Absolutely fantastic all around. People do give Estate agents a bad name, and I've dealt with them for the last 12 years in rented accommodation....... Not Iglu though. Not once in the last 3 months of getting a mortgage via this company could I have a bad thing to say. Chloe especially was top of her game at all times. Always kept me updated regarding bank and solicitors (In fact, we sometimes heard back from Chloe before the solicitor, lol) Right from looking around the house we've just bought to moving in. Consequently, when it came to selling the property this year after our son moved out we could see no reason to use another agency. Once again, their service was excellent. In general they are awful and in comparison to other York letting agents they are atrocious. If you arrange a viewing with them expect them not to turn up on the first occasion and if you are lucky enough for them to turn up the second time around they will probably break the key in the lock. As you can see below the fees are also ridiculous. Iglu showed me around a flat when I was looking back in 2013 and I was so impressed with the agent that I made a mental note I would want them selling my place when it came round to it. They came across as so much more interested in property than any other agency I’d dealt with; enthusiastic without being pushy and informed about the property and local area. I sold this year with Iglu and was not disappointed; they were professional and efficient, rates were competitive and the particulars and photos of my house were great - it sold really quickly! I was given plenty of notice of viewings, feedback was always provided and I was kept up to date throughout the sales process without ever having to chase for information. Our experience with Iglu has sadly been a negative one. Firstly, we reported our house for damp- which meant that every night slugs covered the bathroom wall. Iglu however 'closed' this case with their online system and that was that. When it was time to move out of our damp house after a year of musty smells, slugs all over the walls and cupboards smelling of rotting wood; we were very surprised and felt unfairly done by when we found out our deposit had been largely deducted. I won't go into details, as the landlord played a large part in our unfair mistreatment and it would be fair on us to blame iglu for his incredibly poor actions. However, the way Iglu handled the situation was extremely unprofessional and just added to our frustration towards the landlord. My housemate tried on several attempts to contact Lisa regarding the situation. During this time, communication was really poor and we felt very uninformed on our case throughout. Giving Iglu the benefit of the doubt, we fully understand and appreciate that our landlord might have been difficult to contact and therefore caused the delay. This said, all we would have liked is a simple email to update us of the situation. We feel like we had to constantly chase our problem up and several times were promised to be contacted when we were not. As students, a couple of us are relying on our deposit to be able to cover costs of living over summer. The delay between communication therefore was even more frustrating for us and we felt like our problem was pushed to a side and not dealt with professionally or respectfully.... Read more

Iglu were absolutely fantastic, they came in with the best valuation of my flat and the fee structure was a lot better than the competitors! The successful offer Iglu obtained for my flat was also a lot higher than most other estate agents valuations!
