Our experience with the HDWE has always been stellar. Their team are professional, knowledgeable and experienced. The HDWE has done wonders to Marylebone in the last 15 years and the area has now a great mix of retail, medical, office, residential and educational premises like no other in London.

Old fashioned company with old fashioned, old school views. Simply out of touch with the current changing landscape!
Not allowing the best modern skin care aestheticians and professionals to rent their properties if it doesn't meet with their future plans for the area.
And strangely at a time when hi-tech cutting-edge non-invasive aesthetic treatments are the latest advances in the skin care world.
Even if the company is licensed, well established, insured and has excellent references with a long history of providing a valuable service to their clients for decades!
They are simply the best at making life difficult for tenants and landlords alike, from what I have experienced, seen and heard.
No wonder all the best professionals are moving out - and on to better properties with other nicer landlords that are up-to-date with the times.
I would not recommend them. They will have you running around in circles, only for you to find out in the end that they have wasted your precious time.

They are updating properties every few years and if you are unlucky enough to be in a property whilst renovation is taking place your quality of living will be severely disrupted. No provisions are made for tenants living in the properties during months of refurbishment. Good Landlords until you need to move out of a property, then you have to chase and chase to get your deposit back which can take months also.

We had a great experience with Howard de Walden Estate. We rented a 2 BR/2 Bath flat in Marylebone for nearly two years. They always fixed any issues very promptly, and when we vacated, we paid for the professional cleaning and got virtually all of our deposit back. I'd highly recommend them as a quality lessor and an ethical organization.

rents high/streets filthy especially marylebone lane and Bulstrode st/always rubbish on street no matter the day or night/rats have been seen
