Complete chancers, will try to fleece every penny from your deposit. Worst letting agents I’ve ever had to deal with. My warning for new tenants: PHOTOGRAPH EVERYTHING, and don’t let these lying scammers try to screw you over. We were only there for 10 months (seasonal work), and did the following upon leaving - hired a rug doctor to clean the carpets (despite the rugs being spotless as we never wore shoes inside) - had a professor painter (a neighbour) come around to examine each wall, and fix anything he thought we might be deducted (4 minor scuffs, on 3 walls, none of which we even knew had been us) I’ve never left a place in such great condition in my entire life, and had previously never had a penny deducted from my deposit. For this place, we never had people over - never had the time, our jobs were that busy. I thought we were both being very generous with this level of cleaning since tiny scuffs on walls and wearing shoes inside is 100% “general wear and tear”. Here’s just some of the things that these charlatans tried to take from our deposit. - professional carpet cleaning throughout… these jokers actually said to me that “there were dents in the carpet From your furniture which is removed by professional carpet cleaning”. A lie that they only backed down on when I showed them a picture of the dents made by the previous tenants furniture. - wall painting. They charged us to repaint a wall. Nothing was wrong with those walls, and as I said, we had gotten a professional around just before we moved out. They said to “you have to pay because the work has already been done” and in my naivety, I believed them. That’s just a few of the things they tried to charge us for. A flat which this company deals with which is directly above mine was recently vacated. The windows were left open. The wind picked up resulting in a door banging all night keeping me up. I rang the next day to explain the situation and can they send someone round to sort the problem. I got a negative result they said we won't send anyone round just for that. We may be able to get someone round by the end of the week. Fortunately the wind did not pick up again.... Read more

Have been with Cherwell for a few months now and although some problems have arisen, such as mould - these were dealt with by Cherwell within a couple of weeks of being made aware. Additionally, the property did have some issues at the beginning such as a leaky gutter, but Cherwell ensured the landlord resolved this promptly. Cherwell property management company have also provided other services, such as replacing electricals when faulty, clearing gutters etc. all free of charge. Despite the poor initial experiences with the mould and blocked guttering, they have since taken steps to rectify any issues with the property and have done a good job at managing any issues we (as tenants), or the landlord, have.
