Hunters have been my lettings agent for just over a year now and have always been a pleasure to deal with. Courteous, friendly and professional, they can be relied upon to deal with and resolve any queries. Their tenancy 'portal' is easy to use and enables quick reporting of maintenance issues which are seen to promptly.
Thanks!... Read more

Rented through Hunters (originally Cumberland Lettings) for over 2 years and I can't fault the team at all. As someone who has rented for the past decade, dealing with at least 10 landlords, I am more than happy with my experience letting through Hunters. The team were friendly, more than happy to help, always responded quickly and were just a pleasure to deal with, especially Danielle, Paula and Marie whom I mainly spoke to.
The only reason I left this property was because I was ready to purchase my first home.
Thank you all again for a pleasant experience and for allowing me to make that house my home.... Read more

Do not rent through these people. You view a house and they tell you they will have it cleaned/decorating refreshed/remove previous persons random stuff before you get the keys, then you get the keys and nothing has changed. They lied. You then have to pay for paint, redecorate yourself, spend a week scrubbing it, pay to clean carpets, pay for a professional oven cleaner, pay to get the windows unlocked etc.
They give you a report/inventory on entry saying the house is in a lovely condition, which shows no photos of any of the dirt or damage. You then fear they are going to try and blame the damage on you when you leave so you have to take dozens of photos yourself and email them, list all the defects and ask them to add it to their totally inaccurate inventory.
Throughout the tenancy stuff breaks/leaks. They do not respond in a timely fashion leaving you with no heating or hot water, or with water dripping through the ceiling off a light fitting and all down the walls....for a week....whilst charging you £775 a month.
When you have had enough after a year, and decide to leave, you give full notice, clean everything, leave the property dramatically better than when you moved in, and they do an inspection. This time they list every single tiny defect they can find, all the ones they missed when you moved in. They compare it to their initial report and try to imply you have done the damage. They seem to have 'lost' all the emails and photos you sent and have not added them to the initial inventory as requested.
Fortunately, because you are not an idiot and you predicted what these thieving scammers were going to try to do from the outset, you have kept all the correspondence and timestamped digital images showing the damage predates you moving in.
Now you get to argue back and forth for god knows how long while they try to keep your £775 deposit.
Seriously, it's not worth the hassle. Find another property agent.
Also, we sold our house through these guys at the same time as moving into renting and the sale fell through at the last minute leaving us straddling two properties. It wasn't entirely their fault as solicitors were also to blame, but essentially failure to chase the chain and assuming things had been done without actually checking was the reason we were left out of pocket. It could have been avoided with actual proactive work being done. These guys are good at taking money and not a lot else.... Read more

If I could give the service provided a 6 Star rating I would, moving house is one of the most stressful periods to go through, but with Paula at Hunter's, all the mundane chores are easily managed and laid out to completion. Thank you for making it that much easier. ????????????????... Read more

Do not sell your home through the Cumberland Estate agents, just had terrible service where the vendor could be as much as £50000.00 out of pocket because they did not get back to us as promised.... Read more

Property listings are matched to data from the Land Registry by our clever algorithm. Clever as it may be, it isn't always right, especially if a property was listed by multiple agents. The asking price is the original listing price, NOT the final listing price.
