Martin & Co is the best property agency I have come across in Banbury. David the manager always goes the extra mile for his clients with an excellent customer service!
I was trying to rent my property with Martin & Co
but I rented the property to a family member. It happened that they were looking to rent a house as I was looking for a tenant.

I will never use this agency again! Never been treated in such a way by a letting agent or land lord in my life. Just decided because they haven't increased the rent for a year they want to increase by 14% an increase in £125 a month or I must move out and have been served a section 25. Not a chance to negotiate a higher reasonable rate, no customer service at all, but apparently a renter isn't a customer, we are just a commodity that can be abused. As a renter I feel so let down by the system, and made to feel like paying the rent in time, looking after the property, just isn't appreciated.... Read more

If I could I would have given 10/10 due to Martin & co going above and beyond to find us a house. david manager is just the nicest of people we have ever met and anything we needed sorting was sorted quickly and problem free. Our landlord was also very nice and a lovely gentleman well all the staff at Martin & co have always been very helpful David manager, when we locked ourself out came out on day of to let us in which was so nice and never even charged us a penny like most agencies would we had our deposit paid back within a week which is fantastic and helpful and the rent repaid fast when new tenants moved in we have never had to make a complaint or ask more then twice about anything they're very professional easy going and fast working and on time which is a bonus we are sorry to say bye but needed a bigger property due to growing family or would have stayed would definitely go back to Martin &co in the future though If we ever needed to so happy with the service we received and will recommend to anyone ??... In the past I have had issues with communication and rude staff.

A contentious problem that is currently ongoing is the unbearable musty, damp stink of the flat I am renting from Martin&Co.
The smell is clearly within the walls of the flat; there is evidence on the walls of discolouration, the wall-paper is beginning to separate from the walls.
The landlord clearly doesn't care for the property because his idea of decorating is to paint over wallpaper which then starts to peel away, a bit like you'd find in a cheap hotel where the finish looks appalling and in this case STINKS, too.
I paste a direct quote from Martin&Co regarding this issue:
"The last tenant vacated the flat on the 19th of July
From experience on other properties where there is void period between tenancies there could be odour that comes from lack of ventilation while the property is locked up and unused – this is common and easily solved once tenant move in and occupy the property
We have had some adverse weather, hot and cold and this could also contribute to the issue"
No amount of airing will get rid of the smell in this flat, I know because I go in to the flat daily, I open all windows, I even have to leave the door open because of the smell.
I have spent hours there cleaning the property, preparing it to be lived in, and for hours it has been aired. On the day I viewed the property it was getting a thorough airing because there was no door on it!
The point i'm making is that this property has not been closed up for months or even weeks, it has been getting aired.
I have even had a dehumidifier on for a full day and night and the smell still remains.
But what made me laugh with utter frustration and disbelief was the line from the agent about there being " some adverse weather, hot and cold and this could also contribute to the issue"
Fact check: in the week leading up to me taking possession of the flat there had been a heat-wave, the following week when I got the key/s to the flat there was some precipitation but also some settled periods, none of it was cold, it was August for goodness sake and even if there was some adverse weather, is the agent suggesting that the flat is not weather proof and that it is likely to let in the weather, causing damp perhaps?
