Absolutely useless. Have continuously failed to deliver any level of service during our tenancy with them. Problems with damp and other maintenance issues have been ignored despite frequent attempts to contact them and acquire their help in resolving our issues. Failed to attend a scheduled flat inspection, claim they do not have keys when they do and have used them on prior flat inspections whilst we have been at work. They then demanded my presence for an inspection on a revised date, although they have keys and we both work during the day. Having rearranged my working hours and contacted them with a suitable date, they have failed to confirm or respond in any way. Pony.... Read more

DON'T EVEN DESERVE THAT STAR!!! A bunch of unprofessional that is there just to waste your time! I saw a 2 bed flat on their website and tried contacting them for a viewing through phone and email. First time I called I was greeted and spoke to in such a manner as if she didn’t even want to speak to me, and hung up on me half way through the conversation! I called back several times and she replied saying all the system was down in the office including the computers so she can’t book me in for a viewing. I called back few days later regarding the same property and after a long wait finally got through to the person that can help me, the receptionist or whoever answers the phone is absolutely useless she knows nothing and is very unhelpful. They don’t even communicate with each other because after I managed to arranger a viewing for a very inconvenient time for me for their convince as they said they are ‘not allowed’ to visit the same property twice in a day… I received 3 to 4 calls over the next three days from different people asking me if I wanted to arrange a viewing for the same property!!!??? So on the day of the viewing I had to rush over on my lunch break just to find that no one had turned up and after waiting a while I contacted them just to be told that the flat has been let! This was at 1pm on Thursday and one of them had called me during the day on Wednesday asking me if I wanted to arrange a viewing for this property and I told them for the 4th time I already have arranged a viewing, please can I confirm this this tomorrow (Thursday) at 1pm, and she confirmed rightly so! Apparently they had left a voicemail on my phone because they couldn’t contact me but my phone wasn’t off at any point nor was there a voicemail left. They have my email address and phone number so they could have emailed me or text messaged me or even contacted me before the viewing to save me the journey!!! So ungrateful and unhelpful people I don’t understand why they work in that industry if they hate people so much!... Read more

From viewings to check out, our dealings with Lettings Direct have been been conducted very professionally. As with any property, we had a few situations which required the landlords assistance. LD were always quick to respond to calls and emails and act upon our requests. Any maintenance which was needed, was done very quickly and we were always kept well informed about inspections/viewings. Particular thanks go to Laura Breen, who was particularly helpful over the course of our tenancy! Having dealt with a number of letting agents in Southampton, I can say that Lettings Direct have been by far the best to deal with. Thanks to everyone at the Canute Road office!... Read more

Me and my other half recently moved into a flat (that we're in love with) although 2 days after the move our toilet began to spray water out of the pipes, the agency was closed so we resorted to calling out an emergency plumber as the water would have leaked through to the lower flats. After paying for the plumbing and attempting to reach the agency (and our landlord who happens to live abroad) for the past month they finally reached the decision of not reimbursing us despite the fact it's their resoponsibility as we were only 2 days into our tennancy. We also had a number of things in our inventory that are broken, and after notifying them of this a number of times we have still not had anything fixed.. Including the front lock which we are concerned about for our safety and the things we own.. Clearly not a concern for them though as money would be involved. All in all, terrible customer service and desipite being told by friends and family I thought they may just be overreacting.. I regret renting a property from this irresponsible, slow, and generally money grabbing company (and landlord).... Read more

Absolutely dreadful. They accused my co-tenants and myself of rent arreas 4 times in a year and didn't even reply to our emails when we provided proof that we had paid the correct amount and in due time. Additionally, they charged us £300 because we left a small portion of lawn that we hadn't mowed. Overall we are very disappointed and will certainly not be renting a property through Lettings Direct ever again. I would strongly discourage anyone who wishes to rent a property through Lettings Direct.... Read more

By far the best letting agency that I've used in Southampton. If you communicate well with them they're extremely helpful and even when you think you've wasted their time with what turned out to be simple they are always more than happy to oblige. I can't rate them highly enough and I don't think you get much more validation than repeat custom - I am about to renew for a third consecutive year. Excellent service that makes your home life nothing to even think about let alone worry about.... Read more

Shocking experience. I am a prospective tenant, and the way I was treated is definitely not appropriate for a customer facing organisation. The agent I originally spoke to was rude and demeaning, and her "manager" was just as bad, in that she made excuses for the agent's behaviour. Will not be using them ever - either as a tenant or a landlord!... Read more

Since being put in touch with Millie at Lettings Direct I have received nothing but helpfulness, kindness and excellent customer service. I have found her to be very approachable and if I ever had a problem, she would make sure it was sorted straight away. I would definitely recommend Lettings Direct to other people. The service I got from Millie was was outstanding. I had a call 30 minutes prior to our viewing and one later on in the afternoon to see if I had any questions which I appreciated.... Read more

This was my first time letting so cannot compare to other letting agency's but I would say that the staff that answer the phones are not very helpful, I felt they where very rude. So I thought I would go to visit the office in office village, as soon as I walked in I felt very welcomed and the lady I spoke to was very helpful spoke me through everything understanding this was my first time renting. Through the whole process they emailed me each stage and any problems that occurred and replied to my emails within the hour. Laura breen was most helpful answering any questions I had quickly and honestly.
