I would suggest that no one ever uses Lannister Homes. I rented a room within a shared house managed by themselves from September 2018 to June 2019 and it was a horrendous experience. First of all, the estate agent who showed me around lied about who was currently living in the house - making up people which we then discovered had never lived in the house. Second of all, I signed up for a particular room and when I turned up on the day of moving - they had given me a completely different room, so unorganized.
The house had not been cleaned pre move and was absolutely filthy. The condition of the house in general was very poor, with broken kick boards in the kitchen, a broken bath tub, broken flooring, etc.
The estate agent had taken photos of my room which he then said he would email over to me, I had to pester him for weeks and weeks to send these over, to which I was either ignored or received excuses. This seemed very suspicious to me.
A month or so after the move, our oven completely broke. I alerted the estate agent to this as there was 4/5 of us using the kitchen at this point. I was told that they would look into it. I was then told that they would get us a new oven but it may be a week before they actually got it fitted, which is ridiculous considering that 5 people would be left without an oven for the week. I came home one day to the oven dumped right in the middle of our kitchen, no care taken at all.
We were kept in the dark about a rat infestation in our garden and around the front of the house. The neighbor had to notify us that this was happening and we were told that the estate agent had said to the neighbor 'don't tell next door'.
We also found that we had mice in the house, which I spotted myself one evening in our kitchen. I reported this the next day straight away, I had to wait for 2 weeks before the estate agent would even visit the house to put a trap down - even though she specified that the government guidelines are for this to be dealt with within 5 days. I had to call the office everyday within this time as I was getting no response what so ever. The estate agent claimed that the mice were due to cleanliness issues - which is untrue as we had a cleaner, lived on the second floor of the house and the mice were actually coming through a broken kickboard that had been there since we had moved in.
They will do anything to fob you off, these were only a couple of issues from a list of hundreds.
They are so unprofessional, unresponsive, rude and lazy. They have no interest in the welfare of their tenants, health and safety or anything that they should be doing as an estate agent. They are an embarrassment and I strongly recommend staying away from them.... Read more
