Megan and her colleague Caroline followed up with my application right away and got me sorted. The front of office team is very adept and approachable.

The Grisedales team, especially Debs and Daria have been fantastic in helping us rent and then buy a property within 4 weeks. They went above and beyond what would be expected of an estate agents. Would definitely recommend using their services.

I bought the house through them 3 years ago and after interactions with other local agents whilst searching for our new home, I had no doubt I would be using Vicinity to sell. Shelly's knowledge, professionalism and advice has been invaluable throughout the process and using a local (not high street) agent makes a real difference to the quality of service you get. I have had a particularly weird experience from ill communication from my legal team but nothing was a problem to this team. 19th Sep 2024 (17 weeks ago)Big thanks to Stephen and the team for their help in my latest investment property purchase on Boundary Road in Carlisle. I viewed a couple of properties with them, and I wasn't rushed on viewings, they had the answers to the questions I asked and recommended I view the property I eventually purchased. Supportive and motivated through the purchasing process, and I know from the vendor that they were equally satisfied. A slightly drawn out process due to probate, but I never felt like the property had been put on the back burner. I can very much recommend these guys and girls as a decent, reputable agent.
5th Dec 2024 (6 weeks ago)BE WARNED: Unapologetically incompetent. Agent failed to inform us that our offer was rejected. When confronted will repeatedly avoid apologising and instead lie and claim they did send an email (they didn’t.). Furthermore, we placed a revised offer, and when we rung up the next morning to see if a decision had been made they once again lied and claimed they had not received an email and that the property was sold stc from another offer which came after ours. Never would I look at a house being sold through them again. Very very poor and unhelpful service.
28th Feb 2024 (10 mo. ago)Communication with Hunters was almost impossible, we could never get through to them on the telephone. Calls were never returned when messages were left and when we did get through to them, they were surely in their attitude. No suggestions were made as to what actions could be taken to get the property sold. In the end we got rid of them.

If you rent from Northwood take your time and go through everything that seems not right (although you might risk to "lose" the property you're interested in, if you complain too much) Keep everything email documented.

25th Nov 2024 (7 weeks ago)Avoid. Didn't do repairs, meant very expensive fix as they allowed issue to worsen over time. Wouldnt recommended for landlords or tenants. Can't trust them to look after a property.

Nicola was the complete professional, friendly and well informed about the area so able to suggest a clear marketing strategy if I was to go ahead with sale. Also offered advice on what would be required (or not) in order to achieve the best for the property. Still deciding whether to go ahead, but would be more than to use their services or recommend.

18th Mar 2024 (9 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
12th May 2024 (8 mo. ago)We knew when we first met Adam Gaulton that he was the right agent for us and since then, he has more than surpassed our expectations! Adam is a genuinely nice guy and this, in combination with his impressive knowledge and expertise, got our house sold (for the full asking price) in less than 3 weeks! Since then, Adam has continued to offer us advice and support and has been an absolute pleasure to work with. We honestly couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend him to anyone!

11th Dec 2023 (1 year ago)Mark helped me find a buyer for my later mother's house, and I was very happy with his work from start to finish. I live in the US, so much of the communication had to happen via WhatsApp, but that went fine - Mark was always quick to respond and clear about all the details.
