit pleasant staff damages back of my car with pots. All this after explaining I'd been widowed 4 weeks ago, shocking !!!! Update to my review. I have been contacted by Ruth who was distressed to hear my comments. After apologising and explaining what had actually gone wrong she solved the problem immediately and I must say couldn't have been kinder. Thankyou Ruth. Think I know now why Nuyard had so many glowing reviews!!!!... Read more

Don't bother it closed down months ago. Edit: now renamed as Nuyard and reopened. Seem a friendly bunch, mainly the best ex staff of Countrywide that went bust. The coal was cheaper than Regal Garage but still 25% more than BM stores at the Ketch.... Read more
