Appalling Letting Agents. I rented with them for 3 years when it was initially IMS. There were no problems to begin with, but these last few months have shown me just how nasty some of the letting agents really are. They lie, and deflect their terrible conduct onto tenants and are adamant they do nothing wrong. They also attempt to withhold your deposit. Devious liars! Avoid!!!... Read more

Disappointed with this letting company. After expressing interest in a flat, they phoned me stating I would have to move in immediately. When I explained I had a student tenancy on a house until end of August, the caller tutted in disgust and said she didn't deal with students. Despite trying to explain myself and my other half are now working professionals, looking for a professional flat in the city, the caller continued to talk about how she didn't deal with students, a bit of a stereotype if you ask me. Very disappointed, not even given 5 minutes to explain our situation. Will definitely be looking elsewhere.... Read more

Easily the worst letting company we've ever dealt with. The letting process needed to be chased. They have lied to us on multiple occasion when telling us that our messages about the property have been passed on to the landlord when actually they hadn't. They couldn't change an inspection date as we let them know too late even though the letter turned up 3 days prior to the inspection. We waited in all day and they never showed! Constant reminders about a leaky tap (our only complaint in over 2 years) is still yet to be resolved. It also seems that some of the 5 stars are from MBM employees. Let's hope you really like the property you are renting and not going with them for the service.... Read more

I submitted an application for a rental property to MBM services over the weekend, prior to doing so I had been very open about the fact I have had adverse credit in the past and I have no debts on my credit file, ALL of my credit is paid off. I had asked for a guarantors form as I had a feeling I would need one, they said it's not a problem and I could submit my application without one as they would come back to me should I need a guarantors form or if I needed to pay rent upfront which is also a possible option however when receiving the call to advise on the rejection, apparently I spoke to the MD, Helen. It's THE MOST judgemental phone call I have EVER received in my whole life. I work full time as a PA on a very good salary now with zero debts and I have been employed by the same company for 11 years. This woman made me feel like I was from benefit street trying to get myself a room at Buckingham palace her words with the most judgmental tone, I quote "Well it's not just a case of your adverse credit, there are PETS involved AND CHILDREN!!! and you are dependent on a sale of a property" Said sale completes this week and a previous conversation they had already been told there would be no pets as they will not be coming with me. Absolutely appalling behaviour, I have worked extremely hard to ensure all of my debts are fully paid and I imagine I now have more disposable income than this disgraceful judgmental woman does!! I would highly reccomend MBM property letting. They were very easy to deal with and the communication was brilliant. Everything was sorted for us and we moved into a great house with no trouble at all. The terrible wind blew our fence down but the landlord came out and sorted it straight away so they clearly care about their tenants. 5 star :)... Read more

All the staff in the property management department, particularly Giorgio, who has been most helpful when my tenant moved out, but also Kaye and Kerry, are attentive, professional and polite, and i was kept in the loop constantly. I do think it helps that I don't have unrealistic expectations about response times though as well as understanding i'm not their only client! Small breakdown in communication with senior management but easily resolved. I'd have no issues in recommending MBM :)... Read more

Occasionally need a nudge when asking question's of a landlord. The directors were very slow to issue a refund of accidentally overpaid rent & charged me £20 for the privilege (as per TOC apparently but who reads ALL the small print) The staff I have dealt with have all been really friendly & helpful even when I have been a little grumpy so nothing but praise there. It is my second property with MBM and I can say all issues whether I like the answer or not are dealt with quickly & professionally.... Read more

I have used MBM for over a year when I transferred one of my properties over from another Derby letting agent. To say they provide a better all round service would be an understatement. If anything needs attending to I get a phone call from them and then they send a contractor round to fix the problem and send me a bill afterwards. No added costs from them - unlike the other letting agencies and happy tenants and smooth running of service. That's what I call a fully managed service! Thanks Keith Dean... Read more

absolutely the worst rental agency in derby and i have used a fair few. They don't care for the tenants one bit- they are there to line the landlords pockets because they are the ones they need to keep happy to continue to get income. Their staff are rude - from inspections (especially the moody approaching-30 lady who visits mostly - cheer up love, you might get a decent job one day!) through to their phone calls which they on the whole, answer badly and are grumpy. If you need any repairs doing your best to contact your landlord direct or you will be waiting 2 days for them to ring the landlord. When it comes to inventories make sure everything is spot on and you take photos on move in and make amendments to the inventory. They told us 'they are not that thorough' when it comes to inventories so don't worry about changes - funny that, when it comes to move out they tried to charge us for gardening cleaning and various repairs. Luckily, we took it all the way and ended up paying nothing because we could prove the condition was fair. I STATE AGAIN... Read more
