Despite everyone telling us how fantastic our home was we didn’t receive any offers and interest soon dwindled. In August 2023 we appointed Fine & Country Marlborough and what a totally amazing experience from day one! Kate Ormand was our contact and she was truly amazing! She worked tirelessly trying to sell our house and remained positive and encouraging even in times when the market was quiet. She always kept us updated and was always contactable. We cannot praise her enough. Ed and Pip from the Marlborough team were also always helpful and supportive. We sold our house recently and Kate made sure the whole process was as smooth as possible even in challenging times. The old adage ‘you get what you pay for’ couldn’t have been more true as Kate went way above and beyond to ensure our sale was successful. We would highly recommend Ed and the team at Fine & Country Marlborough & Devizes. We instructed Ed after having a frustrating time with another agent. Right from the start we benefited from the personal service that Ed can offer, the marketing materials were prepared to a very high standard. The viewings were always fully accompanied and well organised to minimise disruption with with good transparency as to the positions of the interested parties. We ended up selling the house several times due to chains collapsing in a difficult market with Ed updating the marketing materials to keep them fresh. When it came to offers Ed was great at managing competing bids to get us the best value. As Ed expanded his team we continued to receive great support from Kate and Pip. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Kate at Fine and Country could not have been any better In fact I would say definitely one of the best estate agents I’ve had the pleasure to have met. The whole buying process really could not have any simpler. The main thing I want from an estate agent above all else is great communication skills and Kate had this in abundance. I could send her a WhatsApp message (yes WhatsApp, fine and country move ahead with the times) with a query I had and more times than not I would have a reply within a couple of hours sometimes minutes! From offer to completion the whole process took just over 10 weeks. Yes all parties had excellent solicitors which did help but again Kate was totally on the ball with all solicitors as well. We were buying a home marketed by Ed Taylor and Fine and Country rather than selling so this is probably a slightly different perspective from most other reviews. If you're looking for a professional agent to sell your home though I would recommend Ed, unlike a lot of agents he knew the details of the property inside out, he was welcoming, gave us time to walk around on our own and didn't make us feel pressured at all (while still asking pertinent questions about our position that you as a seller would want to know ;-)). Our purchase actually went through a very protracted process in the end due to some annoying legalities but Ed was on top of everything that happened, meditating between the various parties, management companies and solicitors involved and made everything a lot less stressful than it could have been. Ed achieved a fantastic result for us, despite the fact that the transaction process was difficult and protracted. Ed can be relied upon to always stay calm even when the going gets tough.
